I'm just gonna come on here real quick after player about a quarter and a half of basketball to express just how impressed I am so far with the improvements made via patch. The first thing that stood out to me was how GREATLY improved the defense is on all fronts. No more stupid AI teammates leaving men open for no reason, no more stupid AI players going way out of their way to leave their assignments for help defense. Finally, when I go into coaching to do player defensive assignments/pressures it actually WORKS and my teammates do as I instructed.

I'm noticing A LOT more contact on shots not only in the paint, but in ANY scenario in which you would expect contact during a shot (especially when you try to force your shot around the perimeter). A LOT less shots are dropping as a result and I am SO happy because of it. I'm playing as the Sixers vs. Nets in an NBA Today game, gonna get back to it and see what else I notice.

When is coming out for PS3 again?....lol (I know the answer) Damn... I might really go out and get an xbox after work. Just to see how much has improved.

Anyone here have impressions vs other users/human opponents?

I know we talked about alley oops and PIP/Contact.

The contact in the paint, in MY opinion, is all what people are saying. And it doesn't feel or look forced either! When I play for real, my game is in the paint. To be honest, I'm so used to contact, I think I'd miss a clean shot. The game is now reflecting that.

As for the fatigue, yeah, man. As I said, I think the folks that liked the fatigue as it was should have been more vocal than the whiners. I'm hoping it's still not exploitable. That's the part that's scary. We have sliders for the offline...

For those talking about the latest official 2k rosters and not wanting to use them because of the injury situations - what did you mean?

do you mean that the injured players will never come back to the active roster if used to start an association or my player career?

I would like to know, as I am dying to restart my "my player" career...and want this to be the last time! so I figured I would use the latest rosters and make some edits and then start it up....but now am worried about the injuries issues...please explain....thx..

This is a great thread! 2k Forums is just bickering, and complaining. Very few impressions. Great job OS! Sounds like the game is much improved. Cant wait for the ps3 patch to drop. Can anyone confirm if the develpmental drills glitch in association mode has been fixed? Thanks

What about online play...

- Can you now save your starting line ups/rotation minutes and have it carry over to online ??

- Do your wins get recorded now ?? (This might only be a PS3 problem...i'm not sure). I've played over 30+ games online but my record is only 3-0 ??

Sorry lol....Let me clear it up. What that guy wanted is that when you hold on shoot too long your doesn't release the ball. And he breaks his shooting animation and does this hold up in the air thing that doesn't look realistic at all.

This year that doesn't happen. No matter where you release it. Your play will look exactly the same for every shot.

In 2k9 it made all the jump shots look very glitchy if you held the shot button too long. In 2k10 if you hold the shot button too long. The only way know you held it too long. Is if you shoot a air ball. If you release it too early you'll either be short on the shot or trigger the tip the rim bounce off the shot clock animation (resulting in out of bounds)

I stop posting there...just because of that. 2kforums has a lot of children on there...And it is very sad.

But yea I want to hear impressions on human opponents and/or about online play...Anyone?

I don't know if they're neccessarily "new" but I am seeing ones that I have not seen prepatch. Someone mentioned this already too but not only are there contact animations in the paint but I am seeing them in the free throw line extended area as well. Basically anywhere contextually where there should be contact IMO, I am seeing them...

EDIT:
Loose ball fouls! I am seeing Loose ball fouls! I actually five in one game.

Well I asked because in 2k10 you can hold the shot stick down for 2 years and the animation still looks the same as a perfect release. I liked the ability to hold it a little longer to avoid blocks and etc.

But judging from your answer I guess they didnt address this.

I think I found a crazy glitch. 1st game after the update, 2nd quarter, I shoot one up with Granger and they call a foul and I make the basket. Everyone acts like no foul was called and run upcourt, stadium announcer says at the line to shoot 2, but its as if there was no foul called.

Thats cool, but now I cant control any players. The game goes into CPU vs CPU mode, and to boot, nobody can make a shot so its CPU running up and down the court missing shots. I call a few timeouts to get it right, but nothing works. I go into settings, and the game still shows my controller on the pacers.

Finally, the CPU team makes a shot but now my guys will not inbound the ball and they keep getting 5 second violations. I tried to call a few time outs but to no avail I had to quit. either way, I missed out on a quarter because of this so even if I fixed it, the game was ruined.

has anyone experienced anything like this or is this a bug with the patch?

I have a franchise already started. Would the things in the patch go into affect into my season. Or do I need to start over. Let me know thanks.

the game is feeling great, but still have a lot of alley opp attempts, 4 in the first quarter

Feels like CHRISTMAS DAY. I didnt have to pause once to check on my teammates. infact, I had to pause to make sure I wasn't missing any instances. Double and triple takes on that front.

I got one 10 minute qrt, DEFAULT everything PRO game.

Pistons (cpu) vs. Magic(user)
-first off on a presentation front:
HIGHLIGHT custom music works for end of qrt breaks.
HALFTIME kicks in for the entire halftime sequence.
POTG kicks in as the game ends, and that music stops after the POTG highlight/montage. Entering the game track highlights its the 2k10 music.
Player music works. I set Dwight to have superman theme and that plays for made FGs. (not FTs)

Onto the game, first off. THIS IS HOW THE GAME SHOULDVE RELEASED. I'm just a happy little schoolboy right now lol

IN game Screenshots are finally working:



Playing on Default PRO, even with default FOUL sliders and living rosters. A few things come to mind.

-STAMINA -now needs to be adjusted down. guys just dont tire that much
-SHOOTING sliders- CPU shooting slightly above what they should. User shooting just a pinch above that. I will alter sliders on those real soon. CPU around 47/48/49 and user 48/49/49.
-FOUL sliders- I may have to go back to what Pared bad in 75-75-80-80-100. although i did see a charge on default. I may try out everthing-10 on his, wihth 65-65-70-70-90 my next game.

WHat wouldve been one of those ugly sequences where a double comes and a player cuts, BASS , a cpu controlled TEAMMATE, reverbs back to the paint and gets the BLOCK!

I read through this thread and am left astounded at some people. I understand everyone is different and have ideas about what they feel is authentic.

They said you wouldn't have to start over your association when you downloaded the patch. The affects should be made, but i haven't tried it out for myself.

That actually happened to me the other day BEFORE the patch was released, so I can positively confirm the patch did not cause this.
