Madden NFL 13 News Post


Check out the Madden NFL 13 title update #3 details.

Feature Additions:

Custom Rosters Offline: Added the ability to start an offline career with a custom roster.

Connected Careers Edit Player: Added the ability to edit gear and information for players in a league.

Coach Mode in Connected Careers: Added the ability to use coach mode in Connected Careers.

Changing Schemes in Connected Careers: Added the ability to change offensive and defensive schemes as a coach.

Offline Play Along in Connected Careers: Added the ability for multiple people to join a CCM game. This applies to coaches only.

Draft Clock: Added a draft clock during the draft that is displayed on screen if you leave the draft interface to view rosters, depth charts, etc.

Draft Filter: Added a filter to the draft screen to display players that have been drafted.

Connected Careers Practice XP: Added the ability for user controlled players to earn extra XP in practice mode through the stats they accumulate.
Gameplay Tuning:
  • Fixed an issue where WRs were dropping too many passes when playing on All Madden difficulty setting.
  • Fixed an issue where it was too easy to time the kick meter on FGs and PATs in user vs. user games.
  • Fixed an issue where punt returners were moving away from the landing spot if you called a fair catch while letting the CPU control the player.
  • Fixed an issue where someone who attempted to bull rush with the R stick once the ball was snapped activated run commit.
Commentary:
  • Added over a dozen logic fixes to make our commentary more intelligent.
Presentation:
  • Fixed an issue where specific offensive player celebrations were not triggering.
  • Fixed an issue where the referee was backwards when calling a penalty.
  • Fixed an issue with the Giants away uniforms (missing a sleeve stripe).
Connected Careers:
  • Fixed an issue where Offline Gameplay AI/Logic did not match the logic in Play Now.
  • Fixed an issue where playing the game on All-Madden is too easy.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the camera setting in CCM game works for single player.
  • Fixed an issue where League Sliders had limited impact on difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where the Accelerated Clock did not function in an online CCM game when the option was set to On.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not turn on/off GameFlow in CCM.
  • Fixed an issue where you were unable to sign Free Agents during the season.
  • Fixed an issue where 'Starting a League' would reset Player Schemes.
  • Fixed an issue where after declining a trade offer, you are no longer able to accept or decline another offer.
  • Fixed an issue where you could exploit supersim to run the game clock indefinitely.
  • Fixed some spelling and polish issues in the News and Twitter.
  • Fixed an issue where a coach could make a contract offer to a user controlled player.
  • Fixed an issue where you are forced to select a throwing style for a created player that is not a QB.
  • Fixed an issue where turning Auto-Start to off does not save week to week.
  • Fixed an issue where you can see rookie overall ratings by accessing the player card of the prospect through Team Needs.
  • Fixed an issue where changing Auto-Sub Frequency does not change the correct data.
  • Fixed an issue where the profanity filter was preventing offline players from typing in their names.
  • Fixed an issue where you can draft a player and then trade down while the draft is paused. The issue resulted in the user keeping both the traded picks and drafted player.
Stability:
  • Fixed numerous crashes.
  • Fixed an issue with the in-game pause menu disappearing.
Madden Ultimate Team:
  • Changed the Packs button to Store Button.
  • Condensed Leaderboards and Help menus.
  • Implemented the ability to view videos from the hub.
  • Implemented Store Panel Changes.
  • Moved Auctions/Trades to a separate menu option.
  • Fixed several Solo Challenge exploits
Playbooks:
  • Fixed an issue where theHail Mary formation in a custom playbook had a blank play that resulted in a broken formation and invisible players if selected.

So...I did have to change my panties half way thru reading the patch details...

You guys have no idea how torn I am between HC and M13 now though...now they both have an equal amount (okay i'm being slightly generous here but HEY doesn't it feel like Christmas?) of positives and negatives each side.

