SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 - Electronic Arts announced today that a playable demo of NBA LIVE 10 is now available for download on Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace for all Xbox LIVE Gold Subscribers. Play as the Orlando Magic or the Los Angeles Lakers and re-write, or relive, last year’s NBA Finals match-up. The demo will be available to Xbox LIVE Silver members and on the PLAYSTATION® Network™ on September 17th, 2009.

With a renewed focus on creating an authentic 5 on 5 basketball videogame experience, NBA LIVE 10 introduces a myriad of gameplay improvements to the long running franchise. In addition, all new dribbling, passing and shooting systems now give users more control over individual players than ever before seen in the franchise. Gamers can now control every movement as they break down a defender on the perimeter, drive to the basket, and finish at the basket using their left or right hand. From dishing no look passes to releasing a step back shot early or late to avoid a block from a defender, NBA LIVE 10 lets you to create highlight reel plays on your terms.

NBA LIVE 10 also features significant improvements in the franchises overall presentation. Arena specific lighting and crowd behaviors, signature pre-game rituals and celebrations, evolving storylines, and an all new broadcast package are just some of the many enhancements that will ensure that NBA LIVE 10 looks and sounds like a real life NBA game.

graphics are pretty good on this game except they made all the players too shiny.

Game is alrite but why is the Lakers so overrated. Especially Fisher and Bryant. They seriously need to fix this quickly because I can just imagine some of the other players on here. It makes the game not fun, its very frustrating.

Superstar is decent, but I feel like instead of playing better defense there's just excessive turnovers. It can play great at times then just be completely uneven at others.

I'm not overdribbling at all, I try to hit VC with 2 moves and Kobe dribbles off his foot? Come on now. The real problem here is that none of these defensive animations force you to pick up your dribble, which would be more realistic, instead you have players tripping on themselves and turning the ball over. This is the NBA, those instances should be a rare occurance.

I'm going back and forth with the CPU winning and losing, but I just wish the way it played out was a little better. They don't play better basketball on this level, players just become capable of things they shouldn't be. It's pretty funny watching Pietrus dropping contested fadeaways on Artest, but on the other end Ron can't knock down the wide open 3s in the corner I'm feeding him. Why is Howard shooting and hitting fades in the post over Bynum? Its fine the first couple times, but when it happens consistently it makes you shake your head.

Criticizing this game in here seems blasphemous though. I'll probably get chewed out by some dudes sporting EA goggles. Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but this level is completely uneven.

No reason to get chewed out, that's your opinion and fortunately enough.....we all have one. And my opinion is I'm not having the same problems you and some of the others in this thread are having.

One thing you'll learn in life is EVERYONE will NEVER like the same thing. And EVERYONE'S perception of the SAME THING is DIFFERENT. That's life.

And with that being said, this is a great basketball game to me. I haven't had this much fun in a b ball game in a long time. The fundamentals are good to see. Is their room for improvement??? Sure, theirs always room for improvement. But I like what I'm seeing so far.

There's a way to slow down the big men so you shouldn't let that discourage you.

The skating is definetly back in Live 10 after 3 years of being gone.....

I don't know what can be done about it if it's in the final build. I guess will have to waite and see then try some things that might work if the game speed is lowered.

I was impressed overall with the product but like all demos I get bored in a hurry with them so now I'm waiting on the final build to see what exactly has been finalized and then go from there afterwards.

That's why i said just hang in there and waite for the final release because we can still edit some things ourselves if need be

I see to notice that alot of the ppl that are bashing the game have under 10 post. Some with just a couple post.Anyway I like it so far it plays a Sim game. I also liked last years game it got more playing time than 2k9. I just got to get the controls down and really get into it. But its a big step from last year.

Love this animation when playing defense...

When trying to close in on a Kobe/VC... cautiously moving in, very tentative, as if the defender knows the ball handler is just waiting to blow by him.

Very nice.

I didn't think I would but I actually like playing this game on the superstar level. I can't wait to try out my Heat and my second favorite team the 76ers.

Players rarely wait for the ball to get off the rim before they go up for the rebound, there's an obvious amount of goaltending going on.

I have no doubt some of these things will be addressed in the full game. Just thought I'd point them out though.
I have seen more than enough of Gasol doing those types of moves. He shouldn't be dong a eurostep around pietrus on the break.

The rebounding is the difference between me picking this game up or not. If someone actually had a video showing them boxing out and rebounding manually and the requisite timing, then I could be swayed but at this point it feels broken to me. Whether it is or not, all I know is that the frustration rising from it would burn me out so I hope its tuned better in the final.

I agree there should be mainly animations that pick up your dribble instead of them just making you lose the ball. I tried to put a friend onto the demo and he turned it off within minutes because he felt he was losing the ball for no reason. No one likes a steep learning curve when its combined with frustration.

OVR I think superstar does alot of things better than all star though there are instances of players being successful where I (and the DNA) don't think they should be. I had one game where the Lakers decided it was going to be over as they started off with 4 contested 3 pointers. Back to back from Kobe, then Fisher, then Artest.

you have to anticipate the shot or dunk. if you wait until they are in the air, its too late. Its differnt from 2k but it does work. much better than last years blocking.

Any body start all the bench players to get a better look of there likeness in the Intros?
I did it with the lakers and IMO they're pretty much spot on.

I also put Lamar on the IR and the story line for the game said Odem was out of action.

Constructive criticism please you are not defending your reason for that statement...

Why are you STILL here on this site with your 5yo hateful blurbs and rants?? I'm calling your parents and telling them to take your computer away cuz you're really not cute and your desire for attention is extremely misguided.

I'll give live this. Comparing it to 2k9 I like the movement in live much better.

I felt like I was stuck in mud playing 2k9. The dribbling and collision animations just ruined 2k9 for me. There was no space.

Now 2k say they have fixed the space issue but now they are going to slow the game down. I can't see how that would be a positive after playing 2k9.

That being said this feels more like 2k7. Not as smooth but it's in the ball park.
I wished they included a few cameras with the demo because I haven't played a basketball game without the 2k view since 2k came out.

That's the only way you can really feel that your on the court. This side view is for the original PS and Genesis.

So far I'm impressed and this is from someone who played over a 1000 games online of 2k7/2k8 and was ranked in the top 50 on both.

This isn't as good as 2k7 or 2k8 but if 2k releases a rushed unfinished game this year I will be buying live.

Well see.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the demo. Yeah it might have the odd quirky animation or rocket dunk but it plays NBA Basketball and that is pure goodness for me.

I'm also digging superstar over all star. Such a great challenge and makes you really work on offense and defense.

That's actually working for me as well.... If you wait too long then your chances drop dramatically. From my experience of course.

Got some nice blocks in the paint at the top of the shots arc.

i really like how the teams and players generally play the right way.
i like the pace. i like the sim nature of the game.
the graphics are great.
the presentation is great.

the animations have improved but there is something about the rim and shot physics that seem off to me.
the rebounding? wtf,...why is it so unresponsive?
at first i thought i was pressing the wrong button because dwight was not attempting to rebound.
but i wasnt. its just real unresponsive.
you press the rebound button and a half second later the rebound attempt is made...
this is pretty poor.
