Yeah I don't know why those guy's think there isn't enough dunks. I seen plenty of different dunks. BTW D Wade got some nice one hand dunks, and a baseline 360.

Saw around 10 dunks in the first minute alone. Some looked similar but I think there was a good variety of dunks overall. Thanks for the video.

not trying to start a war with this new guys, but i honestly think some of them came into the demo with their minds made up that this game was gonna suck.

First off like playmakers said we are mostly grown men whom love the game basketball and well as the virtual representation of it.

Second, most of the guys thats been on these boards since i joined, dont have a cetrain loyalty to a certain company ie.. 2k vs EA. We just play the game that best represents the game we love. For a few years, EA WAS putting out a product that was not up to most gamers standards for a few years (I enjoyed the hell out of Live 09 actually.) 2k ending up being the game of choice by many including myself. Whoever gives me the best bang for my buck gets my $60. Im sure most of us feel that way.

Third, this game is far trash. In fact based off of the demo, & given what i know about Synergy & how it will continue to improve the game throughout the year, this game will surprise alot of people.

Fourth, There is a huge learning curve! Czar, Beluba, and Marcus all said it would take time to adjust to the controls. I was struggling just like most of you at first, but evertime i played the demo, i learned something new. Im not quite ready to deem myself as a master of the controls just yet, but i will say i have a better grasp of the game.

My last point since i got alittle long winded. You can control your layups either left or right hand. Im still trying to get the euro step down but its in there cause i did it a few times in the hangar. The a.i is a bit strange, but Mike said its fixed in the retail version, and to my knowledge he hasnt lied to us yet. Like my man CZAR says "You have to play basketball, not video game basketball." Once i got the 2kism out of my system, the whole control scheme opened up for me. This post is for the person who is still on the fence and doesnt have the demo yet. Based off of some of the post, you'd think the game was Live 07 LOL! Just play the game that best suits you. If you dont like live, you have another great alternative to play so its a win-win, but please stop bashing the game in the nba live forum just to express your negative feelings every 5 post.

In closing, i want to thank the whole Live Dev. Team, as well as the CZAR for leaving his family to travel the Canada just so we can have honest unbiased impressions from the game. Thanks Live team, for the communication all year long. I know you guys dont have to do it, but you choose too! Hell posting on these boards probably became a second job for you guys! I as well as many others appreciate it greatly.

Played demo a few times, tried to get they hang of the controls, had problems with them. Maybe its because I'm a 2k fan, I just could not get use to it yet. The demo just doesn't feel like you are in the game. Players seem to move a little akwardly. EA has done a great job with presentation and graphics, players maybe a little too shiney though, but all and all if I bought the game it would take awhile to get use to but I think I could have fun with this game. Not trying to start a war or anything but Probably still leaning towards 2k this year.

Great post.
Now if everyone else would comment on the game this way. Just because your not feeling the demo no need to come in here and start making stuff up just to bash the product. Just post your dislikes and keep it clean. I know I'm new here, but still, it gets ridiculous some times.

I'm still having trouble with boxing out. I read on here that you box out with the Y button which is also used for jumping. That's where my main problem is. Sometimes when I want to box out, I jump, when I want to jump, sometimes I box out.

I really like what they have done with momentum shooting and the LS stick. At first when I pressed X and back on the LS, I expected to do a fadeaway, but to my surprise they do a step back animation. This works as well if you press the LS forward and press X you might get a hopstep. With Kobe in the lane, I've had success tapping X and forward on the stick to set up a hopstep, or sidestep, then pressing X again putting up a shot in the lane. If the defense collapses, I hopstep into the lane then dish out for the three.

The loose balls are really unpredictable and lead to unique scores and scenarioes. Sometimes you get lucky, and the ball just bounces your way.

Tried the demo yesterday and, after reading previous comments, i was expecting more. Graphics and presentation look great, although some players looked a lil too light skinned and shiny, but the gameplay still had that same old live feel. Player control and movement doesn't feel that fluid. The momentum fadeaways look nice though. Something about the shots doesn't look quite right also. I noticed some old dunk animations from live 05-06 also. Overall, i still think they have more work to do on gameplay.

Ok, finally saw Gasol get the ball at the top of the key drive and euro step for a layup, I'm really hoping this is not in the retail. CPU offense just doesn't flow like it did in the Live 09 demo. And I know Beluba said he doesn't think it's an issue in the retail. But shouldn't he know for sure. I'm sure they got the retail game sitting in front of them. Can pop that in the 360 like he fired up the demo to see.

Also in 09 demo they were using particular DNA information for different playoff games and you could tell the difference. Don't see that anywhere in this demo.

I only played the demo maybe 5-6 times but i really enjoyed what i seen. Graphics were phenomenal, and I found the gameplay to be an refreshing (and entertaining) change of what I was used to from past live titles. I also found the demo hard but I was constantly trying to run a new play and the unfamiliarity of the playbook is what could have cost me. I liked the help defense, I beat Fish off the top (with some nifty dribble combos ) and as soon as i got in the key the defense collapsed and swatted. One thing I didnt like though was sometimes I would attempt a pullup (with my finger on turbo) from the foul line, but my player would drive through traffic right to the hole. Shots looks smooth, drunks look smooth. Everything looks great, a few things feel off. But overall a positive experience.

I just played this at my friend's house since he has 360 and I have PS3. He was telling me how bad the game was, while we were just shooting around in the Hangar. I chose to use the Magic and he took the Lakers. Oh boy.. I can see why he says this game is such trash. He just kept giving it to kobe pushing the right stick in all different directions, wasn't really chaining moves together and was just forcing himself into a shot. I dominated him 28 to 10. It was my first time playing and I was just trying to play as the game flows and it worked alot better than his attempt in playing his style. The entire time he was complaining how this game is such bull**** and you can't drive the lane without losing the ball and Kobe never makes any shots in. Game felt pretty solid to me, I just don't like the manual rebounding. Maybe I need to spend some more time on this.

# 675 The 24th Letter @ 09/13/09 12:34 PM

# 676 H to the Oza @ 09/13/09 12:36 PM
I forgot to add in my above post, I really ****in hate the blocking animation. It looks like theyre jumping out of the ****in building.

# 677 Rocboyz101 @ 09/13/09 12:38 PM
Also, I noticed alot of 2k heads don't like it, because its so different from 2k. The player control and sim feel IMO more then makes up for the at times un-natural look.

Yeah he's a beast IRL also, but not the way some people wanna use him..force layups and dunks over at times 3 people.

Lol. I like that, too, even though I have to wait til Thurs. to really see what's what but the challenge sounds like it's definitely there. Too many people want things to be easy. Heck, if I learned how to play the complicated 2K9 isomotion control scheme (which was really not to my liking but I learned it, anyway), I am down for Live's. The momentum and control scheme sounds awesome (uhh, did I say "awesome"? Wow).

# 679 The 24th Letter @ 09/13/09 12:42 PM
Oza...i agree on the blocking....especially in situations where you have to react quickly..

# 680 The 24th Letter @ 09/13/09 12:46 PM
yeah rocboyz....i for one think the kobes and lebrons should be ridiculously hard to stop in games...b/c they are in real life lol...but like in all games it can be exploited....including this demo from what im experiencing...
