I tend to agree, although I think the ability to defensively handle SS is far more valued than the capability to play CF. I do think a solid pitching prospect would have to be added, but I also think the Marlins are so desperate for pitching, that factors in as well. From an unbiased perspective, if I was the Marlins I would take Matuella and Profar for Ozuma, with the intent of extending Profar after one year of solid production, to a team friendly deal (with his injury history, he might jump at that). But it depends where the Marlins and Rangers are at in the franchise, Marlins don't do that if they are competing.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

So entering year 4. One of my 12 teams is Arizona. In off season, LaD offers me grandal and Pederson for pollock. Both had sub par seasons while Pollack had a decent year. Fair value? I took the deal btw as I was in bad need of a catcher

In back to back seasons, I've managed to land Chris sale in Seattle and Manny machado in sd.

Well you didn't post any associated information for people to use so how could anyone have responded?

A reason to use WAR to compare - positional adjustment already gives a higher "bonus" to the SS.

So if the SS and CF have similar WAR, they are about the same value according to the metric - with positional scarcity already accounted for.

Are the Marlins desperate for pitching in his franchise? I don't remember the exact post, but I'm not sure we got any info on how the Marlins are doing, which is an important piece of information.

And you already took the deal? I am not sure the point of telling you to do it or not when you haven't given stats, and you already did it.

Aside from all of the valid points quoted here, it seems as though your game keeps getting more and more sprawling. I believe it started at simming 2 seasons and controlling 6 teams. Now it's simming 3 seasons and controlling 12 teams. Pretty soon you will sim a decade and control all 30?

Point being, and I can't speak for everybody here, but I have no desire to expend any brain power over deals for so many teams in a franchise that seems to keep getting reset or that seems to expand all the time. This might be another reason why your posts go unanswered, in addition to the above quoted responses. Just a thought.
