I shot 45% but most of that wa in the paint. I had to resprt to points in the paint because I couldn't hit a jumper to save my life. Hopefully this doesn't continue (me missing wide open shots and them hitting impossible/ greatly contested shots), because I was really enjoying this game.
Lost 104-100 against the Warriors. They put up 22 3 pointers and hit 50% of them. I was better at hitting my shots but went cold in the 4th. I was down 13 bought brought it to w/in one after turning defensive assist strength back down to 0 (which I think was accounting for all of the three... guys sagging off).

Playing my first game with assist strength at 0 and I'm dominating the Blazers 20-37 after one quarter! They are shooting 41% from the field (with assist strength off), while my team is shooting a crazy 85%. T-Mac is 9-10 with 17 points. Only 14 of my 37 points are in the paint (and 6 of those 14 are fastbreak points) as mostly all of my points are off midrange J's.

And sticking overlays during my player game still getting that?
The Arryo skin problem has been corrected by the latest roster update

Maybe it's just me, but I can't hit the broad side of a barn after this patch. I am taking good, uncontested shots. I can't make a jumper, period. Are there any slider suggestions you guys may have? Have they changed releases or something?

try walking the dog and see if it only rolls 10ft like it did pre patch. if so, the patch has a bug...

Thats cool, but now I cant control any players. The game goes into CPU vs CPU mode, and to boot, nobody can make a shot so its CPU running up and down the court missing shots. I call a few timeouts to get it right, but nothing works. I go into settings, and the game still shows my controller on the pacers.

Finally, the CPU team makes a shot but now my guys will not inbound the ball and they keep getting 5 second violations. I tried to call a few time outs but to no avail I had to quit. either way, I missed out on a quarter because of this so even if I fixed it, the game was ruined.

has anyone experienced anything like this or is this a bug with the patch?
I have experienced this exactly as you described it. However, it was not associated with the patch for it happened prior to the patch's release. The game seemed to remain stuck on CPU-CPU (with 5 second calls on inbounds just as you mentioned) until another shooting foul was committed. This seemed to make the game "snap" out of it.

I've never walked the dog before (pre or post patch)... I don't even know how to do it.

after the team you're playing against score hold LT and inbound the ball. let it roll til it stops. pre patch the ball wouldn't go past free throw line, post patch, the ball rolls almost to half court.

i'm tryin to figure out what the hell happened to the patch as well. first game after patch, 2k10 was a dream come true. the next game i played, recurring nightmare! teams are shooting 60-65%, teammates defense are terrible allowing backdoor cuts, cpu fastbreak to all the time! gonna try something else and get back to you Streets...

Gave it a go today and seems as if I allowed my temper to get the better of me. A lot of CPUs situation vs USER allowable instances really irked me. For example: the User initiated double teams seem fine, however the CPU initiated double teams are mostly deflected back to me but I'm out of bounds or some other bizarre situation happens (WATCH the vid tomorrow, it's eye opening). Will will have vids up tomorrow when I have a moment.

I don't like that some are questioning whether the patch, that says too much. We asked, we expected, and we got and as anticipated there was a possibility of a Butterfly Effect (fix one thing, effect another). I'm taking time away from the game, but I'm seriously pondering sending it back to Take-Two Interactive.

I warn anyone who may be in a current association though.....Just like in the movie 2012 my association came to an end...except it was 2015.

If you are not big into stats/simmed stats then it shouldnt be a problem for you. If your like me it's a bit disapointing to start over.

My only fear is that i start up a new association with the offical roster and run into 2015 (and hours of game play later) and have my association turn into the apocolypse.

has this happened to anyone else? if so, was it post patch or pre patch? or both?

Redicolous that they still leave the alley oop slider broken and the computer catching up easily on fast breaks. why does 2k do this. you almost thing its delibrate sometimes coz you cant explain why someone would do something so stupid

After playing 5 exhibition games, I am loving it. I can't say that it's perfect, but at least I can now say it's worth the money spent on the game. Much improvement in the overall game play, frame rate issues. I especially don't see any more of those stupid gliding effect where players seemed to glide through the court when defending. I see a lot of glitch and negative comments, but I am satisfied with the first patch. If 2K comes out with another one to improve even more, I would be ecstatic.

