The way I see it is there are so many other improvements this year that I'm not gonna let that "issue" bother me. I don't call 4 verts every play and if I do and happen to complete it then well ok. I could see if this happened every single play 100% of the time on Heisman with all sliders maxed, but it doesn't.

Do I wish the CPU covered certain routes better (slants) yes. But I found that when you play on Heisman with the CPU coverage at 75 and your QBA at 10 its much more realistic. As much as I hate throwing pics, seeing a defender jump a route and picking it off is a thing of beauty.

And for what its worth, if this is because if the "DB glitch", mprice33 played the final build at E3 and said it wasn't there. Or maybe I should say he didn't see it.

Three of my favorite things in the demo that don't get talked about much:

1. Taking a D lineman and pushing an O lineman back into the QB or just getting around the LT or RT, but being a split second too late for the sack yet still have an effect on the throw.

2. Post play celebrations. They are way better than last year. Not only the variety, but the context in which most of them animate on the field.

3. The football. The actual size of the football is finally right. You see the ball on every play and replay and it is nice to finally see it proportionate to the player models. It makes a big difference to me.

10 more days!

CPU just intercepted an option pitch for 6 on Heisman.

After missing an entire season by not buying NCAA '13, I must say I'm impressed with what I've seen so far, but there could be improvements. I really like how the Infinity Engine has changed the dynamic of movement in the game, seeing that you're able to do things you couldn't before. I like the challenge that running the football brings, as you really have to think of where you want to go so that you don'y cost yourself yards and such.

I'm struggling on defense, read option is deadly when defending it, but it just takes focus and attention when it comes to who to attack. I'm getting torched like crazy against Bama, but I blame that on my bad playcalling. Maybe I'll put the CPU offense from AA to Varsity or something till I get better.

I've played 6 games & have gone 3-3 (On All-American)
Results:

Alabama 31 | VT (Me) 27
Alabama 27 | VT (Me) 21 [OT]
Ohio State 24 | Michigan (Me) 10
Michigan (Me) 35 | Ohio State 10
Oregon (Me) 24 | Texas A&M 10
Oregon (Me) 14 | Texas A&M 9

In fairness to EA, it's impossible for them to please everyone. If the routes covered too well it's psychic DBs, if its not covered well its a glitch

That nasty long stiff arm animation is my only problem with the demo so far.

So excited.

As a Silver Level XBOX Live Member, I was able to download the Demo yesterday. I enjoyed playing two games with default sliders while I experimented with different Difficulty level combinations. In general, I like the new Infinity action, except for one play. The CPU team had a WR on a sideline streak, covered by a single DB from my team. They were running stride for stride until the DB suddenly veered 90 degrees to the right and ran out of bounds, leaving the WR open for a TD completion. I would expect that this action resulted from the Infinity Engine. It is, after all, software and software is never perfect.

I am a Coach Mode player, so I am hoping that the Coach A Game mode will still be present in the full game, along with the Broadcast Camera.

I used the Coordinator Camera, but I decided the view was from too far away to show play details on my 24 inch flat screen.

Overall, the wealth of editing possibilities will make the game enjoyable for me, unless the Coach A Game mode has been removed.

Has anyone seen their defensive players celebrate when the CPU spikes the ball? Lol

My guys are running around waving their hands around like, "oh yeah, we made him throw an incomplete pass!"

^^ Yeah, hasn't EA said for a few years that they can't fix the size of the football? I didn't even bother checking in the demo because of that.

Yeah the dev team themselves stated they couldn't fix it because it was tied to the animations..

Maybe with the infinity engine in place, they were able to fix it. Very interesting

I just played a game using my sliders from 13. I could not even get a pass off. I quit in the 2nd quarter had about -30 yards. Cant wait for the real game

Im impressed with the combo moves but I have two problems.

1. If you change direction it doesnt slow you down at all even if its a fairly significant change (sometimes it will juke though)

2. what are player breakdowns? you can see them preplay and theyre always changing...

1. EA got the speed cuts on point this year. When players at this level cut, they don't lose a lot of speed. Look at highlights of Ace Sanders and De'Anthony Thomas to see what I mean.

Love the demo and can't wait for July 9th. Just wondering if the pregame show will be more extensive in the retail?

I have been playing around with all the audibles and hot routes and I have discovered a major "cheat". The route "Zig" is uncoverable. I have not had one play where it wasnt a completion. I went 11 for 11 on All American and that was the only pass route I threw to. You guys should try it out to see for yourself.

Was it too big or too small before?

Well, as a fan of EA football from the cradle up to this point, absolutely loving the PS2/XBOX versions and in general being disappointed with damn near all of the current gen iterations I have to give the dev team on this one.

The game feels a little more organic than the previous versions, bringing back the illusion of weight to the players somewhat. Key word somewhat, as the swerving, zig zag is still present in more situations than I'm cool with actually. The little bit of weight thats implemented kiiiind of offsets/cancels out my disappointment. My scale is balanced now instead of weighted towards the disgruntled side.

There are a few things that would complete this game and provide the immersion thats been missing:

1. Camera cuts. The angles need to be raised up a few degrees. I cant figure out why the devs will not provide the correct broadcast angles across the board. You can tell that they are capable of accomplishing this because some of the angles are spot on this year, but then you'll see the same strange ground angles on the next play which completely destroys the immersion. There was one replay where the camera was directly behind and up under the RB (like a sled was tied to him and he was dragging the camera), I mean just COMPLETELY out of whack and bizarre.

2. Some kind of life needs to be added to the avatars themselves. If a cutscene doesn't play, they still walk around like stiff marionettes bumping into each other. Kind of reminds me of those creepy marionettes in those sci fi sitcoms walking around looking all weird. Kills my immersion immediately. A "walk" animation needs to be added for in between plays. The way that the players move and interact in the cutscenes needs to be the way the avatars move in between plays. I know it can be done because I already see small animations from them such as clapping, celebrating, etc. You'll catch it if you pay attention before a cutscene kicks in.

3. Finally, all of the correct equipment and details needs to be implemented. I'm not one of the guys who button through intros, outros, replays, etc. I play the game as if I'm watching a game on television i.e. every replay, every camera cut, whatever, I watch. With that being said, I see the avatars up close and personal just as much as I see them in the standard camera while I'm controlling them. You guessed it, eye black, different head models, mouthpieces, face masks, etc all have to be locked on.

Those three issues, if resolved would put this game in my top 5 EASY.

Oh, and the line interaction is GREATLY improved!! Definitely going to have to tweak some sliders because as of right now it seems like the run game is a bit overpowered.

They've said they would have to redo a lot of the animations but it looks like a lot of the running animations are different so maybe they fixed it when they turned those over.

# 1080 greatness33 @ 06/26/13 06:48 PM
really enjoyed the demo, if you can perfect the running, then you'll be unstoppable with all the cuts, looking forward to the release
