Madden NFL 15 News Post

Looking at the list of upcoming demos for the week (via PlayStation.Blog), it doesn't appear as though we will see a Madden NFL 15 demo this week and odds are we won't see one next week either.

Things could change, but it doesn't look like we get a Madden demo this year. It could have something to do with EA Access, but that is an Xbox One exclusive. Who really knows, but it certainly doesn't look promising.

We have sent a note to EA Sports and if we get an official response we will update this post.

UPDATE: Just received an official response from EA Sports. Confirmed: No Madden NFL 15 demo.

UPDATE #2: (Polygon received a more detailed response)

Quote:
Update: While EA initially declined to comment on the reasons for the lack of a Madden 15 demo, an EA representative reached out to Polygon after the publication of this story with the following statement to provide some additional context: "The difficult decision not to do a demo for Madden was strictly a result of the team's commitment to deliver the highest-quality game possible. We chose to put 100 percent of our development resources toward the full game."

Disappointing yes, only because this part of the yr that is unbearing, barely any video games to play and the anticipation of M15 kills me....

but wont make or break anything for me....

I wonder if you guys realize that if you have an Xbox 1, if you pay 5$ for the month you basically rent the game for almost 2 weeks which is a great deal IMO, also if you pay 30$ for the yr you basically paid 30$ for madden so its like a win win situation in my book, if your scared to pay the 65 and change on M15 brand new...

for the ps4 heads i feel you pain....

Make a thread with a poll. Do it. Do it! Do it!!! lol

No, I don't.

Creating a demo is effort separate from and extraneous to the final product. I know this from first-hand experience. Not producing a demo for a game like Madden which promotes itself strikes me as mostly a cost-cutting measure which in no way affects the quality of the final product.

No demo no big deal I have a ps4 and I just have to rely on twitch videos from xbox users with ea access. One thing though I feel bad for people with last gen systems what do they have to go off if there on the fence about the game? No demo not even a mention about it. I work a ton so these weeks fly by the 26th will be here soon.

I'll be hesitant to buy it without "test driving" the game via demo, as some have mentioned. However it's not a big setback for me as I'll just watch someone play through the "Live From Playstation" streaming feature on PS4. That way I can judge for myself if the new additions are worth my $60. This is exactly the kind of thing that feature was intended for.

Doubtful, resourcing (or rather not allocating resources) for the demo was probably determined some time ago. The EA and NFL partnerships are separate arrangements and wouldn't likely be a factor (we're just talking about a demo here).

More of a happy accident for MS as it just ends up being another consequence of Sony opting out of EA Access.

Is it possible for you to create a creative thread, to see who's inclined to purchase an Xbox One with all the current news buzzing around.

I want to see some numbers.

I haven't bought Madden in years. I was actually a little interested in this since it finally looks next gen. Not bringing a demo ensure that not only will I not buy it, but I won't drop the EA access money to try it. I can't imagine that this will help attract other people who had a passing interest.

Will there be any confirmation if EA access is unlimited for 5 days before. Especially now with no demo being available.

I'm already in an Online CFM so I was going to buy it either way. I wanted a Demo for selfish reasons. I want to play sooner. I wanted to see if sliders worked. The problem is that it wouldn't have been the same as the retail game.

Pretty much how I feel. I want a demo, because I like to get a taste of the game early. I always buy Madden, it never sways me either way.

Hey man, if we have disappearing players like last year's demo go unnoticed... nah, I'm sure that won't happen. Oh well! August 26th for me.

As other people have said, there's many other games that didn't have a demo that's sold well, even sports games.

I will agree that with a game that comes out every year, a demo might be best for people on the fence, but I'm not sure how many people won't actually buy it because of that. We'll get some reviews from those with early access and maybe even some gameplay, so nobody is going to be completely blind before buying the game.

A Demo is usually Alpha build or somewhere in the middle. Even though EA stamps on "Work in Progress" It doesn't stop people from going on social media and just destroying it.

The game comes out in 10 days on Xbox One via EA Access, that is your try before you buy tool from now on.
I can wait ten more days forbthe full game.

no demo because of ea access? i dont believe they would only put a demo on one console because that would alienate their users on the other console. that would cause an uproar. i think there will be a demo next week.
