So I came across some money today but only enough to rent this again (gonna have to wait for Christmas/Boxing day to purchase, lol). Got the patch and I have to say wow 2K, just wow. I think I might just keep this game and say screw Blockbuster. This game is dope now. After 1 game 2K basketball feels better than its ever been.

Just played Philly @ Cleveland (me). First off, no framerate issues at all playing in the Q. Pre-patch when I played there was a lot, especially @ Cleveland but not anymore.

Second, and the biggest to me, is the way the CPU plays now is just awesome. They work for the open shot, no more lead passes into the paint, they shoot the mid range j, they use isomotion so well now and they go to the star players in the clutch.

In the last seconds of our game, Philly was down 2. I bricked both free throws with LeBron and as soon as they grabbed the rebound they called timeout. On the last play they instantly go to Igoudala who takes a pretty good mid range J but is off. Elton Brand grabs the board just outside of the paint but doesn't go back up because help D came over. He kicks it back out to Andre who takes the kill shot for 3 but I was able to close out with LeBron and contest it enough to make him just miss.

Playing on default everything and only 1 alley oop attempt plus, they shot just under 40% for the game. The stats were almost perfect. Free throw attempts could go up and turnovers need to be a lot higher but that's just how this game is (not enough unforced turnovers, missed passes, etc.).

It is insane how much this game has changed with this one patch. This is on some CHoops 2K8 post patch gameplay right here. Amazing, amazing job. Like my boy Drake said "You the best I ever had".

The game was cool IMO without the patch, I just learned to adjust to the game. I play on All-Star with Default Sliders, but now since the patch, my pick and roll doesn't work any more, and the CPU doesn't miss. Am I the only one who's experiencing this issue? Thanks in advance.

PnR didn't have any defense to it pre-patch. The reason it won't "work" is because the AI is picking up on it now.

Yeah it's not like they're gonna punish you for it, they accually give you the option to buy the game for 30 bucks after you keep it for longer than a couple months or something. I did that with Wolfenstien back in the day.

Anyone know when my player mode will be fixed? I get sick of the dude telling me there's other teams offering me a contract after every game and there's a bunch of other little bugs that keep me from touching my player mode until it's fixed.

I actually uninstalled the new patch and I'm good again. My plays actually work again. I play in franchise only so I would assume that most of the patch work would be for online play, IMO. The good news is if I need a roster update, I can just install the patch, get my roster's updated, then uninstall the new patch again.

Wow, I'm super impressed with this game.

I haven't played a pro basketball game since NBA 2K6 when I became disillusioned with basketball. Now that my interest is back, I had to buy this game as I loved playing the 2K games back in the day.

This is just a phenomenal experience- I'm playing 12 minute quarters and having a great time, I've never been able to stomach playing quarters that long before. It's rewarding to see Kobe do a pull up jumper and drain it. It's also great to see my Knicks get shredded on defense. The commentary is outstanding, the presentation really is top-notch (pressbook photos are gorgeous).

I was hooked to College Hoops 2K7 and thought that was the best that videogame basketball has to offer but I was wrong- this is the best basketball game I have played... period. Too bad the Knicks are awful

Just had the most amazing, satisfying... loss.

Played a NBA Today game, Heat (me) versus the Magic. First quarter both teams sort of felt themselves out; could feel like Wade was going to have a big game. Think he finished w/11pts in the first quarter, but I was down 4. During the second quarter they began chucking 3's and going lights out from the outside in the second quarter. When they missed Howard was killing me on the offensive boards. At half I'm down 19. Figured I'd just quit out but wanted to see if I could come back. So I cranked the defensive pressure all the way up. During the third they kept chucking 3's but they were no longer falling. I had gotten Howard in foul trouble so Haslem was able to dominate on the boards (finished w/16rebs). The cool thing is it wasn't like I got overly hot shooting; I just slowly slogged my way back to tie the game late in the 3rd. But Wade led the way w/all types of acrobatic shots.

Once the cpu put Howard back in I didn't adjust fast enough as he started pulling in offensive rebounds and kept the Magic going, then pushed them to a 7pt lead I couldn't overcome (could only get it to 3pts a couple times). I lost 102-95. The Magic shot lights out in the first half (61% first half, I shot 39%). Second half different story; they finished shooting 44% to my 41%. The games just flow so well. I've had lots of great games but just felt compelled to post - just so many things this game does right imo. Hearing the commentators refer back to performances in previous games or mentioning broad details about when the two teams last met is just amazing stuff. As I was coming back in the third quarter, the celebration animations the Heat players were displaying were incredible. Seeing the cpu call successive timeouts trying to slow me down and watching the dejected body language of the Magic (at the time) - again, truly great stuff. Then of course there's the tons of detail to pour through post game wrap up stuff, either with stats, the Pressbook, signature highlights, game reel, G moments. The funny thing is I paused my game several times for extended periods to do a few things... completely forgetting about the in-game save feature.

