Power Pros 2016 News Post

Baseball fans, don't be sour. Look above, and feel the power! It's a new day on PlayStation 4, yes it is! For the first time in the platform's short history, Konami is bringing one of their two Nippon Professional Baseball games to PS4. Power Pros 2016 is targeting a Spring 2016 release in Japan on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, and that's all we really know about the game right now, based on an official press release that contains one teaser screenshot.

A new version of Pro Yakyuu Spirits is also being made for iOS and Android, and that product is far enough along in development that Konami has posted a pretty detailed trailer to their Japanese YouTube channel:

Pro Yakyuu Spirits Ace should be available on phones and tablets sometime in 2015, according to the above video. Konami's also uploaded lots of in-game screenshots and a few paragraphs describing Ace's game modes on its Japanese webpage.

Note that I'm still having fun in exhibition mode. I probably have hitting difficult set to the 3rd level (so normal maybe?) just above the weakest (I think there are a total of 7 levels) with the CPU overall difficulty at around somewhere just below the middle level. With respect to CPU pitching difficult, I can't recall at the moment. I probably have the CPU pitching bumped up to the max (but can't recall exactly).

You're able to bat ok with digital cursor? I used to like batting analog and having the option to click & hold L1 to switch to digital on the fly. Not sure why they took that away. It seems like it should be that way because even if you select analog batting you can still adjust digital speed so why? In any case, for now you have to choose one or the other - and changing digital speed has no effect on the analog cursor.

Is there a way to mess with the rosin bag in Jikkyou?

(note: With PYS, pushing the right stick down picks up the rosin bag.)

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I can't seem to get it to work.

I'm press left on the d-pad, I'm pressing left on the touchpad, I'm pressing the center area of the touchpad, etc. etc. Nothing seems to work.

Left Touchpad works for me. LT will make him kick the dirt on the mound.

Still loving this game. Just wish I had more time to play it

Is it possible to lose access to players that you've unlocked on the powerful festival player select screen?

I just started a new festival tonight and noticed that the first player I had unlocked (Tachikawa) is no longer available on the opening player select screen.

I'm guessing this happened because my player select screen was full, and it just replaced my oldest acquired player with my most recently acquired player?

This would suck if true because Tachikawa was my most leveled up and most used player in the festival mode. Having a pitcher who can also bat well and play in the field if needed is hugely beneficial in this mode.

I don't think so. As your list of unlocked players grows you can only choose a certain amount when you start a new festival so some will not be available. It seems to be random, but no worries he will eventually re-appear and still be leveled up.

Just got my hands on PYS 2010.

Lost the first one 2-0 and then won 5-3, but my god I can't hit in this game.

I put it on the timing mode to be the most "Show-ish" and still struck out 13 times in the win.

Have to learn how to see the strike zone. Getting no walks is just rubbing me the wrong way. I put it on Hard- pitching. It was two aces (I had Darvish - forgot the opposing pitcher's name) so I'll say that was why. I only walked 1 batter myself. Gave up a 2-run bomb in the first then settled down.

Going to have to find a camera angle that works - that's one area I love The Show for...customizable views. I think I'll use the TV (set) view, that looks closest to the one I use in MLBTS.

I love the pitch speed, though. Suddenly, I'm not early on 97 MPH fastballs all game and no wiffleball curves and stuff . I can't wait to get good at hitting so I can crank it up.

2010 is a great game. You really need to try cursor hitting. Put hitting assist way up and bring it down slowly. The game plays worlds better. Konami never did get the timing hitting down as well as Sony or 2k. Really give it a shot.

# 334 KBLover @ 08/26/16 10:43 AM
I'll try that when I play today.

I tried getting to the site and only get a blank page. Didn't try the forum but I can't get the main page. Just get a white screen, no errors or anything.

Don't know when it happened but it was fine for me a couple days ago when I went in.

Oddly enough Power Pro translation is coming up so hopefully it is a short term thing. Looks like the same guys do both games.

I imagine you just need the link for your game 2010? Here it is.

Thanks. I had it saved and noticed it was still up so I was glad for that. Some things are missing (that's what I was using the main site for - I figure those things are still universal to any edition so they are on the main PYS site), but overall I can get the information (and google translate app fills in the rest )

I'll look into that website issue. Earning walks is not a problem with CPU pitching set to Hard minus. Condition (happy or sad face) plays a big part in that. In exhibition games you might be up against guys with good condition, but in season mode you'll face aging vets that come in all beat up and you can pound them or work them for walks.

The 2010 version (and most others) it's too easy to paint corners when pitching. What I do is set it so that I pick the pitch type & location and leave the CPU to determine release timing. We call that "1-button mode" in pitch settings. If you really want to be in charge of release then look at the pitchers hand instead of the shrinking balloon, you can still throw pretty well but you'll also toss up some farts.

And yes cursor hitting is the way to go, with no hit assist on the variety of hits you'll get is crazy.
