Of all the complaints you can have about this trailer.. and yes i know there are alot of things wrong in this trailer.. foot sliding and ball warping are two things that are not present.
The on ball defenders -- I haven't seen that much jerky foot sliding in a basketball game in years. As much as Live tried to hide it by having defenders be cut off half on screen
Looks like a cartoon. Doesn't look real like 2k. Doesn't have the same emotion as 2k. Looks more arcade. I shocked that a big company like EA couldn't just copy the winning formula. They are making a second rate basketball game. What was that?
Nick, me and you have been in these Live boards for a while. Keeping rosters for Live 10 going.... You more than me recently. You have to admit this looks pretty crappy for a game that EA has tweaked and redone and canceled for the last 4years. This is a port of Live 10 with some higher resolution graphics.... It could have been more....A LOT MORE!!!
yes, 2k blows live away with the graphics, let's just wait to play the game before we make assumptions of that the game isn't good.
oh please...funny you can never find anything you don't like.. get out of that mindset . homerism promotes stagnation!
can't tell nothing from a trailer, haven't played the game yet, just like what I see saw. far from a homer, i bought 2k10,11,13 and 13, not one of the live guys who refuse to play 2k. try again!
Looks very promising if they continue to improve on animation quality and take advantage of this new next gen hardware and improve on the graphical quality to be on par or even surpass 2k graphically.
We all know that EA has the technology to create a really graphically stunning game.
Dribbling looked good.
Facial expressions need abit of work.. I really dislike the expression on Lillards face.
Jumpers look really good as well.
Transition from dribble move to jumper looks a little iffy (melo) but the stutter and shot looked good individually.
Player faces are on point.. only one i saw that looked off was Nash!
I'm not worried about the poor defense in the trailer.. 2 reasons why
-1.They are showcasing bouncetek of course they'll show how the positives of it in a trailer.
--2. The A.I is most likely turned down.
---DISCLAIMER---
IN NO WAY IS THIS GAME READY TO SERIOUSLY COMPETE WITH 2K..
AND IM NOT GOING TO SAY LETS WAIT 2/3 YEARS TO SEE AN IMPROVEMENT
but if the team keeps this up and the suits at EA support this as a solid base.. we'll have a really good game..
..I still dont know which game ill be purchasing.. I reserve judgement until i read a hands on preview from one of OS's trusted and see some actual 5 on 5 gameplay.
I don't understand how people are more interested in watching a game then playing it. Live has never looked nor will it look more fluid animation wise. Playing it though is a whole different story. I hope people give it a play with the final product before making judgement.
I always get pumped each year 2k shows screenshots and gameplay cause it looks great. But then playing it i feel it looks more cartoonish and the movement and dribbling is just not what I expected, including the shooting, passing, atmosphere.

NBA Live 10 players looked a bit funky and unrealistic, but I still loved the game.

We can tell that Live will be herky jerky from the trailer. And yes, that will affect our experience of gameplay.
Watch the vids, but pay attention ONLY to the defenders. Live has always looked good when dribbling standing still, it's when they are on the move that everything just looks sporadic and uncoordinated. All in all, the only thing I "liked" about the trailer was the Knicks blue. And this doesn't even look next gen...smh.
So first off, are we just assuming that this game was in development for three years because Live was gone for that time, or has EA actually stated NBA Live 14 has been in development for 3 years? Cuz if it's the latter... well, it's not apparent from a visual standpoint in the trailer.
If we compare the footage of this trailer to the last NBA Live game out, then yeah, it's definitely an upgrade and if it plays as good as NBA Live 10, then that should've been good enough. Then you see the OMG trailer and... you're a little letdown with what has been shown from Live. Want to see more, but nothing has made me go "oh wow" from any of the NBA Live 14 graphics stuff so far.
This is pretty much the equivalent of the 2000 NBA Dunk contest when Jerry Stackhouse immediately followed Vince Carter's epic 360 windmill with a two hand 360 dunk.