2K10 is truly an awesome game imo - absolutely love it

Been playing this a little more this week. Pretty good game. Still find the 'flow' of the game to be off tho...but it is better than it was @ release. Got two good hoops games to play now. First time in years and I'm loving it.

Played with multiple teams tonight, how in the heck do you win on this game. Defense A.I. is dead, I've seen my players just walk and move with no urgency, lost multiple offensive rebounds where players just stand there and jump seconds later.

Shooting is terrible, shot stick isn't feeling as accurate as it was in 2k8 and 2k9. Overall something is very broken. Tried to play a friend tonight got disconnected in 1st quarter, second attempt error off of 2k servers. Made some nice pictures though uploaded to 2ksports. Graphics are hit and miss, Lebron (hideous), Kobe (shameful and hideous).

Ford - Indiana (Looks great)
Granger - (Looks great)
Ross - Mavs ( Detail is incredible)

But seem like star players are just terrible. Why is that, when bench players have better player model faces?

Overall I will be playing this mofo a lot during Sunday my day off, NBA Today is nice as hell, commentary and presentation are impressive.

Continuing my draft combine and listening to those damn songs is killing me. lol

Overall I don't hate 2k10, but it definitely needs work. Also owning and playing both NBA games this season will jack your controls all up. For some reason I threw 3 alley oop passes in one game from pushing the wrong button in the actions of a pass. lol

Good Job ( VC) not great since 2k8 still holds the crown for best in series for now.

But game isn't just outright terrible, but it isn't the game it use to be.

Can't wait until Patch 1.2!!!

lol I feel your pain. But this is one of my favorite parts about the game. Most games after playing it for a little while, it gets to the point where I have to make it almost unrealistic in order for me to have a chance at losing, but this year, I think I actually have a losing record despite playing with the Celtics for most of my games (pre-patch). I'm now controlling all 30 teams and focusing on the Bucks and Jazz and as the Jazz, I got steamrolled by some scrub team (don't remember who) and then I beat Phoenix by like 28. Feels so nice to not know how it's going to go before the game starts.

I was an NBA Live guy last year...gave NCAA a chance this year...but I couldn't get past the lack of variety in the games. I liked the wide open game play but overall it didn't feel like a polished effort. So now I just picked up 2k. Haven't played 2k games in a while. For a newb like me what should I do as far as sliders, gameplay, etc? Anyone have some advice for a person new to 2k?

Can we use a USB drive for game title updates/patches on the 360? I don't have Live right now & need the latest TU/patch for NBA 2K10 & a couple other games as well.

I know USB can be used for other media like music,video,pics,& system updates but don't know about game title updates/patches. Anybody know if this can be done from USB on the 360? Thanks!

@ Behindshadows: I def cannot shoot in this game either...the releases are sped up and it never 'feels good'.

This is my biggest issue with the game. The "feel" as you put it is just way off when it comes to shooting the basketball. Every shot comes out of their hands so quick that you'd think there's always 0.5 seconds left on the shot clock. It really takes away the signature feel of the jump shots.

I'm a big mid-range jumper type of guy, and 2K doesn't represent this part of the game very well at all - it's frustrating to me. It's annoying when I run a play for Luol Deng on the wing, and every single time he curls around the pick that's set for him, he ends up behind the friggin' 3-point line.

I mean this game does tons of things right, and I do enjoy it, but jump shooting is just horrible. That's one thing that Live does really well this year, and is the only reason I'm still playing it as well as 2K.

I just finished about 2 videos of 2k10 for youtube and the shooting was horrible, airballs, missed layups on fastbreaks. I mean come on, I'm missing layups and missing 3 pointers and jumpers from 90 rated players. Just not feeling the releases of this game. A lot things I truly love about it, especially in my Association, but on the court, its a pain in the ***.

Played against the bulls in my association. Had them beat by 17 points. In the 4th quarter, my team A.I. went into a -5 on ball awareness, defense and offensive plays. I missed every damn shot, and the cpu ran off of players on defense and let them score until they were beating me by 8. Stuff like that is what pisses me off about this game.

It's you.

There are plenty of guys who can play the game just fine. Amedawg00 posted a video that shows this as well.

Players get cold in real life. It's up to you to manage your team and weather the cold streaks. If anything, they are overdone LESS than in years past. If you can't manage your team and hold a lead, then you can't place blame on the game.

Burn your timeouts, shoot with players who are "cold" (if he has an open look), get to the rim, try drawing fouls. You know... basketball.

Did they ever fix the issue where the "season" mode (not association) has no free agent pool?
