From dishing no look passes to releasing a step back shot early or late to avoid a block from a defender, NBA LIVE 10 lets you to create highlight reel plays on your terms.

NBA LIVE 10 also features significant improvements in the franchises overall presentation. Arena specific lighting and crowd behaviors, signature pre-game rituals and celebrations, evolving storylines, and an all new broadcast package are just some of the many enhancements that will ensure that NBA LIVE 10 looks and sounds like a real life NBA game.

I usually give a demo a run through once or twice and that's it. I can't get enought of this demo at the moment.

The strategy is what pulls me in. I'm a fan of the strategy in text sims because those numbers mean something. I always felt in console basketball, it wasn't the same. No matter what was on the court, everything/everyone felt the same.

Not here. Love the individuality of each player. It's great to know how much I enjoy the demo with the knowledge that the retail will improve the experience and then the patch will improve it again.

Well i think if they had left some of things alone and just added more animations and improved the player logic we wouldn't have to waite for Live 11 to be THE COMPLETE GAME.

The single player experience simply didn't wow me at all.

But the head to head factor i found very fun because it brought back memories of Live 05/06 in terms of fun factor and control.

They did add some features I like but the action on the floor itself was hit or miss because way to often i'd see a JOKER on the floor do something that just got under my skin in the demo. Believe me I played on each level found a couple of sweet spots with sliders on each level and would enjoy about 4-5 straight possession and then BAM some b.s. would pop up that I saw in 07, 08 and 09.

Other than the hyper atheletic dunks on head to head play i never saw that b.s from the players and that most definetly IMO has to do with the human player basically controlling the guy. But get them on their own for an extended amount of time and you start seeing *^&% that you know NBA players wouldn't do. I don't know how complete the demo version is but i hope it was somewhere around 85-90% and then that extra 10% leaves me HOPE.

By the way did you get NHL 10?

INCREDIBLE is the word for it IMO.....I thought NHL 09 was sick but they actually found ways to even make it better......

I see...well, not a big deal for me...I think it should be available as a breakaway jam or something at least...

But I agree that's definitely not a realistic move to pull off in-traffic.

I have given up on playing as my lakers in the demo Lol.

On offense its just a nightmare every one of the Magic guards shuts my players down. Knocking balls loose and taking it coast to coast for some "awesome dunks." I can hardly get past these guys and when I do "The Enforcer" is waiting for me.

I literally give up on open drives to the basket when I see him around. If He even sniffs me coming in the in the paint he's either gettin a steal or blocking a shot its that simple.

And it doesn't even matter when he's matched up w/ a guard on the perimeter because as soon as I get by him he blocks me from behind. And if I try and kick out to the perimeter the guards are there to pick it off.

My post players don't fair any better because they can't get a shot over the top. If they beat him with a quick move he just blocks the shot from behind.

On defense it gets even worse because I get attacked from all sides now. Nelson and Lewis bomb 3's all day and I have no answer because my teammates never get out on them. Even when they do its to late the shot is already up.

Carter and Pietrus run the mid range game all day. They pop out from those screens and burn me all the time. When I stop them from hitting that they force the drive and 90% they get by me because "The Enforcer" is constantly setting moving screens.

Games where I address these guys is when "That Man" starts to eat up the boards. He gets so many dunks I don't even get angry any more I just accept I can't beat him.

Transition buckets are not even apart of my game because I can't get clean looks because of the speed demons. They become little enforcers waiting until the real one comes blazing down the court.

So thats my story I've just given up on playing w/ my favorite team. Maybe I'll see the "light" when I play the full game on the baseline cam.

WOW!

At first i thought you were joking. Based on your post Jano why don't you lower the CPU's shot block slider for dunks and layups.

Why do you guys play the game and just let it happen without making any changes?

IF they are knocking down 3's there is long range shooting slider you can reduce for the CPU.

If your guys are not playing any defense increase the Help Side defense slider there is no other way to get them to rotate this year because that's the only slider that controls your guys. The on Ball Physical defense slider is no longer around now so you have to increase your players defense with that other slider i mentioned.

