These are the three tenets that the franchise team has been working under for the last couple of years, and it has produced some truly unique content. We have another feature set this year that will both challenge the norm and continue to drive this portion of the sports gaming industry.

The people I am fortunate enough to work with on the MyGM/MyLEAGUE team are of a different ilk. Intense…is the word I would use to describe them. To Dave Z, Tim, Brad, Barry, Leftos, Yu, and Kefei, I salute you. For everyone else out there, let’s go learn what these fine folks have created for you this year!

I’m going to write this blog a little differently than I have in the past. We covered a lot of ground this year. I want to make sure you can understand the breadth of our scope this year, so I am going to write this in more of a list format so you can quickly consume what we have been up to. As far as contract negotiations go, is role included in the offer? I really love the idea of MyGM, but it's very difficult when I sign players to come off the bench and they become locker room problems because they suddenly develop a desire to start

  1. For MLO does the rest of the league get notifications of changes made by the admin?
  2. Can any owner edit appearances of the player (kicks, accessories but the admin is the only one that can edit ratings?

One aspect missing from Erick's blog is how your keepers/protected players affect your draft presence. There's two different settings on how that works:
Bottom of Draft: All your protected players occupy the bottom picks of the draft.
Overall Ranking Buckets: Your protected players occupy picks in the draft based on their overall ranking. Any top 30 player is a guaranteed 1st round pick lost. A second top 30 player protected would make you lose your 2nd round pick. A player ranked between 91-120 would be a 4th round pick lost, and so on. So there's a game there in researching who's available in the draft and deciding which rounds you're willing to give up on to protect the players that are most important to you.

Our initial default was "Bottom of Draft", but we changed it to "Overall Ranking Buckets" after our very first playtest, since it made things way more intriguing and forced you to strategize.

We sincerely hope you enjoy MyLEAGUE Online as much as we did playtesting it. And if you know the team Erick B./SimBaller assembled late in the 2K14 cycle and have been paying attention to how much MyLEAGUE and MyGM have grown since 2K15 onwards, you know we're nowhere near done.
I'm not sure how to start and I'll try to reply as politely as possible, because this is taking a very frustating route on behalf of all the real Sim Ballers out here.

You said there is no Time where the Team had 4 years now to give us a working Free Agency. After 2k13 you shut the mode down - which was the right move imo because Online Association in 2k12 was far away from a solid working mode. Yall brought it back as Leagues where you could do a single season and after that kept it that way for 2 more years.

Last year you told us you wanted to stabilize the mode, but hadn't had time to implement offseason, which was okay, because yall said it would be back this year and we all listend. But NOPE, instead of removing the mode for a couple of years and giving us a FULL ONLINE FRANCHISE MODE, the Team is working around the Free Agency and is giving us a Fantasy Mode. How could yall think "Keepers" would be a solid option to avoid Free Agency? This makes the mode totally irrelevant for all the real League players.

Im 100% sure, im not going to enjoy it, because it's not what it should be. If I want to play Fantasy Basketball, I do that in Fantasy Draft.

Please if you can't promise us when it's going to be what it should be, cut it out and give us a full functional ONLINE ASSOCIATION in 2 or even 3 years from now.

Don't want to sound rude or anything like that but im very disappointed..

Last question I can think of

1. Is future picks owed to certain teams included in MLO? Ex. Sixers get Lakers pick if it is not in the top 3

The roster/draft class editing stuff sounds great too, especially as someone who spends too much time editing his classes.

@Leftos, could you explain a little more on the roster edit mode? Does it basically make the roster page/ratings into a spreadsheet that you navigate cell by cell? And does it allow any global edits?

Yeah, man, I was not happy with the in-game injuries last year. I had spent so much time working on adding features to the injury system, but when such a core part of the system goes wrong, it kind of takes away the whole thing. The AI team really made a point of taking a much closer look at the injury implementation and presentation this year, so all the features we added to the backend should now be properly supported in-game as well.

There's a lot more injury related animations, and a huge number of regular animations were tokenized to add wear and tear probabilities for specific body parts, that then increase the probability of that body part being injured.

We're really happy the Wear & Tear system made it in this year, both the short-term implementation in-game as well as the long-term implementation in the franchise backend. It's yet another addition to all the injury related features we've been adding with help from the Features and AI team since 2K15.

The advanced rotation player system was all I needed to hear... Having the ability to pre plan, rotations for players and keep out the massive subs (hopefully). Is just wow... Great blog 2k!

You can edit any player, or load/download a whole new draft class, as well as save out the draft class you've been working on while in MyGM/MyLEAGUE into a file that you can reuse later.

For Roster Quick Edit, the detailed roster spreadsheet becomes editable cell by cell. I'll be happy to hear how you think we can improve it.

To the team:

What are all the factors that affect the Rivalry score? Do crappy teams have less a chance of creating a rival?

Can you manually retire jerseys? Will there be a jersey retirement ceremony?

Any new additions within the Edit Staff option?

Since the Start Today is a mode of its own does that mean we cant Start today in Mygm mode and its really only a myleague experience?

I don't think you realize this, but that team is full of Franchise gamers too. They're not holding out on you.. if he says they didn't have time then they didn't. It's a process..

For people asking if something (team rivalries, advanced rotations, etc.) is also in MyGM, you can assume the answer is yes unless otherwise stated.

Start Today and Playoffs are separate modes though based on the MyLEAGUE experience, so you can't mix and match them with the MyGM experience. The answer is the MyGM engine needs to be fed data from the very start of the season, and we can't just drop you in on February 3rd and have it work. If there's a huge want for it, we can evaluate that in the future, but we wanted to bring it back bigger and better than ever, and we took extra care of making sure as many systems as possible work exactly as if you had played MyLEAGUE up to that point, as well as allowing you to start in the start of the next offseason when we hit the summer of 2017.

Some other quickfire answers:
- Only 2 jerseys per custom team.
- There's an expansion flow where teams get to protect players before the expansion draft. You can start with an expansion team both when using "start in regular season" and "start from previous offseason". You can start with 1-6 expansion teams to boot. The league and all the franchise features have been adjusted to work with any number of teams between 30 and 36.
