You could not be more wrong about that.

Quirks are cool, Top Prospects list is nice (wish it also showed season stats)

No mention of Inter-League Schedules Rotating.

No mention on how Critical Moments work in 30-team Franchise.

Weekly Cash Flow is nice but does it really change that much during a season? Unless you make trades/play well it will be the same each week.

No mention of Improved Free Agency/Scouting/Drafting/Progression, Editing Coaches.

As mentioned by a lot of us, they are really catering to Casual/New players which is understandable don't get me wrong. Just wish they also took some time and considered the experienced and die hard Franchise players.

I'd be very surprised if the mode doesn't get a lot of love next year.

As far as critical moments inside 30 team franchise.

I am 99.99% sure you can toggle critical moments on and off for all 30 teams so you can pick and choose which teams you want that for when you sim games on the schedule.

Pretty cool.

I gotta say, even if I would feel inclined to try the simming aspects that are featured in this I probably wouldn't anyway based on how they look and work.

The fast play stuff is just too straightforward for my liking, creating even more of a disconnect. There are only about 5 options for each pitch or play and those lack many of the nuances that make up situational baseball.

But mostly, the biggest issue I have is the lack of information on the manage screen. And I should include a screenshot here, but in the meantime...

-You have the batter and pitcher interface and then like 60% of that is just wasted space and blank screen. Why not put some more stats or attributes in there?

-The play result indicator is way too simplified. I would like more information than lined-out, struck out, single, walk, etc. How about a line showing where the ball was hit and who made the play in the field, etc? Teams track where every ball is hit now to use for their defensive setups and shifts, or even how to pitch a batter based on situations. All of this is moot in this mode, and pretty much within the game in general.

-This is a perfect place to have personal historic matchup stats on the screen. Say it is late in a game and one of your players is a bad matchup against a pitcher, tell us that!

-It seems way too hard to keep track of personal during the simming. Getting a reliever loose or knowing what a pitch count is seems to be overlooked. What about tracking where a pitcher's pitches are going for each at bat so we can see if our simmed pitcher is erratic or not having his stuff on a certain day?

I could go on. I don't know, I am glad they included this stuff because apparently people were really wanting it to be in the game. But I feel like even these are severely limited and lacking.

Often we here "If they could just combine the text simming of OOTP or Strat-o-matic with the game play of MLBtS we would have a perfect game!" That would probably be true in a lot of people's minds. But I feel that this just misses the mark pretty hard as to what should be in a quick sim mode at this point. Like everyone else seems to be saying, I feel like we are getting further away from what real baseball is all about and more about button mashing and highlight stuff that purists don't care as much for.

I guess I am just a believer that if the game of baseball can't sell itself because of what it is to begin with, then there isn't much that can be done to make someone interested in a game that is supposed to represent it.

And as it always needs to be stated, this company does a tremendous job with this game. There is no taking anything away from them, or what they have accomplished. Just what scares me is the trend of how all sports games are going these days, with more focus on Ultimate Team modes, and because they drive so much income.

SCEA had my money at the new hit physics alone for this year, but I can echo the sentiments of a few others in here already; if the priority isn't shifted back to making the actual game play better and the franchise mode work better and behave more like real life with all of the options that almost should be in, then they may lose me soon, as well.

If you're controlling multiple teams and you sim you will get notified of critical situations for the current team you are on in the front end.

Yeah I'm sure you can turn them off, but I want them all!

I'm gonna play it like an MLB Tonight program. Throughout each day in my Franchise I'll sim each game (in time order) and if a Critical Situation arises, I'll play it with MLB Network Broadcast. Then play my full 9 inning game with the Mets.

So much excitement. So many opportunities for big moments. I can't wait.

Maybe it's just because of year to year saves, but I'm 95% sure I've played vs every team in rtts and I've been on the same teams for the whole time.

Whoops forgot to quote the person that mentioned this.

Hey ramone I've asked this question several times during the live streams including today but got no answer. Are there more ALLTIME MLB records this year. There's only like 12 or so right now

So if I'm on the Mets front end, then go to View Today's games and simulate the Dodgers vs. Giants game, I can't get a Critical Situation?

That is workable. Though it seems you could miss out on some throughout the season. If you go to Dodgers front end, you'd miss out on a Giants Critical Moment.

I thought the stream started pretty fitting by them asking "for those you don't knon what franchise is" which is what basically every feature is geared towards. Outside of player quirks and top 100 prospects, SDS should feel ashamed for this years features they focused on. Also lol at all the white knights who told everybody to wait for other features that clearly weren't coming. Gameplay, presentation, and visuals still improved and will be a day 1 purchase, but the franchise gimmicks this year mimick something ea sports would do imo

I do wish the Quick Manage screen showed pitch count. Maybe they can add it in for next year. Really love the new additions overall this year though.

The pitching motions added this year look better, like the Edwin Diaz one. But the ones from the last couple years still look terrible, like the Drew Smyly one.

No sir if you are on the Mets in the FE then you only see the Mets games on the schedule. You will only get CS for the team you currently have selected in the FE.

Franchise was nothing more than "hey guys you ignored these options, on the options screen, so we made these menu panels so you can actually see these options". A GUI upgrade, sprinkled with a "quirk" system.

Has access to Inside Edge and in year 2, it is still only a diamond dynasty feature. Inside Edge is first and foremost a franchise feature if there ever was one.

Humm ok...so I guess you can't play CS from other teams in the league when simming a day or 2 unless you select another team when simming that day.

Let say I'm the Mets who's having a Monday off but would like to play the CS on that Monday. Only way is to pick a team, sim that day and prey to have a CS for that team that day !!???

Ramone is there a reason you can only switch to 3 teams rather than every team in the offseason? I would love to switch from a high payroll to a low payroll without restarting a franchise.

Yes that is correct. Whomever teams schedule you are looking at is the one you will get critical moments for when you sim on the schedule screen.