I do feel much better though that maybe even by M14, the HC offseason (is that not the best part of any football game made ever btw?) will be an integral part of the new Madden series. Like I said, I'm so torn, like which scouting process do I like better HC or M13? I dunno??? I love the Pro Days, and Individual workouts, but I love the POT being 86'd. I'm not sure how I feel about the development in M13 though, I think between playbook knowledge and practices HC still has the advantage there with individual player development.

But I digress, and I could go on for hours saying M13 is better with this but HC is better with this, but M13 is better at this and ... so on...

All I want is HC hidden inside the grooves of a Madden Blu-ray and well, color me tickled me elmo.

What about the DB 45 degree angle glitch? That happened to me a couple of times and I also read it on an Amazon review for the game as well as saw it in a thread on this forum, so I know it wasn't just me. Anyway, I traded the game in already. But it's nice to see that they've addressed a lot of the concerns with this game.

and that leads to my major issue, the art clean-up that is needed on the uniforms. KANE on these very forums has been communicating with Donny Moore and other EA reps, and he has a list of 78 uniform errors in this year's game alone! 78! Now obviously some are more minor than others. There are still glaring errors and omissions present though. The Panthers stripes on the Nike jerseys are reversed and cut off. The Bears don't have their Navy Blue Nike pants. The Giants missing stripes is finally mentioned as getting fixed, but what about some other uniforms that simply need fixing?

Not to sound ungrateful. Not at all. Just wish, whether through a roster update, or a tuner, or even DLC we could get the uniform errors corrected this year.
Ravens, with the no-huddle, aren't as run-heavy as they used to be.

Otherwise, you bring up some good points and hopefully we get some clarification on at least a few of them.

Good point, substitute Jacksonville or Minnesota for Baltimore then.

its so ****ing pathetic how people are STILL ****ing complaining. this is huge this makes the game so much better and people are still complaining. its so annoying. just shows no matter what theres still going to be people hating

It seems there is still some major flaws left unattended. My two sticking points are teams playing like they do in real life and total roster control for every team, this has been there in the past, why not this year?

You know what hans, I was starting to think the same thing 1/2 way through reading this thread but then I realized something. We should all continue complaining (some do it correctly, some don't and we can't help that since complaining isn't even the right word) to get what each of us want individually.

A lot of items were addressed and I think it is okay, to say, okay, now fix this next, so now I'm not so annoyed with the people that complained by mentioning things they wanted fixed that didn't get fixed.

I'm just ignoring those that complain for no reason, we all can see through those posts quickly enough.

NOW, I'm headed to the Little Things thread to put in allll my suggestions now that there is hope <3

OH, what about them fixing being able to see the draft prospects ratings in the team needs section!!! THAT one surprised me the most they fixed. WoW

I'm also hoping a lot of things will be fixed when we get the patch that weren't mentioned just because they were too obvious or menial to mention in the patch notes....like Wind Direction for one.

Good question would like to know this as well. No point having a player mode if the supersim is totally broken.

Love all the other updates thou, didn't think it would be happening this year, great job EA

What about this problem?:

Whenever I try to make a trade, I get this message: "Your trade offer could not be submitted at this time, Please try again later." I've tried enabling and disabling trades, removing the title update, then re-installing it, proposing trades during the preseason, regular season, and every off season stage but alas, no dice. I've had this problem for over two seasons and it doesn't matter if I try to trade picks, future picks, or players, I keep getting that message. There are no longer proposals for my players that I put on the trade block, there are no longer any players on the trade block from other teams, there no option to attempt to trade up or down while the Draft is in progress. I have absolutely no idea what to do anymore and it would be much appreciated if I could get an answer for my problem..

you dodge the third question in his post. will the ps3 still crash after you try to turn the game off on the xmb?

Read the patch notes. They said they fixed the trading issues so you should be good when the patch comes out.

Happy to see the following updates.

Though I have a concern about the following:

Will this effect the AI in "Online CCM" as well?

How much impact will "League Sliders" have now? How much can they effect gameplay, for example "QB Accuracy" at 0, will we be lucky to have any completions?
