OK, I've played 4 games with the new patch and here are some things I've noticed:

-CPU/Human QBs still throw lame duck passes while being hit/sacked

-CPU throws toward sidelines that are CLEARLY in bounds are being called out of bounds (happened 3 times for the CPU in my game, and on replays they were obviously catches)

-No CPU challenges in the 4 games I played, and there were some very questionable calls that went against them (see above)

-Too many Hit Stick-caused fumbles (although this could be a sliders thing to adjust)

-Pursuit angles, at least in the games I've played, are hot & cold. In one game, I've noticed defenders taking advantage of the angles, but in the next they don't.

in actual football there are mistakes made by defenders and they do take poor pursuit angles. now i am not saying the game is trying to replicate error in judgment by defenders just saying it does happen in the NFL.

Did the patch fix the coverage in the flats? Hate seeing guy just throwing to the flats all day.

after a couple more games with this patch, here are some negs

- I saw the cpu make a catch near the sideline, it was clearly in bounds, guy tapped his feet 4 times pretty much and it was ruled INCOMPLETE

- The ball no longer spins on replays. smh. This is a problem on the PS3 version of NCAA, I dont understand it.

this game is improved tremendously post patch. Flats are better covered, the QB hangs on to the ball instead of just throwing it up for grabs, I've seen the QB scramble more often, the cpu defense doesn't sell out blitz on every 3rd down anymore, the clock runs/stops appropriately now, and the stats are better.

I was already enjoying the game pre-patch, minus the stats issue, but now, this game for me is golden.

Well done.

They compressed the graphics more to get longer replays - that's why the ball doesn't spin. Given the number of times a kickoff or long run replay gets cut short, that's a trade I'll gladly make.

For that matter, I haven't seen a replay cut off just before a TD post patch...did they fix that too?

THIS. You actualy have to worry about mobile QB's somewhat. They will run if no one is open. I posted in the gripe thread how they'll run like a foot and slide no matter if its a loss or not.

Glad to hear about the flats coverage being improved. Hate when you have a guy 3rd long & they throw to flats knowing they can get a 1st down. Can't wait till the 360 patch drops.

I'm loving the patch. Game is now playable vs the CPU. Thanks EA.

Agreed. Getting some excellent games against the CPU. It's too bad the sim stats still have some issues, but other than that this game is damn solid now.

That's awesome they don't sell out blitz all the time now. They didn't even put that into the blog details so I was wondering if that got fixed.

For all you PS3 guys, was some of the stats (rushing yards, sacks) the only thing that was made worse with the patch? If that's the case then I can't wait until Thursday or Friday.

Outside of blown sideline catches that are called incomplete when they aren't and the HB stats, thats all that i've really seen thats worse than pre-patch.

The sideline catches thing doesn't sound too good but other than that, sounds like the game is a lot better.

At first I was kind of upset about the stats but thinking about it, I've already gone through tons of seasons of Madden 07 and 08 on PS2 in the past where the rushing stats were inflated so it's not that big of a deal.

What is the sideline catch glitch? I've seen some catches on the sideline that were ok. Is it the animation where the receiver tries to keep his feet in bounds that you're referring to?

Very good patch! The stats being insanely high is the only complaint I have. Hopefully there will be a small patch to fix this.

Thanks for the info. Looking foward to it even more, although when it releases for 360, I will be one week away from getting MW2.

I tried playing a game yesterday for the first time in months. I figured for as long as this patch took to be released, some improvements had to have been made.

But I never got that far because early in the 1st Qtr, the CPU threw a pass and the receiver bobbled it out of bounds and dropped it near the bench. He was never in bounds and he never caught the ball yet the ref runs up, makes the 'pulled it in' catch gesture and rules it a catch........ 1st and 10.

I tried saving a highlight but I think the ref cut scene ruined it, it would only play for a few seconds.

I turned the game off.
