Am I missing something?!?!?

Nevermind I see the position restrictions. Still the WR at HB is so rare it's not that big of a deal. I am one of Madden's biggest critics but you guys are tripping on this issue

yeah cause there's not a huge advantage for it. a HB guarded by a CB is cool. a WR guarded by a LB not so much. advantage WR. same at TE. Madden does a good job of telling you personnel on the field but a lot of that strategy went out with the lack of being able to counter in Gen2/3

And clearly an attempt to cheese imo. What teams actually do this? Cobb does it on occasion, who else?

Another fair point. Without the ability to assign defensive match-ups, I could see this sort of flexibility being a point of frustration and creating exploits.

I still would rather have unlimited flexibility myself, but again, I understand the mindset.

No WR at HB but thankfully I can put HB at WR and now with full player editing that should not be a problem at all. So happy this has finally returned to Madden.

Off the top of my head, WRs I've seen line up in the offensive backfield as a running back - Randall Cobb, Tavon Austin, Dexter McCluster, DeAnthony Thomas, Percy Harvin, Cordarrelle Patterson, Lucky Whitehead, Julio Jones, AJ Green.

It's not common, granted, but it's also not rare.

yeah i'd much rather have the option available and let the rules committee of these online CFMs handle the rest. especially since this seems to be a CFM only feature.

I sure hope I can make my Punter the Holder on XP's and FG's !!!

So no DE to TE or FB? Meaning no Watt on O, bummer.

Just to add to this, hopefully this is something that is on the radar as well. It would be especially helpful in online CFM's but letting users be aware of exactly what personnel will be lining up should be essential with formation subs back.

yeah i like that, they just showed the totals per position last year. this is much better.

Isn't there a package for this in certain formations or it used to be in there I think?

Cheese isn't a big deal. This is limited to CFM so I don't see how that would be a big deal.

And people dismissing this is silly. This restrictions are really dumb.

Disappointed in the following

WR not be able to line up at HB
QB's not be able to line up at WR or HB
SS or FS not be able to line up as a OLB

I would imagine that they are still not completely confident with the gameplay/A.I. of the game yet to lift all position restrictions from the depth chart and formation sub menu. Full positional freedom should be something that they aspire to ultimately.

# 37 oneamongthefence @ 08/09/16 06:51 PM
I could see why it would be restricted in online play now but a CFM league can manage cheesers and people who exploit the game. No reason to have restrictions there.

We should just be thankful we're going to have this available day one guys! No wait at all. That's awesome to me, and shows that the devs are listening to us.

It say you can put WR at HB it list HB next to WR
