If your the type that pays attention to that stuff it starts to add up. Listen 2k12 had some people who normally play 5 -7 minute quarters bumping it up to 9-12 because the pace of the game and the flow was so good.

It's not perfect but I had so much fun while playing you just want to continue to play. And there are SOOOOooooo many matchups and playstyles.
You got me hyped up now Czar, to bad Larry Brown and Rick Adleman currently aren't coaching. Would love to see a video game run a Larry Brown system perfectly, a ridiculously slow paced game and defensive oriented game. At least we have the '02 Kings, Adleman's team are always fun to watch offensively with their ball movement.

Well like 2k admitted in the Insight, there were MANY plays that were just flat-out ineffecttive, so I imagine if they truely fixed this issue and every play has the potential to work, then we wouldn't need to mess around with the playbooks as much.

So bitter my son scratched up my 2K11 disc right now and it doesn't work! Damn, I love this series! Only sports title I play from midnight release to the day before the next installment releases.

No I'm not implying. Just saying peiple are choosing to play this game for longer quarters than normal due to the pace and flow of the games.

Just my personally opinion, I always felt ranked games should be 6-7 mins. Never thought 5 mins (20 min game) could determine who was better consistently. Thought you might have been implying a potential ranked minute change. Thanks for the insight.

@Da Czar

Like last year, I just want to ask, how are the Triangle Offense plays in 2K12? I know the Lakers might dramatically not use it anymore in real life and the Wolves won't as well since they fired Rambis.

This leaking is pretty much PHX Suns run style ball

While it can win you games, teams that love to slow it down and rebound with bigger players, you can really get beat up on the inside playing that style and run the risk of not really playing any defense as a result also.

That little mini cherry pick style of basketball is ineffective especially in the post season when every posession matters the most.

There are definitely plus and minus' to this

Very excited about the new play call system. Cant wait for this game to come out

So much more options now!!! I never called many plays, but that will probably change now. Especially love the defense on the fly stuff.

The more I hear the more I . Rebounding is definitely improved then, when the ratings makes a difference on how many people need to crash the boards then we have some serious gameplay matches. Czar can we tell the difference in rebounders especially offensive rebounders like Noah?

I agree, ranked matches should be 6 mins quarters. Should give us half of the regular 12 min quarters they play in real life imo

Ranked matches should definitely be longer. People call me cheese because unless I'm down at the end and need to put in 3 point shooters, I don't sub at all during ranked matches. I just don't see the point in it. The games are so short and stamina isn't a factor. I would love to bring back the strategy of having to decide when to sit players and use different lineups for different situations. Especially with this in-depth playcalling system...

I agree! I would love to use the new playcalling system and sub my players myself but it seems pointless when playing only in 5 minutes...

Think 2004 Phoenix Suns. 7 seconds or less. Instead of crashing the defensive boards, players leak out to run a fast break offense.

Last year 2k gave you more triangle options than anyone else. This year I believe they gave you the best triangle. Since no one knows what the Lakers will run they still have the base triangle plays along with some plays that seem to make sense for the personnel they had prior to the lockout.

I WISH they would let me show you these offenses before the game comes out.

Yeah that came up too. While playing the feeling was we should feel Noah's impact more. So they made some adjustments. ( not sure if that is future insight material so I won't say which ones) But Noah much more of a factor this year on the glass. Again depending on the matchups.

Yeah hopefully we could have a 10 Days 10 Teams-esque feature again from you. Haha

It's good to have those Triangle Offense plays sticking around. But I have a feeling LA would be a pick and roll heavy team next year with Mike Brown and post up heavy team as well, a la Spurs with Twin Towers.

What I'm interested in seeing is how they actually move now when setting up the play. As smooth and pretty the animations are there are instances where the animation would play out and they end up running in place when someone is on the way. There is no break animation in between so off ball contact animations are needed.
