I love this patch. But I'm more into playing a competitive franchise with my stats being fairly accurate while putting in little work sliders-wise. I'm not worried about the rest of the league...as long as they give me a fight.

guys are the cpu QB still hitting the slot WR on most plays or can the stars get some catches

nothing worse than seeing A. johnson having 2 for 23 and the slot or RB has 8 catches

Did they fix the team facts that pop up during games? They were all jacked up after the first patch.

I can't remember a single Madden game where I ever worried about the CPU's top WR. I just cover the slot guy and the TE and that's about all you need.

This would be huge if they could get it correct.

I love how the deep ball coverage is done currently for top WR's. You have to be pretty skilled to master the deep ball. But it can be done. I salivate when I have one on one coverage. While it may be slanted a bit towards the hardcore players. I love it because noobs just cant spam the deep ball on me. There is a reward for being skilled and that is all we can ask.

in the past gen versions the top WR's actually were utilized more.
but now,Wes Welker is God. he catches what he wants when he wants and with his 85 sp rating is faster than my fastest DB.

when i sim games i leave the depth chart as is,but when i play i have to change it.

i put the WR with the best block ratings and str in the 1 spot and my best WR in the 3 spot while leaving the #2 guy in the #2 slot

I don't know if this is a big deal but I've noticed that the ball doesn't spin as fast as it used to, like every pass is a lazy spiral that barely rotates. This is especially clear in replays. Has anyone else noticed this?

yes...its due to them compressing the replays more so that they can be longer.

played the Chargers yesterday..

Vincent Jackson had 4 catches for 60 some odd yards

Antonio Gates had 6 catches for 80 something yards.


Rivers completed 21 passes in the game. So take it for what its worth.

With the patch, can you take control of your DLs (so you can actually cause some LOS disruption with out damn blitzing 50% of the time), and be more confident that your defenders are going to at least attempt to do their jobs in flat and hook zones more reliably?

Nothing infuriates me more, then seeing people just fire balls into these zones, with no consequences.

Is it just me, or is this game extremely harder now (given the right set of sliders)? I got my *** kicked by the Giants last night on week 2 of my season to open up the new stadium, 43-31. I was losing 34-9 in the 3rd quarter, completely dominated. I like the challenge, so its a welcomed surprise, but damn its alot harder to just pick defenses apart, you have to make the right decisions and be very precise.

I don't know about everyone else, but my defense is playing great football (with the exception of Brandon Jacobs trucking over everyone last night), I haven't allowed over 250 yards in 2 games. Josh Freeman only had 192 yards passing. I had 6 sacks in the first game and 3 last night, 2 by linebackers. Seems like defense plays more like...defense. I am actually have hard fought battles now, its awesome!

I'm more concerned about user vs user.

User vs user pre patch is a game of screen, drag, flat, slant..and you had to manually over commit to cut these routes off.

Ideally, Id like to mix things up manually along the trenches, and if I have a defense called that should reasonably limit the %'s of these routes being completed, can I now trust that my defenders will attempt to make the plays that they shold be in position to make.

Game plays alot smoother now. Don't know if defenders acknowledge recievers in their zone (played online) but it's most certainly more effective now. The flats issue has been fixed greatly. I don't know if the defenders warp over there or what but the days of worrying about the flats are somewhat over. Overall it plays 10X better than before but I'll update this post when I play offline with more impressions. Right now I'm addicted to killin' people online, lol