If your getting killed on the glass how about increasing the Defensive rebounding slider.

Not trying to be a jerk but why do you guys allow yourself to play the game see the issues and still not ADJUST anything?

I understand you want to play the game the way it is released but some of this stuff whether people want to admit it or not won't be corrected unless you adjust it to your gameplay preferance. Why keep playing and after 10 games the CPU is shooting 55-60% from 3-Pt land or blocking 6-8 shots a game on 4 minute qtr's

That doesn't make much sense to me at all. If you want to play the demo and have fun while playing it who made up RULES that you can't change a damn thing?

I've read like 50 post where people have issues with the CPU stripping them of the ball inside. HELLO there is a hands in the post slider you can JACK UP way high to help you out or lower the CPU's ability to strip the ball another slider in the game.

Or Play it head to Head which is IMO the best way to go based on the demo.

Puts on Flame resistant suit.

Or we could just get better at the game, and not use sliders for a bailout.

WOW!!! This game is crazy.
I just manually split a double team with kobe then did his patented one hand 360. Best thing user controlled that I have done so far, it was nice.

For anyone wondering how I split the double team. I just pulled back on the stick then crossed right and I had a open lane to the basket.

Thats sick Ray, havent been able to pull of something like that. Theirs so many things you can do in this game its kind of mind boggling that so many people are having issues. I mean this demo is the closes thing to tto the game of basketball that I've ever played. No its not perfect but it does a ton of things right. Like I said, for me Im an online guy and I just might be playing more dynasty this year. I see something new every game. And Im sure the retail will be a little more polished than the demo. Although 09 demo wasn't really any different at all from the retail. So Im hoping they put alittle more polish on the retail after demo release.

Does anyone know how to do the wrap around behind the back dribble?

# 997 donkey33 @ 09/17/09 09:54 AM
Haven't seen this before in all my games but ball was dumped into Gasol in the post. Gasol backs down, tries to put moves on me (Lewis) but I was guessing right and holding my ground. Gasol threw up a turnaround from just inside the elbow and airballed it, lol.

Never seen that before and it was great to see as it looked like he was struggling to get the shot off in the first place.

You have to use an attack dribble by pressing up on the right stick and your player may do the move. As soon as you see it you have to branch out of it in order to get a drive to the basket.

I actually was able to pull one off but it was spoiled by "The Enforcer" who anticipated and timed his block. Didn't even get in a full 360 before he blocked it Lol.

And to Playmakers I know I can make slider adjustments but its not worth it for a demo. I'm just going to play as the Magic because I just have an easier time with them.

In the full game if I'm still having these problems then I'll think about making slider adjustments. I'm not going to torture myself w/ the Lakers anymore.

4) players movement still stiff and robotic

5) player's lighting and color is unrealistic (too saturated and 'cartoonish'). The courts and the areanas look beautiful though.

6) the new FT meter is way too easy.

7) ONE button for shooting/lay-ups/dunking is ridiculous

8) pressing the 'shoot' button near or around the lane causes the ball-controlled player to go into an automatic animation that lasts way too long

9) for all those ripping Playmakers.....he's right. Major revamping is needed via Sliders tweaking. Unfortunately I don't know how much of a difference this will make as it might be nothing more than just a 'placebo effect' as someone mentioned in another thread.

I was really looking forward to Live10 (based on Live09) and I came away extremely disappointed.....to the point that I deleted the demo from my 360 and will not be purchasing Live10 this year as my NBA game of choice.

For those who enjoy the demo, more power to you. Have fun.

1 it sounds like you are playing on rookie or pro and
2 it sounds like you came into the demo hating live already b/c none of that stuff happens to me. Kobe never gets ripped by vince when i have him or when im vc and the cpu has kobe.

you said player movement is still stiff and robotic. lmfaooooo

I can tell you are used to 2k's running around spinning crossover dribbles until you get to the basket for a dunk w/o losing the ball.

Like da czar said you have to play "basketball" not "video games" with live 10.
