MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

I'm in the offseason of 2016-2017 with my Yankees, and I'm considering making a run at Yoenis Cespedes. I've already got Brett Gardner, Aaron Hicks, and Aaron Judge set to take the outfield with Clint Frazier waiting down in Triple-A. I don't want to drop Hicks from the lineup because he's played well for me, so I was thinking Brett Gardner should be the guy to go.

David Schoenfield proposed a Gardner for Luke Weaver trade on ESPN the other day. That seems like too little to me, but I'm not a big fan of the Jaime Garcia or Gio Gonzalez rumors either because I'd rather drop Gardner's salary and replace it with Cespedes if I was going to bring him on.

What needs to be added if Gardner hit .277/.329/.388 with 9 HR, 33 RBI, 62 SB for a 1.66 ShowWAR (he's hurt by some base running blunders by yours truly. I can't help but steal.)

The Cardinals meanwhile have a ton of rotation depth with Martinez-Wainwright-Wacha-Leake-Lynn set in the rotation, Garcia as the long-man, Reyes-Gonzalez-Coony-Weaver in Triple-A.

Leody Tavares and Joey Gallo for kevin kiermaier.

Gomez int doing anything for the rangers. Shoo is out for the year. They can move Desmond to left and play Kiermaier in CF. The rays get a prospect CF back and their 1st baseman of the future. Im playing as the rays btw.

4 years of KK would be costly but Gallo is clearly the prize. I think you'd need to swap out Tavares for Yohander Mendez so the Rays get a high upside cheap arm.

Gardner doesn't have a ton of surplus, hes mostly just a glove at this point. I think the Weaver offer is about right maybe with another throwin from the Cardinals.

Maybe something around Wacha is you wanted that route.

Interesting, I was thinking it would have to be Garder + for Weaver. Sounds like there's a Weaver + for Gardner thought here? Maybe it's just bias, but Wacha seems like would require more than Gardner.

Finally got round to finishing my 1st season of playing every game with the Rays and I'm looking to add a big bat against righties to the lineup, having had my offense somewhat collapse when I scraped into the postseason. I kept hold of all my major prospects and I'm looking at maybe Cargo in his final season of contract?

I signed up Corey Dickerson's for 3 years at a reasonable price so I figured he'd be a decent starting point to the trade (cheaper, more years under control, does similar job but to a lower standard) and I figured adding prospects on top. I'd like to keep Adames and Snell as they are in my lineup, but I was thinking possibly Brent Honeywell and Josh Lowe? Both top end prospects but a little further off the majors, what do you reckon? I could add a bit more if need be as I'm flush with SS and SP prospects

(For what it's worth, Cargo hit 22 homers at .273 last season in an injury shortened 95 game season, Dickerson hit 24 homers at .251 in 130 games)

Mariners don't have the pieces. You haven't given the White Sox a single A potential player there. That package is quantity not quality.
