The other 98% ran out of Kool-aid. Maybe people WANT a glitch free online experience in the digital age, and realized that you can only improve graphics so much. (Yes, I agree 2K14 looks nice in HD, as does GTA V, but the majority of the masses don't have a top of the line HDTV, but I'd bet most have a stable internet connection for everything not named NBA2k14, ....or GTA V for that matter.

We can do and learn almost everything on the internet these days, except play ONE lag free, glitch free NBA2k14 game mode online.

Bring on competition and see the changes for the better...of course starting next year.

Save some of the Kool-aid for me though, because if LIVE Flops my copy will be returned too, but we will have our "competition" next year, and at least its back.
Actually the simple math would be likes vs. dislikes not likes vs. views. The simple math would be NBA 2K14- 217 dislikes divided by 10,299 likes= 98% likes vs. 2% dislikes. Where as NBA Live 14 has 1,796 likes divided by 5,938 dislike= 30% likes vs. 70% dislikes. A huge discrepancy among the two games. When you factor in NBA 2K has 983,000 views vs. NBA Live 14's 398,000 views it's even a bigger discrepancy considering only 2% disliked NBA 2K14 and there video is under way more scrutiny considering the view count difference vs. NBA Live 14.

I'm not much of an online player, because honestly I've never played a sports game online without experiencing at least some lag, which ruins the experience for me completely. However, from a gameplay and graphical standpoint, I just don't see Live being competitive with 2k, at least not this year, not after seeing those 2 clips. We'll see how it unfolds, but I'd be completely shocked if 2k doesn't rule the roost for at least another year when it comes to reviews and, more importantly, sales. I'd probably rather play 2k14 on the 360 than Live on the One based on that terrible gameplay clip.

Again though, seriously. Can we stop talking about 2K and discuss Live?
I was. I'm suggesting Id rather play anything online on an EA server than a crappy 2k server. 2ks online is always a glitchy buggy mess . Has been since I strarted playing 2k on the 360.

Maybe EA is just terrible making trailers lol

Maaaaaan, I tried to hard to remain optimistic, but I can't with this.

I really felt like I was watching NBA Live 10 2.0. Nothing looked fluid or authentic. Everything looked stiff and scripted. I'm really scared to see this game in 5 on 5 action because it already feels like the same ole same ole from EA. And why is the rim so big in comparison to the ball? Wtf!?!?

Which I guess I really can't say that I am all that surprised, but man I was expecting more than this. Coming a Live fan (not blind loyalist), I couldn't be more disappointed. I honestly felt that they were on their way to righting the ship. Had more community involvement, were admitting their past mistakes and vowing to prove themselves, and this is what comes out??? Just...wow.

@tsbmolina. It (quoted post) was to be taken as seriously as the SIMPLE methodology used for the data given in the original post I quoted. His original numbers were laughable for the same reasons you jumped my post, but I respect your need for correct facts too. Again, it was satire only.

The point is ,the trailer is not disappointing, because it didn't really show anything, unless of course you were looking for sluggish gameplay in slo-mo, and ripped superheroes, which were not in the NBA Live trailer.

Whether you love it or hate it, and we all will do both, NBA Live will be back, but now, we actually get to give the good feedback thy will desperately need, so that they can make it better and more enjoyable game, much faster. Thats what series fans should be most excited about.

EA's other sports efforts this year have been good to great depending on who you ask. NBA Live should be par for that course.

It's just a trailer, we can not be sure one wayor the other until we play the real game or at least until we see some gameplay with the proper setup...

I do love basketball and I am a little bit tired of that other game and its arcade online gameplay (at least in ranked and myteam games) so I will give NBA Live 14 the benefit of the doubt...

Cheers!

