Madden NFL 15 News Post


Madden NFL 15 title update #2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users. The PlayStation 4 patch is 281 MB, while the Xbox One patch is 3.1 GB. Looking at the update history on the PlayStation 4 patch, it only shows minor stability and bug fixes.

When EA Sports and the Madden NFL 15 team send out the details, this post will be updated.

UPDATE: Here are the patch details.

XBOX ONE AND PS4 CHANGES:

- Fixed or enhanced multiple team uniforms
- Added tuning adjustments to offline Connected Franchise Mode, matching Online CFM hot fixes
- Added a “Slim” Play Call option
- Added the ability to button through the entire halftime presentation
- Added button prompt to defensive play call to inform the user they can back out to pick their play before the offense does
- Tuned down QB accuracy for lower tiered QB's, especially on passes under 10 yards
- Addressed issue where the formation name would not update during no huddle situations
- Improved line shifting functionality out of defensive camera
- Defensive Play Call timer has been extended to 15 seconds
- Addressed issue where users only had 10 seconds to call a play vs. the AI
- Improved defensive adaptive AI
- Added QB signature passing styles
- Addressed issue where reading keys against the read option wasn't working on All-Madden difficulty
- Added logic for receivers that prevents the wrong animation from triggering during catchable passes
- Added logic to prevent multiple ways of grieving during online games
- Improved logic in CFM when determining who the starting RT should be
- Addressed an issue where the user would fail when punting the ball out of bounds on the Medium Coffin Corner drill
- Addressed an exploit where users could put WR's at the TE position on the depth chart inside of MUT
- General improvements to Madden Messenger
- General improvements to commentary logic
- Multiple CoachGlass improvements
- Fixed an issue where the user’s play would sometimes be auto-selected on defense

I'm not really experiencing the issues people are being hysterical about. Played two very balanced and different games on all pro. Games were completely different from each other in their own way and completely fun. Gameplay feels as good as it was pre-patch. I can win on all pro but I have to earn it. Throwing styles fix makes qbs look so much better in action. Played against Falcons and their retro red jerseys, and they are still pink. Will someone elaborate on slim menu? Didn't see it. Gameplay setting?

In the menu. Added to Quick/Enhanced. Really cuts the play calling menu down. I like it because all that other info was useless to me anyway.

I played 2 games last night with the patch. One on my normal All-Pro Browns franchise and one in a new All-Madden franchise with my Dolphins. I didn’t see a big difference gameplay wise. I think everyone should use their existing sliders and tweak from there rather than go back to default since not a lot changed imo. I do like the Slim play call menu. I haven’t noticed the QB throwing styles but wasn’t really paying attention either.

First on All-Pro there are still a lot of sacks taken by the cpu. I’m not as bothered by that as some of you. I’m more bothered by the running game not being fixed. The inside running game is still overpowered since guards knock the DTs backwards every time. It makes short yardage automatic and basic Iso runs up the middle are practically money plays. It’s my #1 complaint with this Madden even though most people don’t seem to care. When I first got the PS4 two weeks ago it was a big adjustment for me. I thought running was hard until I simply realized it was pointless to run outside and just hammer it up the middle behind the guards. Guard play in the run game has been over-powered for at least two years and it’s very unbalanced between inside/outside running on the PS4 imo.

Both the sack issue and easy inside user running on All-Pro suffer from horrible sliders! The blocking sliders and most sliders in M15 do next to nothing. They are incredibly watered down to the point of almost being useless. Run block at 0 or 100 doesn’t make a big difference and therefore it’s very hard to fix. It’s clear this EA dev team doesn’t care about sliders and that needs to change.

That said I also played a game on All-Madden and I saw Tom Brady go 23-31 against me. He took 2-3 sacks and I also saw him throw the ball away and not just eat the ball on coverage sacks. I like the running game better on All-Madden since it was tougher. Tannehill got hurt and Matt Moore came in and misfired quite a bit for me on the short throws so I did see that. I hope that the new inaccuracies are tied to the short accuracy ratings and not just the overall QB rating but I liked it what I saw. So I’m done with All-Pro and going to make the move to All-Madden and pray my terrible passing game can survive with slider adjustments.

