NBA 2K17 MyLEAGUE, MyLEAGUE Online & MyGM Blog With Erick Boenisch

These are the three tenets that the franchise team has been working under for the last couple of years, and it has produced some truly unique content. We have another feature set this year that will both challenge the norm and continue to drive this portion of the sports gaming industry.

The people I am fortunate enough to work with on the MyGM/MyLEAGUE team are of a different ilk. Intense�is the word I would use to describe them. To Dave Z, Tim, Brad, Barry, Leftos, Yu, and Kefei, I salute you. For everyone else out there, let�s go learn what these fine folks have created for you this year!

I�m going to write this blog a little differently than I have in the past. We covered a lot of ground this year. I want to make sure you can understand the breadth of our scope this year, so I am going to write this in more of a list format so you can quickly consume what we have been up to. It's the transparency you lack Erick when it comes to this mode that makes me sadly view you as a used car salesman!! You have no problem in any other article digging in or sending someone to this forum to talk to us like adults! It's times Mike wang or you provide passionate intricate details and the reasoning as to why and or why not something couldn't make said years iteration of the game and then you'd leave that article confidently with a claim stating that we heard you and don't be surprised if we fix this by next development cycle!! Yet in this mode you guys took an elitist factionalized horrible idea and made it standard with no regard as to even saying in the last sentence "this is something we think you may like". You guys continue to be shady irresponsible and immature in regards to this game mode and its Crap! You commission us to seek information outside of you via the drones you lead us to believe speak for us, you tell us you invited them to preview the game almost a month out and sell us the bill of goods that they report unbiased news... Yet they all of them seemed to be on message across Twitter YouTube and even in operationsports when it came to getting questions answered about my league online! A simple yes or no question was asked via Twitter from Mike_lowe@operationsports he asked to Ld2k "is my league offline going to mirror my league online?" instead of saying yes or no the 2k public relations robots start retweeting bullet points from the Forbes magazine article and feeding us the hope that you were going to clear some things up On Friday Erick! You didn't though Erick we saw right through this bare bones mode with the 89 things you should know about 2k17 article!!! You guys used 5 blurbs on this mode saying stuff like " many offseason decisions" taking to us like we have no Concept of speaking the English language leading us all to believe what you just confirmed, that if it's no breakdown at length to we can safely assume that the mode will be as bland and as squeezing it in between all the great accomplishments you'd like us to see! You guys went to every arena to get the sound of basketball nets added more commentators signed Creed to add to myplayer added more shoes etc. yet you couldn't put NBA free agency in an offline mode?? This can't be logical thinking to me it's so maddening that once again I have to not buy your game simply over doing 99% of the work and saying forget something that is as important to a league as free agency! You started this article telling us how hard your people worked on this title which is great because what you guys continue to do offline but maybe you need separate guys to care for online because it doesn't seem to be one person in that office that cares or relates to fans like me want!! Not everybody wants to play myplayer or team up or fantasy card packs or even offline my league in 2016! It's criminal that madden a game that is under constant scrutiny has been on message with its fans in regards to their online leagues from day one on Xbox on while being under attack year after year! Madden has been around since 1988 and almost 30 years it continues to adapt to the times... No knock against offline players but to cater to that segment of your fanbase knowing full well everything you market down to myplayer is online preemptive!! Can you say willfully ignorant? So Erick I ask you if your online league fans say please add s real offseason for Nba 2k 18 with no cheesy gimmicks or fantasy style work arounds, could you just simply say " yes we will or no we can't" and save us the time of day of making mean posts like this because honestly I think every other part of this game is epic yet the value of it remains to be zero dollars when it comes to why I would choose to spend any money on it sadly because you say screw be and people like me and I just don't understand why!!!

I'll reiterate what I said in the other thread. The fact that resources are used for things like allowing league expansion and all the time that had to go into that it is crazy to me. Especially to turn around and use the excuse that there was not enough time and resources to add something so vital in regards to salaries and free agency. Just ridiculous and shows that myleague online is at the very bottom of the totem pole in regards to priorities.

Yes to all.

Human players that aren't even online won't take a minute and a half. Human players that are online in NBA 2K17 but aren't in the draft at the time of the draft might bog down things, so call 'em up and give them the what's what.

Pretty sure I grew up in the 70's or something.

I absolutely love the changes. I just hope, when it comes to team relocation and the numbers you can do, it's all 30-36, consistent across all consoles, and online/offline. I had to shell another $60 for PC version just to create a full custom league, and while it might be the superior graphical version, I'd rather just do everything on my Xbox for all myLEAGUE's.

Since it was asked, Player/Position Lock through the Position Settings menu works the same as last year.

Leftos,

- When it comes to new CBA's will we have options like adding the amnesty clause, stretch provisions or adding rules like the Stepien Rule?

- Regarding retired jersey's can you manually retire them? Conversely, can you un-retire a jersey?

- Lastly, I was wondering if SimCast has been tweaked in anyway? My main issue in the last two version's of SimCast was there were too many early Timeouts called, so if I were to intervene at the start of the 4th quarter I would only have one or two timeouts.

Everything reallly sounds amazing. I'm really going to struggle with coming up with more than a few things to add to my 2k18 wishlist this year. *cough d-league or expanded roster *cough

Are classic team camera filters in the game a la 2K12? If yes will they carryover to MyLeague if you put a classic team in your MyLeague?

Love what j been reading, only things missing for me is DLeagues and the option to unretire jerseys.

Also question for leftos, do i assume correctly that we can now just control 1 team in myleague and switch to a different team without having to control them all ? If so then awesome and just what i was hoping for.

I realized in the Prelude when you win the championship your team calmly walks off the court, im assuming this doesnt happen in MyGm/MyLeague

Also- With your expansion team, is there dynamic attendance etc, or is it normally 100% everygame for all teams

- No manual jersey retirements or unretirements, but we can keep that in mind for the future.
- No idea if the classic team filters have returned, but I don't believe so.
- No amnesties or stretch provisions.
- I can talk to the engineer responsible regarding the simulator using up timeouts too early.

Yes, the number of teams and which teams you control in MyLEAGUE is customizable at any time.

Was wondering ssme thing, would be cool if we could retire jerseys, for example a player signs back with my team for one final year and i wamt to retire his jersey for all the years he given to the team in earlier years but he been on a different team for a couple years, i still like to be able to retire his jersey. Also unretirjng jerseys i been asking and hoping for for years and years.

Is there any way I can ask Leftos about this? How many teams will be relocatable, or at the very least customizable, across all versions of the mode and platforms? He's probably swamped with questions, I know, I just think it might be a pressing topic.
