I just witnessed this for the first time since the game came out and it sucked.

Every year 2 users and myself fantasy draft up a team and try to play every game. The head 2 head battles are wht kinda puts a damper on the year But last night was different....

- guess pitch wasn't a gamebreaker. The other users played eachother and dont use guess pitch as a crutch now.

So glad this is improved

Does Hanley Ramirez have a giant head or is it just me? Lol

Also, I just finished up a 3-game series against the Dodgers (as the Red Sox). It was so great to absolutely pummel Beckett (8 ER in 3+IP) and nearly hit a cycle in 2 out of 3 games with Napoli. I also limited Gonzalez and Crawford from producing much, even got the last out of the series on a Gonzo pop up... (And Punto did nothing as well)
Boston's so terrible huh? You just got whooped son!
Gonzalez and Crawford really disappointed me with blaming Boston for there performances even though Gonzo played well. They could have just said they the city and them didnt mesh but they took the low road and bashed the city, which bashes the fans, which bashes a nation, which will never let you live it down... Money doesn't win championship boys (at least not anymore, ex. Giants) Rant over!

This game is just wonderful, Im having a-heck-of-a lotta fun!!!

I'm completely amazed by MLB 13 The Show. I was in limbo getting/not getting a PS3 just to play that game. Finally, after reading impressions, reading about the game and my wife dropping the hammer saying how much I've played with some baseball games over the year that it was worth it, I bough the PS3 and MLB The Show.

There might be glitches, bugs, etc. but so far, the thing that has me jumping all over the place at home is the fun factor. I'm playing mostly RTTS so far, trying almost every position and it's simply amazing the fun I have with this game.

With addition of the rosters and TNK sliders (tweated for Veteran because it's simply too hard for me on AS) I have only praise for this game. After the deception I had over EA Sports game like NHL, Madden and NCAA Football, I've got to say that MLB The Show so far, not beeing perfect, has got me back to a feeling like a kid entering in a candy store.

I was playing Beginner Mode (I'm 70 years old) and decided to try Sportscast Manager. I can see a bright future for Sportscast Manager if we could pop in and out of the game, not just once, but unlimited.

Beginner Mode is exactly that, and for those who are new to the game, and those like me, seniors , this is exactly what the doctor ordered--great!

What's with every CPU infielder being able to make the transfer from glove hand to perfect full strength throw in .000001 seconds while being completely off balance? It really affects the balance of hits vs outs in the game and is extremely disappointing that they don't at least have some sort of arm strength or accuracy penalty when they're making every throw hurried and off one foot yet it's still a perfect throw every time. I've even seen catchers lunge out from behind the plate and already have a throw off to 2nd base before the batter is even out of the box, and when you look at the replay there was no transfer. The ball just morphs from the glove to already in their hand cocked back for the (as always) perfect throw.

It's a rare occurrence that a fielder will actually stop and set his feet before making a throw and it really kills the realistic feel of the game because unless they're charging a slow roller or something no one ever makes those awkward off balance throws off their right foot on routine plays. It also makes it so speedy runners still get doubled up on almost every ground ball with a runner at first. Quite frustrating.

I have plenty of videos of these types of plays.
There are some really bad animations in the game when it comes to CPU fielding. And on routine plays at that. Catchers seem to be the worst.
(Too many) fielding animations are way too rushed and unrealistic. Just like you say, throwing off balance and just making tough plays way too cleanly and effortlessly.

My guess is that a couple years ago, a few people felt that the animations were too slow--fielders took their sweet time, or too many steps or glove pumps before making the plays, and personally I think the developers overcompensated. "Guess" being the key word there.

Just saw something pretty cool I've never seen before, it's pretty minor, but when I was taking my practice cuts with my RTTS centerfielder, the bat actually flew out of his hands on one of the swings and the camera actually switched to an angle I've never seen before to show the bat flying into the stands and my player's befuddled reaction.

I thought it was funny because of the PA announcer always droning on about "bats and balls are prone to leave the playing surface at any time," yet I've never even seen this happen during actual gameplay.

Not really an impression.....but I didn't want to start a thread about it.....

"Why can't SCEA get this or that right in the game?"....

Here's a little peek at the B.S. they have to go through with the MLB.....

Well, I've had this game for about three weeks, and it's still the same old show. Plays a nice game of baseball, smooth (I get the pitch stutter once in a while, no more than once a game, sometimes not at all) and the new timing window is great for zone hitters such as myself.