This game is flawed but I still like it. I enjoyed M13 despite terrible flaws. It’s just up to each individual’s acceptance threshold imo.

Are you playing 2 min quarters?

People who say that they don`t have issues with sacks, play a CFM and check team stats on week10. You should be around...1st.

Well here's one example. The Bills have these little charging Buffalo patches on the sides of their pants that are supposed to be up near the waistline. They were down too low, about halfway between the waist and knee. That got fixed.

Unfortunately it also looks like those pants won't degrade; I played a game last night on grass where the shirts got dirty and the pants did not.

To the guys who aren't happy with big sack numbers, is your issue against AI or human opponents?

To me it seems a little more difficult to break loose from an offensive lineman in VS. games, since both last month's Turner as well as yesterday's patch update.

I'm happy with it now and if they tone it down, pass rush will be pretty much nonexistent.

AROUND first???? More like the greatest sacking team of all time. And two of the greatest single season sack machines on your team

Fixed the 49ers pants color, changed the Patriots jersey side stripes from silver to red, and fixed the Panthers sleeve stripes. That's it. 3 teams. Playing as the Colts, I was really upset that they forgot to add the numbers to the back of the helmets. You know, the numbers that are so big in real life that you can probably see them from SPACE? Yeah. Disappointing.

Sorry about the double post. For some reason Google chrome wasn't showing my comments so I thought it didn't take. But yeah, it's definitely worse in a lot of ways. On the plus side it seems like they want to fix the game. I was glad to see the signature QB throws. Too bad they can't seem to get signature running styles in the game too. This game has a lot of issues that really needd to be addressed without making things worse.

It's not the pass rush that is causing the high sack totals, it's the AI QB holding on to the ball too long.

I agree in madden 25 we had complaints of not enough sacks.... Now in madden 15 it's too many so what gives.I think this patch has given good balance on offense and defense.

I look forward to getting sacks each game and in some games I manage to get just 1 so it varies...

I think team ratings plays a huge part in determining the sacks this year..
Ex... I sacked Payton manning just once using my 49ers vs sacking drew Stanton 3 times it just varies and I love it...

Good job EA !!!

OK so it's in CFM then.

On the flip side, high sack numbers can cause headaches down the line, as the pass rushers will demand more money and you will have decisions to make.

The only thing to do is make the QB more accurate or make them check down kings and that will frustrate the user to play only human opponents or quit altogether.

If the QB holds the ball too long, the user can just play man as zone is strong this year or EA may have to tone down defense.

I see they said they fixed team's uniforms. Very disappointed that my Steelers, the Raiders and any other team that has black Jerseys and socks are still charcoal grey and not actually black. Where is that fix??

The signature QB throws are stil glitched though. I know for sure that Peyton Manning still don't work. Maybe some of them are working but not all.

Its likely just different compression algorithms and/or different filesystem types per each systems OS.

I think that issue probably has to do with massive lighting changes they made to game, however, they have this ratings 'czar', why don't they go ahead and take uniforms seriously and get a uniform guy? I won't bring up all my issues with unis, everyone's can be read in the uniform error list, but why can't they just have one of them just make this their mission? I played the Falcons last night with their retro 'red' unis to see if it was fixed post-patch. It's a shame this Falcon's jersey is pink because the helmet, like the retro Saints, Eagles, Cards, and a few other teams, is killer, especially with the larger logo from the 70's. Not sure if this also has something to do with lighting changes for 15.

I played one game post patch last night, online franchise as the broncos vs cardinals. I sacked Drew Stanton 6 times and if I was not sacking him, he was lighting me up. I think he completed around 80% of his passes. I have never been great at Madden defense but this year I can't do anything. I get lit up in the passing game no matter what and the running game is breaking big plays against me. I am using All Pro with Rushinoffense/defense sliders with some tweaks (user run block increased, cpu run block decreased, cpu pass block at 99)

Are you using his original set or the newer one he created to fix sacks. The new one is tough but as he said, they are suppose to be.
