That would be cool - would give STR a good use for QBs.

After the patch i noticed that when i would run the ball for a td and if i met a guy at the td line and a tackle animation would play and many times i would still be fighting therough the tackle and before a tackle cutscene would happen the when the cutscene of the refs decidingf if it was td plays before im tackled. its like the cutscene comes on too early. it doesnt let the tackle animation play out. It's annoying when im fighting for that yard and before i even get tackled the refs decide i didnt get the td. This is in the middle of the field btw.

I will say this years Madden has made some dramatic improvements,it obviously still needs some work. That being said since patch 2 Ive noticed Defense seems different, I notice my MLB getting more tackles than before which is good,as well as my defensive linemen getting more sacks without me controlling them which was another major complaint I had and it seems fixed!

Things seem a bit more balanced I am playing offline dynasty and I play almost all of my games so some of these weird stat glitches I havent noticed yet.As far as in game gameplay goes there are some improvements however the O-line still acts like a bunch of jerrys kids on some plays which is annoying and Im guessing at this point it is unfixable because it would have been fixed by now if it wasnt.

Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but I didn't see anyone comment on the 30 yard punts the CPU kicks everytime after the patch has been out. It wasn't like that before...anyone else notice this? I know it can be adjusted, but not in online franchise mode..

Finally had an opportunity to sit down and play a game with Patch 2- dare I say that I actually had a lot of fun. I was the Cardinals and played the Redskins. I won 38-21. Stats were pretty realistic. It was only on all-pro and found it a bit easy (don't think I was forced to punt once) on offense but it was still a good time. I got some decent pressure on the quarterback (had 2 or 3 sacks) and forced some turnovers. I sensed a bit of comeback AI at the end of the game but it may have just been me slacking off because I had a big lead, lol. Overall, I'm happy with this patch. Can't wait to start a franchise.

Man, if they just could have got the sim stats right...

Yeah...but sim stats are way off in a lot of sports games. I remember NHL 2004 having the leading points leader with something like 315 in one season. To give you a perspective on how ridiculous that is if you're not a hockey fan; Wayne Gretzky, the greatest point-scorer in NHL history, never had more than 215 in one year.

I don't know about a "lot" of games... The Show and NBA 2K10 seem to be on the money.

You'd know better than me, lol. I've only played football and hockey games lately. But if that's the case, good job out of them. It'd be nice to have the simmed stats nailed but it's not a deal-breaker for me. If the game plays well, I'm good.

Definitely not a game-breaker, but when one of the main bullet points of Patch #2 was improved sim stats and nearly every running back breaks multiple 50+ yard TD runs every single game, that's a problem. When the sack record is being obliterated every year, that's a problem.

Because the franchise mode is relatively bare-bones, the big selling point of it is all of the stat tracking it does. But when the stats are so hokey, it really diminishes that aspect of it.

I second this (at least, on The Show front, haven't played NBA 2K10). The Show has a couple of things that are off a bit, like closers having more saves tha IP (though save totals themselves are fine), but overall, simmed stats in that game are great.

# 493 vikingsfan1 @ 12/19/09 01:28 PM
I still have not had a instant replay after TD.

# 494 roadman @ 12/19/09 01:34 PM
I just made a post in the 360 thread.

I had two things happen in the same game that I've never seen before in 10.

1. A PI call against the AI. After patch 2, all 3 PI calls (out of 10 games) were against the user. I rarely saw a PI called at all before patch 2.

2. A CPU challenged fumble. The CPU was ahead 17 to 13. And the CPU won the challenge.

Nice to see that occur.

# 495 Trustpt @ 12/22/09 11:20 AM
One thing I don't like is when the CPU challenges, they ALWAYS win.

# 496 mm boost @ 12/22/09 01:33 PM
Thats because normally when the CPU challenges, it has to be pretty justifiable. They normally won't challenge unless its a great chance that they will win. It's hard to predict human nature with an automated CPU team. BUT, on the contrary, I have seen the CPU lose 1 challenge on an fumble.

# 497 Levin @ 12/23/09 04:06 AM
I still have issues with the lack of replays. Although playing on advanced playcalling over hardcore seems to give me a few more replays as opposed to none.

Maybe I should try clearing my cache or something.

Alright, but common sense tells me that if 5+ running backs reach the 2,000 yard milestone in a season after doing some tweaking, the tweaking is not helping. Therefore, you don't release it.

All EA cares about is the fact that they have released 2 patches thus far. It's a symbol of their effort.

2011 better be DAMN good..

Common sense also realizes that people were complaining in numbers that the backup RB's ypc were low.

I don't agree with not releasing the patch. I don't appreciate the stats where they are, but I'll take the gameplay improvements of patch #2 over a few stats out of whack, knowing that they mess with franchise mode.

I've seen some slider strategies that will improve the yardage problem.

# 500 ComfortablyLomb @ 01/02/10 05:30 PM
What I'm noticing is the whacky YPC numbers for plus RBs seem to be inflated most by too many 20+ yard runs. Guys are regularly running for 200+ yards a game but it's not because they're actually picking up 8-10 yards a carry on a regular basis... they just have a few 50 or 60 yard breakaways in there and the numbers are being thrown out of whack.