Seanhazz1 your quoted as saying, "We actually get to give the good feedback EA desperately needs so that they can make it better and more enjoyable game, much faster. Now that's not only laughable but hysterical?! EA has had 4 count them 1,2,3,4 years that's 1460 days worth of feedback through countless forum threads and videos to right the ship. I'm interested to know how you explain how 4 years isn't enough time for EA to have already gotten the feedback they need to make the game better? So your basically saying you have no problem dropping $60 on a game so that you can give EA feedback to better there product? Your ok with being a beta tester for a game that looks like it's not ready for last gen never mind next gen. All I can say is more power to you.

What? Lol, you made me spit my drink I laughed so hard. How did politics make it into the conversation?

@oyounggoku - My point exactly, please read. I said "ripped superhero" was NOT in the LIVE video, but it is found in another NBA video game trailer floating around.

@tsbmolina - The argument over which game, which game system, who is right or who is better will never cease, like a political debate, people just tire and move to another subject until it affects them again. But you are interested in facts, and until we get any, everything on next gen is moot.

However we only need to look in the OTHER forum to see how many fans are fed up with bugs and glitches(11 pages already in less than 3 weeks) to warrant a major changes in the genre, or a new competitor to the platform to bring about good to great changes for all.

I am hopeful for improvements both games, and a fresh approach (LIVE) is definitely needed for overall improvements from both game designers.

If you deny the OTHER game has been broken online for awhile, then you too have ingested too much Kool-aid.

If LIVE delivers online play like they did in FIFA, Madden, and NHL, with similar graphics, they will put a big dent in the competition. I don't buy a sports game to play against the CPU all the time, I want to play with my friends, old and new, and the good sim forum players I have met on both platforms.

I don't understand why according to some, we're only supposed to judge trailers by the positives and not the negatives.

Especially when trailers are edited to highlight the former and hide the latter. If we see more than a few negatives, we're actually justified in being more harsh in our evaluation.

Also the YouTube dislike-to-like ratio for the trailer is extremely unusual. That's because what the trailer showed was unusually bad. Or at least fell unusually short of expectations and hype. Anything that is mildly entertaining on YouTube has more likes than dislikes. What we're witnessing is a phenomenon and can't be blamed on "haters" or excused with dismissive handwaving.

I don't understand all the secrecy by EA surrounding this game when they release a hot mess such as this trailer.

# 634 hesko @ 10/21/13 03:50 PM
floor spacing is good. also like how the ball moves realistically after dunks. players on floor seem to follow the action too. meaning they seem to follow where the ball is. just adds to the game imo.

# 635 hesko @ 10/21/13 03:52 PM
oh yeah defense reacts to offensive movements is another plus.

# 636 hesko @ 10/21/13 04:03 PM
both companies showed what the other did not. we will see whos best come november. don't be stans or fans. just supporters of good products that deem themselves worthy of our money. happy hoopin'. hesko out.

# 637 TUSS11 @ 10/21/13 04:09 PM
Stationary iso's looked good. D-Wade's dunk looked good. Jumpshots and Kobe's post fade looked good. Everything else looked like it was mo-capped by C-3PO.

The way Nash and Kyrie drove to the hoop...
Spoiler

Who knows though, maybe the game will provide a solid basketball experience if you can ignore the atrocious player movement. I'm sticking with current gen for a while so I'm not really concerned. But hopefully by the time Live 15 rolls around they'll have something presentable.

# 638 turty11 @ 10/21/13 05:37 PM
omg thats what you come out with EA? kiss your franchise good bye forever.

every player had the exact same "160 pound lookin" body....and they all look like they belong on cartoon network..

# 639 strobox88 @ 10/21/13 05:50 PM
Visually non-impressive outside of the player faces, but I'm more interested in how well it plays. NBA Live 14 won't win the realism trophy, but if it plays good, fans should be happy to get two good NBA games to play this year for next-gen consoles.

# 640 iverson_2k @ 10/21/13 09:35 PM
Knowing EA we will have to wait till Friday to get any new trailers or updates. EA make this game 19.99 like NFL 2K5 was and you definitely take some market share away from 2K. Only problem is making up the development costs when you sell the game for a 1/3 of the price.
