Power Pros 2016 News Post

Baseball fans, don't be sour. Look above, and feel the power! It's a new day on PlayStation 4, yes it is! For the first time in the platform's short history, Konami is bringing one of their two Nippon Professional Baseball games to PS4. Power Pros 2016 is targeting a Spring 2016 release in Japan on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, and that's all we really know about the game right now, based on an official press release that contains one teaser screenshot.

A new version of Pro Yakyuu Spirits is also being made for iOS and Android, and that product is far enough along in development that Konami has posted a pretty detailed trailer to their Japanese YouTube channel:

Pro Yakyuu Spirits Ace should be available on phones and tablets sometime in 2015, according to the above video. Konami's also uploaded lots of in-game screenshots and a few paragraphs describing Ace's game modes on its Japanese webpage.

I have all of the games Konami made except for 2015. I have all the games installed to the hard drive and I find some let you start with enough VP to have all of the stadiums and unis unlocked from the start. Is this true of 2015?

Two things:

1. PS4 analog sticks stink when hitting. Nothing that will ruin the experience, really, just less than ideal.

2. Is there a detailed guide to editing roster names?
That's pretty much my one concern with the game, especially if I also use the same controller to play NBA2k basketball. NBA2k aggravates the left analog stick. The sensitivity becomes pretty insane. The on screen cursor just twitches like crazy if I use the same NBA2k controller.

I now have a completely separate controller devoted specifically to Jikkyou.

This can be turned off in settings."

With that said he also remarked how it's sort of a gimmicky thing for beginners. As long as you are mixing up pitches you shouldn't need to use it. I noticed it's more forgiving on fastballs probably because most pitchers throw it around 65% of the time. In other words if you throw too many breaking pitches in a row & the CPU is now expecting it then you might have a problem. You can get away with stringing together some fastballs.

I tried to replicate this with no luck so am not sure what's going on. Once you make changes in "Arrange' and save it then it should automatically load. You can switch to default rosters by clicking the RB button in the exhibition 'Team Select' screen. Perhaps you are enabling this? Other than that, in 'Utility' the save button is also the load button so you might try loading to see what happens.
Thanks! I turned off the bars anyways, I was pitching worse when paying attention to it so I just pitch by feel now. Also no pitching point, strike zone, or any indicators, it's amazing playing this way.

About the lineup issue still no clue about what's up with it. I saw that R1 function you mentioned , but I don't use it. I just tried another exhibition game, 1st game it loaded up my custom lineup, I go back to the main menu , select another match and now it loads the default one. Did it again and it keeps loading the default one every time. My game is possessed. It doesn't really matter anymore since I'm playing pennant only.

Yeah , just tried a ds4 on ps3 for PYS and insta-noticed that the DS3 is WAY more precise on smaller movements. I got a ps3 a week ago after owning a ps4 since launch day and I'm really impressed by everything on the DS3 besides its terrible triggers

I was hoping it was only a matter of the game being developed with the ds3 in mind. But if you say it's still bad on the ps4 game then it's probably a controller's problem

Can someone please explain how to edit player names?

I want to edit names to English before beginning a Pennant Mode. Can't seem to figure it out.

It's pretty straightforward you just go into the arrange mode from the main menu, click the team that you want to edit, go to the screen that has the big collection of all their player names and then change each name one at a time:

Thanks, man.

Going to be a lot of work editing every name but I plan on Powerful Pro to be my lone sports title this winter. Should be worth it

In the main menu "Arrange" you are taking an existing team & saving as a custom team (you have I think 55 slots to do so.) You can then pick which custom teams to use in Pennant.

In Pennant you can also edit teams & names.

Just thought I'd mention this because you can go into "Live" and DL user created teams. If you don't think you're going to use that function then you're best off editing in Arrange.

Thanks for the responses, fellas. What I decided to do was edit in arrange mode. Was able to compete 4 & 1/2 teams so far. Once finished I willl transfer all edited teams into pennant mode.

If I'm not mistaken, maybe "spirits translation" can add to this, you can only transfer 4 teams into pennant mode. Better to change names while in pennant mode.

I think that was an older version limitation. You can now take up to 16 custom teams into pennant.

# 411 jyoung @ 10/31/16 07:49 PM
You can only add 4 new teams to pennant mode.

But you can also replace all 12 existing teams with any custom team that you have made.

So in total, you can take 16 custom teams into pennant mode.

Time for me to switch Pitch Preview Cursor off. Absolutely murdering fastballs now that I am comfortable with the game. 15 hits a game is no fun.

Just noticed one thing on PYS. When touching the rosin bag your pitcher actually throws faster than when throwing regular pitches.

My pitcher fast ball is about 142 km/h , but when I touch the rosin bag he throws at 147 km/h.

I'm doing it before every pitch as it doesn't seem to be any downsides about doing it, and now the cpu is averaging like 2-3 hits a game against me (I usually give up between 7 and 10 hits). I need to raise up the difficulty since I discovered it

This is on PYS 2011, don't know if it's the same on the other PYS/Power pro games

Edit: I think it was a fluke, it's probably that my timing gets better and I get better realeases

Didn't know there was a version 2 Dualshock4? Anyone using it to play Jikkyou Power Pro 2016 and what is your impressions with the left stick sensitivity.

Interesting, it seems the biggest difference is that you can now play with USB input which I thought I was doing?! I always have my controller plugged in but it turns out the DS4 has always been bluetooth controlled only! Go figure.

In your Amazon link the guy who wrote the top review says it makes a big difference in FPS games so this is encouraging. I always play with the controller 3 feet from the system so I'm not sure if it will benefit me too much. I might be getting the PS4 Pro, if so I'll report on the difference if any.

New update coming for Power Pros 2016 on April 27th that will provide 2017 player data.

Guess this means no new version this year but it does mention they are preparing a new title for next year.

I heard that Konami is releasing PYS on odd years with roster updates on even years and releasing PP on even years with roster updates on odd years. This is to cut down on costs.
