Haven't played the game yet (RROD two days before demo release) so i'll have to wait till thursday when it comes to psn.

I've been watching videos on youtube for 72 hrs now and i think the game looks and plays well... i like how efforts have been taken to ensure the game plays like a real basketball game.

Top cheeser moves that plagued both series seem to have taken a hiatus:
1. Doing consecutive spin moves in traffic
2. A play i like to call "InboundFastbreakOffense" ... self explanatory
3. People hacking the steal button to screw up player movement by forcing the steal/protect animation to kick in
4. Inbound ball steals where they stand infront of the inbounder and hack steal
5. "Tour du France" ... where they driving lane seems wide open and defenders become spectators
6. The infamous baseline dunk animation where u cant seem to miss unless the defense plays 1-4 defense.
7. People Hacking LT and RT then quickly combine with shot stick to drive into the lane 80% of the time its a foul and 1. With this move, you could turn Jeff Green into a scoring machine...so imagine what people did with KB24.

I read the article when OP writer went to play 2k10, and it seemed like its more of the same...but until we get a demo from 2k10 so we c for ourselves, it's just gonna be the same ol same ol.

One thing im just meh about is the transition between animations in live 10...some seem jerky and clunky, however, it could largely be due to the fact that the guys playin in the videos are forcing the issue rather than play basketball. Same can be said about any game... someone who sucks can make the best game look like shyte.

So far i'm sold... so far as 2k10 doesn't produce something better...which i doubt.

Quick ? for CZAR, Marcus, or Super B,

What build is the demo? Czar, did you see any of the issues in the retail version that are in the demo?

I played a few more games last night and every time I play a new game i get more into it. I can stress enough to some of you guys complaining and having a hard time you have to play sim ball. We have to relearn how to play the game.

I'm hoping the Dev team doesn't start to feel the need to dumb the game down any based on complaint. We finally have a sim game and I'll be damn if we go back to that fake basketball of yesterday.

This game is so rewarding if you are willing to take the time with it. Leaning how to play the angles on D and knowing your team is priority #1. You have to understand that D. Fisher is going to struggle all night against Rando, so you'll need to play off of him for the most part, in the post advantage goes to fisher because of his size. Get what i'm saying. This game is doing what no other basketball game has EVER done by taking into account each individual player.

I also love the block and how dunks are contested. I posted earlier that there was no momentum in block but i've to realize thats not true. Playing D is so engaging I find myself wanting to be involved in every play, so i'm usually on ball. Switching is fast so it's easy cover the court.

So i'm hoping the dev team stand behind this game and doesn't panic in order to please the non sim heads and start changing things. The only adjustment I'd really see tightening things up is the backdown button in order to make backing down more consistent.

I can't wait until OCt 6

I have a question for mike or steph...

Is there anyway you could add this in a patch...

When we get the ball in the post could we be able to raise the ball in the air like above our head or at least arms stretched out at face level. cause i feel there are way to many steals and turnovers in the paint.

I know the right stick has moves on it but i don't think pressing up on the right stick does anything and that would be the perfect spot to add it in. Pressing up on the right stick will raise the ball away from smaller guards who want to try for the steal and would make it easier for the big to pass out when the double comes.

if anybody else thinks this is a good idea let me know or if you don't think its a good idea let me know anyway.

I liked the demo, but it appears this game is just like Madden10, better but not great by any means. So many people see the developer give some comments and interact with the community and then start giving the demo and the actual game far more credit than it deserves. I still haven't seen anything groundbreaking or hype worthy.
Makes sense...people without valid points usually have to tear something down to make their words make more sense. The demo is very fun though and for me that's big cuz I haven't been excited about a Live game in a few years. People should be happy that there will two pretty good options this year.

I haven't played Live in ages, but this is going to be the game that brings me back.

Wow! That really sums up my feelings after spending a good-amount of time with the demo. This plays a great game of basketball. I'm still trying to get a handle on the controls, so the hangar is great. The only thing I'm struggling with is the low-post moves (how the heck do you do these?) and running the pick-and-roll. Apparently you can press the B button once or twice and your teammate will do different things depending on how many times the button is pressed, but I haven't figured that out yet.

I'm loving the size-up moves. It's a nice risk/reward. If you're overly aggressive, you're going to get stripped or get called for an offensive foul. But, you can definitely take advantage of mismatches and attack the rim or hit that mid-range jumper. I love it when I use the Magic and have Rashard Lewis blow past Pau Gasol; that SHOULD happen if the 2 are iso'd at the top of the key. Kobe also has his way with VC; I like faking hard to the hoop and then pulling back for a J.

Graphics look good and I like some of the pre-game elements that were added. The area feels full of life.

I can't wait to see the completed version but man, this demo really has me excited for Live 10. Well done!

Im verry verry happy to say Nba Live 10 so far is a solid game and i cant wait to play the full version. I look forward to having two great basketball games this year. im so annoyed my xbox has just red ringed on me though

Changing the speed really affects the way this game plays. The turbo seems non-responsive when set to the lower speeds.

# 809 23 @ 09/14/09 01:00 PM
Its best if you lower it by about 4 clicks or less though

It tempers down some of the animations and makes them feel even smoother

Totally agree. Before i played the demo, i kept reading the impression and people saying it was amazing or quotes like " Live is Back", so i came into the demo hyped for this game and to be honest i was dissapointed. I use to play Live constantly, i think it was Live 97' i played where they had rodman's hair changing, i mean i use to be a live fan boy but i feel that they have taken the route of Madden, in that they haven't innovated their game or completely fixed what is wrong. I still feel as if the players on the courts dont move as smooth and are more like robots. The player likeness just isn't there, everyone on the court seems to be thin and in perfect shape.

I think people bite into the hype so much every year with this franchise. I remember buying my xbox 360 and playing with Wade in the Hangar and seeing the close up when the sweat drips down and thinking "Oh s--t this game looks dope." But then you get on court and its garbage. EA needs to realize that they need to revamp the player models and turn down the cartoonish feel of this game.

EA doesn't need to "realize" anything my man.

The player models discussion is an opinion. For everyone who says they don't like our player models, you get a ton of guys who do.

Yeah they have a bit of that NBA Street Homecourt stylistic design to them (no coincidence there due to Santos), but it's just a matter of taste. I happen to really like the great skin textures and the overall bright, crisp look of the game, though I wish the jerseys moved in a more lifelike manner as the shorts do. I like the different jersey tucks though.. nice little touch.

NBA Live 10 pretty good game. Even tho I am a 2k guy. I will also be getting this ( Since 2k had something to do with the turn-around in live) Yes EA new devolper that worked for 2k is the main reason live is looking the way it is. But for now i have to give them a thumbs up.

# 815 Dantecamp21 @ 09/14/09 01:56 PM
Funny, Rob Jones said Mike Wang was just one of 80 people working on the NBA 2K series and wasn't like he was an engineer or anything...

Even when praising the game people gotta mention 2K...

Let's get it straight guys: in order to one game be great the other doesn't have to suck...we all want it both to be great, why stick with one when we could have two?

I still don't get it...

# 816 Pared @ 09/14/09 02:07 PM
It's an issue that goes on in both forums.

Let's just get back to impressions.

Marcus or Mike, any word on the proposed Post Up/Back Down button?

Maybe a good idea to post this in the patch request thread too...?

Is there any way the user can shoot around alone in the hangar? Or at least make it so that the other players don't shoot around on their own?

Dwyane and I are getting tired of LeBron and Dwight taking our ball.

Hey, DEVS...

Is there anyway you guys patch the game to have the players in the hangar understand the concept of "change" on made shots?
