I can't really connect with the beatles music. I have tried. Then again, it's not like I have extensively scoured their discography either.

If it wasn't the Beattles, someone would have come along, but they really influenced culture with their haircuts, the way they dressed, etc.......

Frank Sinatra once said that Something was the greatest ballad ever written. That's a high complement coming from Sinatra.

Were the Beattles my favorite band from that era? No, but they influenced and had a huge impact on society and other bands.

Check out Prince's guitar solo for 3 minutes honoring George Harrison for While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Harrison's son is grinning ear to ear near the end of the jam.

Brother, make no mistake. Prince could take a LOT of guitarists to school that are in the big time right now.

And a lot of bassists.

And a lot of drummers.

And a lot of singers.