# 533 Guffers @ 11/09/09 03:52 AM
I think the game is much improved post patch but I am seeing a lot of the stuff you guys are talking about in regards to the CPU percentages.

Using Playmaker's sliders I just had the Nuggets shooting 72% at the end of the 3rd quarter with a final percentage of 63%. Their percentage only dropped in the 4th because I just started fouling as heavily and as often as I could.

The final score was 135-93. And for the record I don't suck. I won my previous game by 12 points with the exact same sliders. And I am using the Bulls but they aren't flat out terrible. They have redeeming features.

I love this game but it will be hard to continue playing if the CPU can shoot such insane percentages, even with pressure. I was throwing zones at them, switching up the defensive pressure and help defense slider and trying to contest every shot. It didn't matter.

I'm using his sliders aswell Post Patch and I've have not seen anything crazy yet. Cpu has only shot over 50% once. But again I've only gotten maybe a total of 4 games in.

# 535 Whaaaazuuuuup @ 11/09/09 09:40 AM
well, i've played just over 20 games this past weekend and there's one thing for certain, 2k10 is busted. this game feels nothing like a sim. this patch did not address what was really killing the gameplay for me and that is the defense. i truly feel as though i'm playing 1 on 5 in this game vs the cpu. waaay too often i come down on defense and find my C guarding their opposing PG. i just play 10 straight games Heat vs Nugget and i can't tell you how often O'Neal would pick up Billups if i chose to guard off ball. then what happens is when i switch over, there's a delay and Billups blows by, which makes one of my teammates completely leave his man open for an uncontested shoot which 70% of the time will go in. ex: Nene gets the ball on the perimenter, i'm guarding him. JR Smith cuts back door, Cook comes and doubles Nene, ON THE PERIMENTER, rather than staying with Smith who, of course, gets an uncontested slam.

and for the love of god, will my players ever run a play under 20 sec!!!

it really sucks because i want to like 2k, but i just can't get over how my teammates run around like chickens with their hands cut off. then when the cpu decides its wants to win, it will run a track meet! as soon as they get a rebound, they'll have a guy at half court and i'll have no chance of caughting him. this is cpu cheating at it's finest. maybe i just need to give this game more time, but i honestly can't see it getting any better...

this is what i'm saying. fundamental, if you play very good defense, and cpu should not be shooting high %'s. that being said i don't like touching sliders unless i'm having can't play of understand a game, ex i love nhl10 but don't know diddly about hockey. 2k10 is really getting away from the core of basketball. learn the lessons of EA before you lose control. K.I.S.S. ...

For those saying they're having issues, what difficulty are you on?

If you're looking for the most "sim" experience, you should be playing on Pro. There are guys that don't want to out "game" the CPU. I'm with you guys. But just like SoMiss, you need to put your "pride" aside and play the game on Pro.

If you can hold the CPU on default settings on Pro to 55% shooting over the course of a 10-12 mins. affair, then you need to work on your defense.

Also, delete your sliders, settings and profile and start over.

Guys have to stop being stubborn here and come into the game fresh and take the advice being given to you.

Loving the contact in the lane!!!...Game is definitly playing much smoother.

Has anyone noticed that the net animations on a made fg are better...not so many swishes...maybe its just me though.

I am playing on 10 min quarters on all star....not making to many adjustments...I put the computer shooting all down between 5-7 pts. I also increase blocks and def awarness for both user/cpu. I raise offensive rebounding for the user as well. On a 10 min quarter game you really want 11-12 offensive boards as it is in the real nba.

i'll give this a try. the question i have is, all things being equal, what major differences do you notice between pro, all-star, and superstar in terms of difficulty, shooting percentages etc?

what makes pro the best sim experience compared to other difficulties?
