NBA Live 10 News Post

SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 - Electronic Arts announced today that a playable demo of NBA LIVE 10 is now available for download on Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace for all Xbox LIVE Gold Subscribers. Play as the Orlando Magic or the Los Angeles Lakers and re-write, or relive, last year’s NBA Finals match-up. The demo will be available to Xbox LIVE Silver members and on the PLAYSTATION® Network™ on September 17th, 2009.

With a renewed focus on creating an authentic 5 on 5 basketball videogame experience, NBA LIVE 10 introduces a myriad of gameplay improvements to the long running franchise. Computer controlled players will now move and react like their real life counterparts with enhanced player A.I. (artificial intelligence), and authentic, team-specific playbooks. In addition, all new dribbling, passing and shooting systems now give users more control over individual players than ever before seen in the franchise. Gamers can now control every movement as they break down a defender on the perimeter, drive to the basket, and finish at the basket using their left or right hand. From dishing no look passes to releasing a step back shot early or late to avoid a block from a defender, NBA LIVE 10 lets you to create highlight reel plays on your terms.

NBA LIVE 10 also features significant improvements in the franchises overall presentation. Arena specific lighting and crowd behaviors, signature pre-game rituals and celebrations, evolving storylines, and an all new broadcast package are just some of the many enhancements that will ensure that NBA LIVE 10 looks and sounds like a real life NBA game.

Powered by Dynamic DNA, NBA LIVE 10 will use the latest stats, rosters and tendencies for all the players and teams in the NBA*. With data supplied by Synergy Sports Technology – the premier analytics provider for over 25 NBA teams, Dynamic DNA allows NBA LIVE 10 to provide the most authentic basketball simulation experience in a videogame to date.

Hey, DEVS...

Is there anyway you guys patch the game to have the players in the hangar understand the concept of "change" on made shots?
Tmagics rocking the colors HAHA! and that bit about"Dwyane and I are getting tired of LeBron and Dwight taking our ball. "

Hi-La-Rious.

I played several games over the weekend and as someone who plays 2k I found Live "fun". I found it challenging to say the least, trying to win against the computer on Superstar. It didn't take long for me to get acclimated with the controls and I didn't have a problem initiating the post or dominating in it. The only real problem I had was that ever so often my players would be just standing out of bounds when I passed them the ball or they would take forever to get across mid court.

I haven't played Live in a while so I can't say if its back or not but I do think its a fun game to play. I can't see me buying two NBA games since the majority of my friends play 2k but in my opinion Live is good enough for me to rent it to challenge the few that like Live.

I use to play Live constantly, i think it was Live 97' i played where they had rodman's hair changing, i mean i use to be a live fan boy but i feel that they have taken the route of Madden, in that they haven't innovated their game or completely fixed what is wrong. I still feel as if the players on the courts dont move as smooth and are more like robots. The player likeness just isn't there, everyone on the court seems to be thin and in perfect shape.

I think people bite into the hype so much every year with this franchise. I remember buying my xbox 360 and playing with Wade in the Hangar and seeing the close up when the sweat drips down and thinking "Oh s--t this game looks dope." But then you get on court and its garbage. EA needs to realize that they need to revamp the player models and turn down the cartoonish feel of this game.
Madden 09 was terrible because they assumed we should play the game the way they designed it. You couldn't change much of anything and the QB's were god awful without being able to enhance their skill.

Madden 09 had very good graphics but the reason why most people stopped playing it was because the game was a turnover fest and the so called built in AI enhancements didn't work.

This year Madden 10 plays solid out of the box but they realized they couldn't restrict the user from catering the game to his likings. Go over to the Madden boards you'll see there are so many more people enjoying the game again.

It has great graphics, awesome presentation, upgraded animations and the ability to once again create the game play you desire.

As for your comment about Live 10 I think the CPU in relation to moving on their own does look a little robotic but when the human player has control over the moves they animate and move pretty realistic to me. I guess the player models will always be a personel opinion. I don't particulary like NBA 2K's players models but they do animate the best I've ever seen.

You really don't like Live 10 at all do you? lol

I personally think it is, by far, the best Live ever. And in my opinion, a better looking and playing game than 2k9 in many aspects. Not saying it will beat 2k10 this year (which it probably wont), but it will hold its own.

Jump shooting is by far the best aspect of the game (in my humble opinion I should add).

The fluidity of the animations and the mechanics of it are very fundamentally sound. Add to it the ability to be succefull by learning to release the ball at different times in different situations and you have a truly organic experience.

Every shot feels different.

What I'm saying is, "What's there not to like about the new shooting controls in Live?"
I guess I was out of line saying you don't like the game (even though I think you don't). But it seems that to ask a person what they like about these new innovated controls should be a no brainer and not need a detailed explanation. Its an almost flawless aspect of this game. You've got to give them that.

I have tested it and it primarilyworks on the wings all the way to just inside the 3 point line but center court not so much because the defenders don't play as closely as they do on the wings.
Thanks for that. Nice little demo.

I started messing around with changing the plays... Used Elbow Ice 4 with Kobe. Worked real nice for getting him into his classic elbow post game, with a nice isolation too.

Why dont you just take the extra Ballers on ur side of the court and take them to the other side and leave only wade.

Learn to live in harmony with them. Relationships are give and take.

I hope we'll have the ability to set which players we want to be hanging around at The Hangar in the final version of the game.

I'm not sure if this has been touched on, but I liked seeing Brand Jordan players not only wearing Jordans, but also wearing Jordan gear in the hangar. I doubt the devs will respond, but I'm wondering how closely the EA crew worked with Brand Jordan to get the shoe designs and gear looking as good as they do.

Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul & Dwyane Wade are all wearing Brand Jordan outfits in "The Hanger".
