ok, so the Jim Johnson tribute sticker was put in the game. but, just out of curiousity, is Jim Johnson still in the game? in my franchise (pre patch 2), he's still alive and is the head coach of the Panthers.
Here's some positive impressions I haven't seen posted yet...
The extra time allowed to finish post-play scenes had a very nice effect in a game I'm playing right now. With 5 seconds left in the half and a decent lead over the Jets with Washington, I go to kick a 40 yrd FG and as it passes through the uprights there's one second left on the clock. Now, in every Madden I've ever played, the precise cut-off leaves that one second to have to squib kick. In real life, however, the refs ALWAYS let the clock run that last second or two off to go to the half. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised to see it cut directly to the halftime animation of my team running into the tunnel.
It's the little things in life, I guess.
Also, the new replays after touchdowns were much needed and appreciated here. Now, if we can just get back the nice little ability to cause a replay ourselves without pausing. Back in last gen, I believe, you could press L2 and R2 to go to a replay at the end of a play.

after playing with this patch, i guess this is my thoughts.
EA now, at this point, has created a satisfactory next-gen football game.
PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Build from this and refine some of the small points, but don't mess anything up for next year's game!

another quick impression:
I just kicked a FG to put me up 30 to 19 with WAS @ NYJ and I saw a cutscene for the first time where the disgusted home fans were shown shaking their heads, getting up and leaving...
maybe the patch opened it up like how the first patch opened up the sideline ref conference over pass completions...?
one sad thing though... I'm still getting the fatigue hiccup in my run

thanks for the answer

I was wondering why.... I cant wait for madden 11 already then
It seems like robo-QB is back. CPU QB plays a lot better, killing you with short passes, than pre-patch.

hey guys i was away for a few days including the day the patch dropped so i apologize if these questions were already asked already.
1. i assume the flat coverage is better? what about zones in general?
2. has anyone been able to fix the high sim stat rushing numbers and YPC?
3. has the all out blitz by the CPU been controlled or do you still need to control all 32 teams in your franchise?

Has anyone noticed that after the 2nd patch that there is less "big plays"? What i mean by that is before the patch when I used C.Johnson (RB Titans) in my franchise he would break about 1 or maybe 2 big plays a game. Sometimes a WR would too. Since the patch I have noticed that the gameplay is a bit slower and when I spin they seen less crisp or fluid. NO big plays in 3 games since patch. Anyone else notice this? Or is it just me?

Has anyone confirmed whether or not Stadium Sounds made it in? I'm not holding my breath but I'd love to be surprised.
I've read through many pages but have not seen this asked. Does the computer blitz almost every play still? And if so, is it as easy to exploit open parts of the field because of the blitzing?

Different teams blitz more than others. its not an auto td now because of how they recover.

By the way, I bet the majority would notice the Seahawks jerseys being in more than they would notice the Browns pants being in. They get more exposure than the Browns, and those Green jerseys are known by most football fans more than brown pants for the Browns.