I've spent most of my time editing players for the opening day rosters, and that is where I have some issues. Most of these are old issues, like being limited in assigning positions and the fact that you can't assign more than five or less than three pitches.

The new thing I don't like, is the new speed differential thing within the pitch types screen. It seems to only be an issue with guys that were created via roster update, I haven't edited any fakes yet. This has made it difficult to give accurate speeds to a few guys.

Still looking to be able to provide a helping hand to the cpu in regards to how it manages the game. They are not very good at handling their pitchers. It would be nice to have the ability to have a manager only mode for games I play against the cpu, and to be able to manage both teams when simming games.

All in all, still plays a pretty game of baseball, and I will play the heck out of it. I would just like a little bit more control to really lock down the sim aspect of this game. If the AI isn't going to be there, let me handle it.

Just played a really fun exhibition game, Atl (me) at Tex, Hudson vs Harrison.

Tim Hudson was painting just outside the zone early, (classic pitching) but the Rangers weren't biting. This seemed to rattle Hudson, and he gave up three runs in the second. He ended up leaving after four and a third, giving up five hits, four walks, and five earned runs.

Matt Harrison earned a quality start, with seven innings, six hits, two walks and two earned runs, but when he got into trouble in the eighth, things snowballed. The Rangers ended up using Ross, Frasor, Scheppers, and Kirkman, and they turned a five to two lead into a eight to five deficit.

Walden and Kimbrel made quick work of the remaining Texas hitters and I earned a nine to five victory.

This game felt really organic, featuring ten extra base hits and eight walks between the two teams.

As someone who loved, but complained a lot about about MLB 12 (my first), this year's version is SO MUCH better.

The ball physics are a gigantic improvement (bloopers!), I can actually hit, and player development is actually fun!

Bravo SCEA and bravo to the OSFM crew as well

I like this game. I need to start my own thread. Hopefully I can after this post. Maybe?

One thing I enjoy about this game is that you can walk with regularity. I'm getting more patient as time goes on, and it's paying dividends, especially when Brett Gardner leads off and then has a chance to run!

It's not like older MLB games where I felt much more comfortable swinging at the first decent pitch I got because I couldn't take walks.

As for player development as mentioned above, it's fun trying to mould certain players as they go through their career.

For example I have an A rated first base prospect who has 71/63 for contact but mid 20s for fielding ability. I have to make the decision as to whether this guy is a career DH or try my best to improve his defence so he can be of use in that regard.

Craziness.

Edit: Aaaaaand now another six runs in the second on 7 more hits. Holy crap.
Beginner Mode does wonders, that's all I can say.

Playing an exhibition game as the Cubs at home vs the Brewers.

The Shark just picked up his 10th k in the sixth, and it went to a montage of all 10 k's. Don't know if this was in last year's game, but it was pretty cool.

Playing an exhibition game as the Reds at Pittsburgh.

Bronson Arroyo is twirling a four hit shutout entering the bottom of the eighth, and the cpu Pirates manager goes nuts. Josh Harrison pinch hits for Russell Martin, (slightly better contact ratings, far worse power ratings, a 25 for plate vision), Travis Snider pinch hits for Barmes, (more of a bottom of the ninth move down 1-0, more power) and Mckenry pinch hits for the pitcher.

The real kicker is that Harrison stayed in the game at catcher, and Snider stayed in the game at shortstop.

SCEA, you need to give us the ability to make managerial decisions for the CPU. I guess I'll be playing an AL season once again, and dreading trips to NL parks.

This was my favorite show because I could finally hit...every game wasnt a 2-1 or 3-2 pitchers duel. Then, after I downloaded the most recent patch, something happened. Now, my hitting is even worse than it was in past years; I haven't scored a run in 2 straight games. Did the patch change anything about hitting? Is it possible the patch somehow messed up my sliders/difficulty? (I havent checked because I keep turning the PS3 off the second the game ends). I am frustrated because I finally got the Mets back to competing and now I cant buy a hit.

Ejections in this game really need a overhaul. Ross Detwiler hit 3 of my batters, being the immature man-child that I am I decided that I was going to plunk him after the 3rd HBP. So I plunk him in the back and he charges the mound. After the cutscene is done I get a pop up saying that my SP needs to be replaced yet Ross Detwiler is still in the game even though he charged the mound? Just a minor gripe I have with the game.

I love that the fielders are more alert on higher difficulties this year. I get a hit and my runner on 1st goes to 3rd. As I go to 3rd, my runner over runs 3rd base, the cut off man alertly throws to 3rd and gets a much needed out. I was soooo pissed.
