These are the three tenets that the franchise team has been working under for the last couple of years, and it has produced some truly unique content. We have another feature set this year that will both challenge the norm and continue to drive this portion of the sports gaming industry.

The people I am fortunate enough to work with on the MyGM/MyLEAGUE team are of a different ilk. Intense…is the word I would use to describe them. To Dave Z, Tim, Brad, Barry, Leftos, Yu, and Kefei, I salute you. For everyone else out there, let’s go learn what these fine folks have created for you this year!

I’m going to write this blog a little differently than I have in the past. We covered a lot of ground this year. I want to make sure you can understand the breadth of our scope this year, so I am going to write this in more of a list format so you can quickly consume what we have been up to. Is there something wrong with the way contraction works in the game? It wasn't in the blog, no questions have been answered on it. Is it still in the game?

I guess us digital pre orderers will find out tonight but it does seem pretty odd that expansion is talked about yet the reverse isn't when both were originally announced.

Yes, contraction of previously expanded teams is in the game.

Leftos, I have two questions regarding advanced rotations.

1) Do they work with SimCast and SimCast Live?

2) If you're in a blowout are your rotations to play starters at the end of the game overridden?

Awwwww man, so disappointed. Wanted a 24 team league. Now I know I'll never use the feature.

Probably tough for the NBA to agree to getting rid of existing teams. Though, you can do it in Out of the Park Baseball and that's fully licensed so who knows if that's actually the reason.

Yea which is why I was so excited to see it announced, now I see that it wasn't what I had hoped it was. All good tho.

Don't know if this has been address in this thread...but, with the only way of rebranding more than 3 teams is to use the online servers.What happens to your ML if you decided to keep playing nba2k17 for several years? Long after 2k18,2k19 and etc... has been release.What if I still enjoy 2k17 years later instead of purchasing another nba 2k game. What happens to my offline customize rebranded ML?

You need a license to cut teams out of the game? If I wanted to replicate the mid 80s in MyGM/MyLeague, I couldn't get down to 23 teams and expand from there? Wow.

They really should have explained all of this the first time. They "announced" the feature weeks ago, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was interested in it, and they never explained what they meant. I'm a bit disappointed and wouldn't have been had they said what it meant from the get go. But it's all good, now I may actually use the expansion feature when previously I had not intended to do so because I wanted a smaller league. Now I'll just make a bigger one.

Hi guys,
In myGm "league expansion" mode in nba 2k17, i can't create more than two franchises. I can save the first one but when i start the second one i can't save the arena changes for example. Is it normal ? What can i do ?

One concern I have with My League is the 90 day no trade period after signing a free agent. Is there a way to turn off this rule or force a trade through? In past 2K's I've seen questionable signings and would like to be able to make a trade before the season starts. Ex. LeBron signs with the Kings. I would probably like to have a re-do on that and trade him to another team instead of having to wait 3 months.

Edit: I know there is 30 team control but I would prefer to let the cpu have control and just make the occasional move to correct an unrealistic move.

It'd be the same thing though. You'd just set everything to CPU control and it'd be the same thing.

Assuming it works the way last year's system did, you would have to temporarily set trading rules to "off in MyLeague settings, make the trade manually, and then reset the setting to "on" when you're done, using 30n team control.

I typically just edited their contract, cut them, and then re-signed them and edited again to an appropriate amount.

In the first season in Mygm or Myleague when you load in a draft class they will have the same overall as you created them come draft time, but however In the second season and beyond in Mygm or Myleague when you load in a draft class it keeps changing the players ratings in tour draft class. For example if I would make a player an 80 ovr in my draft class then come draft time in the second offseason and beyond he will be an 84 or 78 it varies and it does it to multiple players in the draft class is there a fix for this? It's really bothering me and only happens after you complete your first season. Even when it asks me do you want to add a storyline to these players it may effect their ratings I select no and it still changes there ovr by 3 to 4 to -3 or -1 come draft time like I'm aggravated.

Whoa really? I know that was a thing in 2k16 but I assumed the new 'storylines' option this year would take care of that. Disappointing if true...
