Hmm, gonna try that.

That shouldn't be needed, I'm fine with controlling certain parts of all 32 teams, but I wish I didn't have to. But supersimming every game? Come on.

# 263 tarantism @ 12/05/09 02:53 AM
I have been saying for many pages, turn down the HB1/HB2 carries ratio. You may still see crazy YPC numbers but I personally can live with that if it means more realistic rushing totals.

Also, on defense turn the run/pass slider more towards pass and then turn down aggressiveness. Most teams in the league should be at "0", with the highest being 40 (Eagles).

This is what I do and I get good results (though admittedly I haven't been able to try it with patch #2 because I am on 360, but it has proven to get good results before so I don't see why that would change).

Can somebody take the time to try this out and let me know if it helps at all? It would obviously take some testing to get it perfect but you should get some results right away.

Here's something I thought of for you stat heads out there. How about simming half a season pre-patch then simming the other half post patch? Delete the patch the do the same for season one, two, three, four, etc.

It seems like a lot of work but, if your that particular I think it may just be silly enough to work.

I'm currently halfway through season 1 of my franchise pre-patch. I'll let everyone know the final stats after I play the rest post-patch.

As somebody else already mentioned, can someone supersim a game and post all the stats? If the stats were corrected through this, I might be willing to do that.

Thank you Dfos81! You mentioned almost everything I was wondering about and I really really appreciate it. It sounds like the patch is going to be just awesome for us man v man competitors!

Just a suggestion control 1 team, deal w/ a few inflated stats and enjoy what was improved in the game.

WHICH WAS GAMEPLAY!

We cry for improved gameplay and they delivered.

I played 2 full games w/ these setting and sliders. Looking at almost every play in replay. So it took about 3 hours to complete these games.
---------------------------------------------------
15min 15sec acc clk
Playcalling: Advanced, shows more replays.

Normal gamespeed, normal TH,
Penalties: all maxed, except holding 50, facemask 50, and clipping 80.

Custom sliders

Passing 10

Sub-Sliders
QB ACC : 50/50
PASS B : 50/50
WR CAT: 50/50

RUSHING 12

BrK TaK: 40/50
Run Blk : 40/50
Fumbles: 40/50

PASS D 14

Rea. Time : 40/55
Int: 5/5
Pass Ru: 40/50

RUSH D 14

Reac Ti : 30/50
Blk Shd : 30/50
Tackling: 30/50

Just to let you know, when I 1st started playing on MY SKILL(before going custom sliders). My Skill was about 710 max and then it tended to drop down to around the 630-650 range.

Anyway,

I've noticed more gameplay fixes than what I expected. Heres 10 things I've noticed so far.

1. Lbs and dbs do cover better in the flats.

2. The trajectory on passes are lower now, so less chance for ints.

3. The qb will hold onto the ball more, thus allowing more sacks by the cpu a.i. and user if skilled so. Also less ints b/c of this fix.

4. Gang tackling seemed better tuned(pro-tak), I can come in now w/ a db, Lb, or safety and finish off tackles better.
Suprised b/c I didn't expect this at all. This could also be b/c of the better pursuit angles is giving more impacts on hits now.

5. Pursuit, its very nice to see D-lineman, Lbs, and dbs really coming from different angles now to stop the Screen passes
( ie. I saw a D-lineman catch me from behind b/c I tried a quick juke on a safety, I've seen Lbs and D-lineman come from the side to keep me from breaking it down the edge).

You really must catch them in a db blitz or engage 8 play to get any good YAC on these plays now.

6. The cpu will stick w/ whats working until you stop it. (ie. running the ball) of course coaching sliders will dictate more of what the teams style will be and they tend to stick to that style more so now.

7. I've noticed less overall cutscenes w/ more replays. I perfer the replays anyway.

8. My qb pass pct is 58-63%, which is about 5% lower than pre-patch.

9. Now these fixes mentioned above has also given me less points scored in games, which is my style anyway.
I used to avg. 32pts per game w/ teams like the Cowboys.
Now its down to about 21-24pts per game. Still the higher scoring games are b/c of defensive td or spteams td.

10. Played the Falcons and they were showing Falcons stat info in the lower part of the screen early in the game. No more Bengals B/s every week.

So to conclude,

After 2 fully investigated games, I would rather have this better gameplay and few skewed stats categories. The stats were skewed before these gameplay fixes anyhoo.

