SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 - Electronic Arts announced today that a playable demo of NBA LIVE 10 is now available for download on Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace for all Xbox LIVE Gold Subscribers. Play as the Orlando Magic or the Los Angeles Lakers and re-write, or relive, last year’s NBA Finals match-up. The demo will be available to Xbox LIVE Silver members and on the PLAYSTATION® Network™ on September 17th, 2009.

With a renewed focus on creating an authentic 5 on 5 basketball videogame experience, NBA LIVE 10 introduces a myriad of gameplay improvements to the long running franchise. Gamers can now control every movement as they break down a defender on the perimeter, drive to the basket, and finish at the basket using their left or right hand. From dishing no look passes to releasing a step back shot early or late to avoid a block from a defender, NBA LIVE 10 lets you to create highlight reel plays on your terms.

NBA LIVE 10 also features significant improvements in the franchises overall presentation. Arena specific lighting and crowd behaviors, signature pre-game rituals and celebrations, evolving storylines, and an all new broadcast package are just some of the many enhancements that will ensure that NBA LIVE 10 looks and sounds like a real life NBA game.

Yeah Marcus, I've read it. But I just thought it had to do with the content of the audio, like just one song at The Hangar and too few storylines...anyway, my worries were pleasantly in vain.

Thanks!

Have anyone noticed how different the net animates depending on the shot arch of the players? For instance, long rainbow shots from guys like Fisher and Pietrus always makes the net splash as smooth as ever. But flat shots from Kobe and Wade will never have that effect on the net. I'm loving it...

The demo is great with a few issues here and there.

- Goaltending is inconsistent. Players that block dunks is considered a violation, but grabbing the ball off the rim isn't?

- Out of bounds. Players can stand with one foot in and out.

- Degree of difficulty on shots. Doug Collins has commented on both teams shot selection a little too much for my taste. Ron Artest making contesting 3 point shots (sounds like him, so I can't complain too much about that). I was able to hit a long leaning 3 point shot with Nelson off a screen (he was open, but it looked silly). What set it off for me was Fisher knocked down a contested 3 point shot in front of Dwight Howard and Nelson at the buzzer which befuddled Collins.

- A.I. stands around too much. After scouting the player DNA, cutting off the passing lanes of player's favorite spots on the floor causes the current ballhandler to stand around for the majority of the shot clock. Shouldn't we see a basic post entry pass from that point? Maybe an isolation?

Playing on Superstar btw.

well, ive found that the RB button tightens up on your man on D so thats a plus, ive played the demo a couple more times and starting to love the "smoothness" of the gameplay. there's one thing thought that bothers me, and that is after a fastbreak every once in a while, my guys wont match up on D or switch right away or at all for that matter. not a big gripe, but sometime i would end up w/ Derek Fisher on D. Howard, i havent bought LIVE since the 90's, but that may change this year.

Yo, this game is AMAZING!!!!! I've written up to reviews only to accidentally hit the back button and lose the information.

Basketball fundamentals is all I can say. Just had a steal and a breakaway with Michael P and the defense didn't magically catch up, jammed it with 2 hands as I was pushed in the back and fell screaming for the foul call. Just wow!!!!!!

More in a min, back to the game.

Oh yeah, baseline exploit has also been fixed. But also had situation where I was Nelson going to the baseline and Fisher was bodying me up all the way and basically bodied me out of bounds, but a foul was called on HIM!!!!!!! Wheres the YAY!!!! smilie!!!!

the more and more i play........The more this game becomes awesome! after the wow factor wears off, this game(demo) really starts to shine. i have a few gripes mainly icon passing but thats due to the new control layout, other than that im even more pumped for this game than i was. the pics, and videos dont do the game justice. i have never had the type of control in a bball game like we have now.

Some guys will not like this game. Point blank. IMO, More Control= Less room for User mistakes! Im so glad EA took this approach with their bball title. Id rather have full control over my players than to just trigger an animation and watch it play out.

Mods, is there anything we can do about all of these new guys signing up just to troll and bash games? Not just in this forum, but all over the site. This is NOT the 2ksports forums or any other message board that tolerates this type of behavior. When you have new guys bashing vets like Czar etc.. thats purely uncalled for.

Back on topic, any tips from mike, marcus(pippen), or any members on icon passing will be greatly appreciated! This is going to be a great year for bball gaming!!

Ron Artest comes clean around a screen in stride for a 3......the arch on the ball, the net animation was AMAZING. Walks back down court with both hands held high as the crowd erupts!!!! Just WoWzers!!!!!!!

Absolutely LtOVE the perimeter game, and playing defense. It's like a game within itself. A mismatch in the game is really a MISMATCH. And not just one possession but every possession. Had Nelson and switched off on Kobe, could not stay with the fella AT ALL, he literally abused me, straight to the rack!!!!!! You see the little circle at the bottom of your player with the arrows, as you push the left stick to the left or right, gotta guess which way the ball handler is going, and you can't be too hard on the L stick either.

Back to the game.

