My bad I didnt realize. Also yah in hindsight I am probably coming in cheap on Longoria just not a fan of the contract and the age at which it expires.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

Looking ahead to send Estrada somewhere in the off season. I know he grew up in California and played a lot of his ball there. In the game it also says he wants to be close to home so Im looking to facilitate a trade with a California based mlb team. Im thinking that given the state of certain teams like san diego and oakland who are rebuilding that they are off the table which leaves SF LAD and LAA. Which team do you guys think would be most likely to acquire him and what kind of prospect package would he bring back. Or what kind of mlb ready reliever prospect package.
Also wondering if dwight smith jr would be enough to get john axford from Oakland when the deadline nears. As oakland is already very far out of it so I know he would be someone who would be available

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

Week before the deadline in my Red Sox franchise, its a madhouse for the wild card spots with about 8 teams within 6 games. I need an upgrade in my pen as i am looking for a lefty reliever. I was thinking JP Howell but the Dodgers are in contention so that does not help them. McGee from Colorado was another option but he's out for the season. I was also thinking Diekman but I am unsure of what his price is. Texas is in it but he's been terrible for them so I don't think they would mind trading him. I like his abilities so I am confident that if I get him he will be useful. Thanks

I don't know that a player outside of Trout could be worth $367M over 7 years.
Yea the only way he could get both of those guys is if he takes on Sandoval, Porcelblo and Price's (with his 4 year option picked up) back in return. And even then I doubt the Red Sox do it. They have no intention of going out and getting a new DH in the mold of a David Ortiz. They are going to use the position like nearly every other team in the AL. As a stop to give a guy rest during the week or for our young guys like Travis, Moncada, Shaw, etc. Dombrowski had a conference of some sort this week and said this.

And if DD was willing to trade Moncada AND Benintendi we wouldn't have gotten Drew ****ing Pomeranz at the deadline it would have been a Sale type pitcher.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

As the Yankees with both Gary Sanchez and Brian McCann on my roster, I don't want to waste a spot for just a back-up catcher that probably will never play, so I was wanting to get someone that can play catcher in a pinch if I ever needed it for some reason.

I was thinking about Peter O'Brien since I can use him in other spots as well as a pinch-hitter. He hit .216/.266/.393 with 22 HR, 69 RBI, and 1 SB for a -0.63 ShowWAR due to horrible defense and 153K's in just 514 at-bats, I imagine.

What's it take to get him?

I think the rangers willingness to trade him depends on how holland and cotts are doing at AAA or majors stats wise. Any team contending is going to want at least one lefty in the pen and diekman although not having a great year is the best they have right now. Some other options depnding on standings would be
Oak Doolittle
Sea Furbush
Mia Dunn
Pit Bastardo
ST.L Duke
Ari Chafin
Det J.Wilson

Not entirely sure on Obriens value. Id imagine a prospect on the same level maybe a pitching prospect as arizona has clearly been highly valuing pitching of late. Also Jordan Pacheo is another option who is slightly older and would be very cheap can catch and play any infield position other then short.

Thanks. I will look into these. What would be the highest price I would have to pay for any of them including Diekman?