It seems it was tuned more so for defense now.

I did have 1 kr Td(w/ felix jones), he got some good blocks and just outran everyone down the sideline.

Now for the ones that say something is too easy, well thats what sliders are for. They work if you adjust 1 thing at a time to your liking.

I will update some normal custom sliders(over in the sliders forums tomorrow).
These will be what I'm using at this point. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...pdate-2-a.html

This is just 2 full games played, I'm sure I will see more as I go.

I will only control 1 team, b/c from my past experience adjusting 1 coaching schemes sliders may fix 1 stat issue, but then you see stats skewed in another area.

I'm more focused on how the gameplays right now. So I can have fun playing the game. I've never bought Madden to sim games anyway.

Hope this helps you guys out. PM for any questions or any feedback.
Thank you Dfos.

That's what some of us were looking for. A detailed description regarding gameplay.

# 270 DonkeyJote @ 12/05/09 11:24 AM
About the stats guys, now rushing yards are up high yes, and sacks may be a bit high (though I think 30 a guy saw was a fluke). But that's it. Passing yards, passing td's, rushing yards, receiving yards and td's, tackles, are all greatly improved by the patch. So I'd say it seems the patch improved stat tracking overall.

"2. The trajectory on passes are lower now, so less chance for ints. "

I don't get that one. I would think that it would be more ints because then the LB over the middle will easily be able to jump up and snag those passes.

Dfos thanks a ton. Like you All I care about is gameplay, and nothing more.

Stats I could really give a damn about. This is where I really see this as a video game, so my full attention is towards gameplay, and from what you posted it looks good.

Hey man don't go to crazy with sliders, and go enjoy the game.

Gamers really need to learn how to adjust the sliders to their skill level. It's not that hard.

Anyway Take care and good looking out on the info.

# 273 JkA3 @ 12/05/09 12:41 PM
Good patch so far. Game plays smooth. Flats are better. I've only played one game so far.

# 274 mm boost @ 12/05/09 12:50 PM
And you are entitled to your own opinion. I am not bashing people, I am telling them to grow up and quit being immature over a video game. Simple as that. No, its nothing like people making personal attacks to EA, especially in a period where they have been suffering lay offs and everything, that is just wrong. If you don't see the fault in that, then I don't know what to tell you.

Moving on, I can't wait to download the patch tomorrow and start back up my Cowboys Franchise. I lost to the Colts in my first Superbowl, so its time to exact some revenge, and this time I won't be hearing about the Bears or the Bengals during my games, thank god! I am really looking forward to the replay additions and the more fluid gameplay. Can someone confirm that the CPU/A.I. don't blitz as much as they did pre-patch? This was a major reason I hated playing on advanced to get replays, cause they would blitz more, so I was stuck to playing on hardcore and not getting any replays. I am pumped!

Nope..the higher the trajectory the more Jake Delhomme you are.

It has to do with lower trajectory and taking sacks when hit, not passes overall.

From EA forums:
"So here is the pass I was talking about in another thread. It is clearly caught. Then the receiver runs with the ball for AT LEAST 5 steps before being hit and "fumbling" it.

However, in PATCH 2, this is now considered an INCOMPLETE PASS.

http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/14081213"

Has anyone seen something like this?

And some other guys report that sideline chatches are even worse since patch 2 (pass ruled incomplete although receiver had more than 2 steps before he ran out of bounds)?

Obviously I can't say others will get similar numbers, but these are somewhat similar to the ones others have posted so far. The difference is that in simming 3 seasons, I didn't have a completely crazy stat total (30sacks, 2,600 rush yds). The one crazy one was the 8.3 and 9.7 YPC. The 9.7 was on a guy with just 133 carries. I can live with these stat trends overall, and the higher receiving and passing stats will be more fun to compete with since I have been having the top 3 in receptions and yards in my off-line franchise for my last couple seasons with patch 1. Also, I think these inflated stats are worth it with the improved gameplay (smoother running, slightly better CPU Defense).

# 279 Hiro1 @ 12/05/09 02:23 PM
lol at this thread good thing I play in an online franchise where all 32 teams are controlled. I loved the game b4 the p3ch and love it even more with the flats being better.

# 280 crumpled_heap @ 12/05/09 02:43 PM
Still no brown pants. How long does it take to make a pair of brown pants? A couple minutes? Did this even cross the mind of the developers?