Ok. I might just be seeing things now but I hope I'm not. Just saw Artest giving attention to Howard in the post all the while trying to stay with his man. As I pass the ball to Howard he immediately came for the double team, Vince cut down to the basketball as I passed it to him, help defense came he had to adjust his shot but still managed to make it. I mean the stuff I'm seeing is literally happening second after seconds of me playing the game. I mean this is incredible. This is basketball. Props to Mike Wang, Steph, Iminurbase, and all the EAC staff man. Just WoW!!!

Ok. This is thearou CPU mind you. Just saw Bynum come up and set a screen for Kobe. He drove to the basket as Howard came over to help and they made contact in the air as he made Kobe adjust he shot. When Kobe came down after the shot he was holding his back like he was pain, and Marv said it appears he has just been injured.

Ok I'm done. Yall enjoy man. I'm done.

Ok, this game is off the chain! This is the best basketball game I've ever seen graphically....and I'm a fan of both games! The tight control is the most advanced I've ever played in a basketball sim. The player models are spot on. That Lakers court is unreal! From the lighting to the Finals logo and emblem in the center with the amount of detail and no blurriness is epic! It really stands out on my TV cause I play on a 52' LCD Sony XBR4 with the 120 hrtz technology in it...so all the little details stand out!

The only thing to me that is missing are the put back dunks but I'll settle for the tip ins for now knowing Beluba said it'll definately be in 11. Once you get the controls down this game is a beast. I mean you can throw lobs of the backboard for goodness sake.

The size ups are nasty. Can't wait to use Derrick Rose! The moves in this game are crazy hot. I've had no problem playing defence or rebounding at all. I believe if your complaining bout those two things be patient, learn the controls. There is a large learning curve. But you have to be willing to learn especially if your use to playing 2k or using the old Live controls. The injurys and what not immurse you in the game. All the different little animations inbetween are such a nice touch. If your a fan of basketball sims you Must own this game period!

Some of you on this form have been very critical of a great Demo. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion.....but be serious people. This game is undeniable. Some of you just dont want to give it a chance or see it succeed for some reason which is fine, but what gets me is when you start being rude to the devs. They go out of their way to interact with our community, which is much more than what I can say about some other companies.

So grow up people. I for one like that they take the time out of their day to communicate with us and I don't want to loose that just cause a few of us act like 2 year olds...or are so drawn to the competition that you make bad comments or give bad reviews just to make people believe the game is wack which is lame in it self!

I wont go as far to say it's over or Live is way better than 2k cause I havent played 2k, but I will tell you what majority of you have come to already realize....and thats that Live is back!

Liking the game a lot (especially on Superstar), but I've noticed that the CPU does not like to hold for the last shot at the end of the quarter/half. If they have the ball with the shot clock turned off, they do not try to run the clock out and go for the last shot. They will run their normal offense and leave at least 6-10 seconds left on the clock. It's not a huge deal...maybe a product of the short quarters or the demo, but hopefully this isn't an indicator of wonky end of game decisions by the CPU in the retail version.

I co-sign this!!!

And on defensive, it's momentum based as well as how quick your defender is. I like it this way, you can't just run around all over the court like a chicken with his head cut off trying to defend the whole team. You gotta play fundamentally sound basketball.

Also you can NOT, I repeat....CAN NOT abuse the dribble and size up moves with every player, try doing it with Michael P, he'll lose the ball. You gotta be sound man and know your personal. I'm liking this man, your on to something EAC. Just had a sick alley to Howard.

I'm an online guy, and I'm addicted to playing the CPU right now, what in the world is going on man!!!!

Just finished one more game. I'm getting the hang out of the low post moves and D-12 is being crowded with double and triple teams. So, I'm dishing the rock and the 3-point shot barrage is coming down strong on the champs. Still rebounding like a mad man, can't see why people are complaining...anyways, back to the game.

I can't get enough of this game. I have played it at least 20 times. I keep on playing the demo over and over again.

Same here!!!! I've logged in a ton of games, and every game LITERALLY FEELS DIFFERENT. Haven't used the Lakers though (not a fan). Just played a game where the Lakes were stealing everything man, I mean I was making bad passes all over the court.

I'm SOLD. Can't wait to get a hold of the Retail version. Could this be the nfl2k5 of basketball games??? I'm seeing so many nice little subtle things. Had a play where I pump faked with Lewis drove in and the help defense rotated (Bynum) I rose up for the slam and clanked the ball off the back of the rim and it went flying but Bynum got a piece of it as well cause it was a goal tend call.

One thing I am noticing though is I'm still getting a fair share of defenders to bit on the pump fake, it hasn't been too bad as the help defense has been their a majority of the time. I think it might need to be tone down just a slight bit.

Once again, excellent job EAC, I commend you on all of your efforts.

Also love the low post fighting for position animations and trying to get around screens. I notice when Bynum is guarding Howard he'll front him in the low post sometimes, and also side check him to a certain side of the court with his arms in front to deny the pass. Just excellent work.
