Personally I think Black Sabbath has a bigger influence on music I listen to than the Beatles.

But you are aware of the difference between saying "a bigger influence on music I listen to" and their influence on the music industry as a whole right?

I would have *loved* to have been a fly on the wall during those editing sessions where Paul was cutting and taping tracks like a madman.

Me too, which is why I read this book and LOVED it. Felt like I was in the studio with the Beatles! Written by Geoff Emerick, Abbey Road engineer, and he went on to work with Paul in the 70's with Wings. VERY insightful, entertaining book...and anyone can read it. It's not dry or technical. Lots of interesting moments amongst the band during the recording process.

I don't like watermelon either but am indifferent towards the Beatles.

That's how I feel, too. Blink-182, Green Day, and New Found Glory have a ton more influence than the Beatles for the bands I listen to.
