I see you've never played 2k's baseball franchise. They don't fix glitches in franchise that make it freeze and make it impossible to continue your franchise.

No, you're right there is no ball spin in replays. They had to do that in order to lengthen the replays.

And some other guys report that sideline chatches are even worse since patch 2 (pass ruled incomplete although receiver had more than 2 steps before he ran out of bounds)?
I had the catch and fumble once so far. They called it a fumble then it was challenged by the CPU and overturned to be an incomplete pass. It was a close call though so I wouldn't complain about it. He only took two steps with the ball.

Thats the only way to play now. Offline franchise has been ruined for me.

The stats are awful just like everyone has reiterated here a bunch of times before but thats not the worst part of it.

I simmed through half a season and decided to play a game against the CPU. Eagles vs. Packers. Apparently, the CPU has been on OS reading about the whole http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ter-bunny.html discussion. And the CPU Packers decided if OL ratings don't matter that they could just stick a kicker and WR on the o-line. The first play of the game the formation the packers chose had 3 WRs 1 TE and 2 RBs. I thought great a new bug that is messing up the count but then as the walked up to the line I saw the count was right. They had an extra WR playing LT and the Kicker Mason Crosby playing center. Trent Cole was pretty much stymied by the backup WR all game only getting one sack and Crosby gave up no sacks as well as doing a hell of a job in run blocking.

After the game I went to check the roster to see why this happened and realized they had no choice. Almost all of their OL were on injured reserve! Then I checked the FA market and there were no OL left I checked team after team and about half the teams didn't have 5 healthy o-linemen!! So, if you don't get frustrated by 3 guys running for 2000+ yards, 7+ yards per carry and 3 guys breaking the sack record each year from simmed games then going up against teams with kickers and WRs on the o-line should probably do it for you.

By the way, GatorBait posted way back about having a problem with the salary cap when controlling all 32 teams. I simmed 6 full seasons (3 controlling one team and 3 controlling all 32 teams). I had the same exact problem with the Saints by the end of the first season. I had to cut a veteran player and sign a rookie for 3 weeks straight starting in week 12 in order to keep them under the salary cap and have them with all the min. required players. This was due to the fact that so many linemen were injured for them and the CPU just takes the top guys (usually the most expensive veterans) at the position needed on the FA list. I also had all options for roster, salary cap etc. set to CPU.

Also, in my experience simming with all 32 teams by changing run pass ratio to 40/60 and RB1/RB2 ratio 50/50 for every team I ended up only having 2 2000+ rushers in 3 seasons but that just made the sack stats even worse. I had two seasons with a 30+ sacker. Trent Cole 30 and Jared Allen 32. In those seasons I also had at least 10 guys with more than 20 sacks too. So, I don't really see changing those sliders as the answer.

So in the end, I think the gameplay is improved but that doesn't outweigh the huge problems with stats and injuries that have made offline franchise, at least for me, unplayable. I think being in a 32 man online franchise the game would be great unfortunately for me I'm having a tough time finding a true sim league to join over here in Europe.

Hopefully there will be another patch to address these issues otherwise I'll have to put this game to rest.

I actually love this patch. Downloaded it last night and started a new franchise with new rosters for my Cowboys franchise, game played alot better, alot harder, and alot smoother than previously. It seemed like there was alot more defense and better tackling and better QB pressure. I beat the Bucanneers 22-12, I only scored 1 td the whole game, it was great being stopped like that, no more 70-80 point games it seems like. Defense plays smarter and CPU defense does NOT blitz all out like they used to. The new replays are awesome, put it back to Advanced Playcalling and I saw a ton of replays. Overall, Thank you EA for giving us this patch, it really improved the game and made a good game great in my honest opinion. Looking forward to the rest of my Franchise season and next year's installment of madden!

yes. The game seems to have sped up a bit.

Oh, man! No offense, but I hope you guys are wrong. I went back and forth between slow and very slow once I got the game (360), and slow felt like a real sweet spot. It didn't need tweaking.

Here's another question: anyone still seeing players break out of 3+ player gang tackles pretty often? It might just be me but it seems like this was still a bit of an issue after the first patch.

Wow, patch #2 is freaking pathetic. I can't even create a player now, how does EA even mess something up like that.

Is anyone else experiencing this same problem of creating players, placing them on your team and saving the roster and they're gone anyway?

If you have the latest roster update it's that and not the patch. For some reason the newest roster update won't allow any players to be created.

one thing that is still bugging me is that the cpu doesn't utilize the coffin corner punt. Just played the Chargers in the franchise that I re-started due to the stats being corrected, and 3 times I had them punt inside my 45 yard line and all three times they punted right down the middle of the field. Twice the ball went into the endzone and once it landed at the 5 yard line and bounced into the endzone.

Very annoying knowing that I'm going to start at the 20 yard line pretty much guaranteed anytime the cpu punts from my end of the field or even mid-field for that matter, if he has enough leg power.

Then again, I play as the Raiders, so I need all the help I can get.

CB , here is a question I haven't seen asked or maybe someone else can chime in.

Is the CPU still punting from the 35 yd line and not attempting a fg?

haven't seen it the 4 games post patch that I've played. The Chargers attempted a 53 yard field goal against me that came up woefully short.(kicked into 15+ mph wind) I was very surprised that they didn't punt in that situation...

This problem has plagued both of EA's football games for some time now. It's like the punters have no awareness whatsoever, if they are inside the opponents' 50 they punt the exact same way they do if they were at their own 20.

EA needs to put in some serious work in all aspects of special teams. CPU punting logic, kickoff return blocking (why do I have 2-3 front line guys sprinting towards the end zone right after the kick?), the kicking mechanic in general (field goals are nearly automatic), etc.

Same here, I've played the four preseason games in my Chiefs franchise and haven't seen a punt from that range yet. Longwell of the Vikings nailed a 53-yarder and then missed a 40-yarder wide left later in the game.

You can tweak sliders to fix this...Nothing to do with patches...
