I love the new physics, but I do feel like there are some overexaggerated animations but that's expected, I guess.

One play, Frank Gore looked like he got shot in the back the way he went down.

Run blocking is very suspect on all-pro. It seems really unbalanced, the cpu can hit holes and hold blocks for what it seems like forever, even when I bring a blitz. While on the user side, as soon as the rb receives the handoff it's a defender in his face, hitting holes seems almost impossible because your teammates can't block for ish, and when you finally do get a big gain, it's a holding call.

Idk if this is just me, because I haven't played madden in a while.

I cannot believe they still haven't put back in the drive summary.....Kinda kills the broadcast presentation for me and was in there until last year....

I honestly don't understand all the hate in this thread. Many years this game has been, well............. just plain bad. Madden is moving in the right direction, but many have nothing good to say at all about the demo. How in the world could someone not see any positives from this years game? If you can't enjoy this years game, then I guess you'll never enjoy a football game ever.
Yes you are correct we did want a new physics engine, but one that was implemented properly. BB released a new physics engine and it was not perfect but it was better implemented.

It's like asking for a car, and when they give you one it doesnt work. Then what was the point? Give me the car when it is running yes?

I feel the whole IE thing was to give hype and sell games. The IE engine could have waited for next gen to be honest. This way they have a great amount of time with it, and really wow us with the implementation.

why the color on ps3 looks really dark? I have to turn my brightness up little bit. This is weird. Overall gameplay still feels same as madden 12.

This game is soo bad on all madden -.- im playing the game right now and 3 straight possessions in a row i fumble! I DID NOTuse any juke move or stiff arm to INCREASE the fumble rate.. The cou just flat out made me fumble 3 times in a row! First bradshaw running, nicks caught a pass and ran 3 -: yards and fumbled then victor cruz!

Your 100% right! Last night i was playing on all-pro and i get 2-3 yard gain and a 12 yard gain that got called back for a hold lol. My formations even had extra blockers to the side where the cpu had LESS defenders and the play still got blown up! Im having a easier time running on all-madden as i play now !

It works, but how well is another question. It is buggy, players limbs look like rubber / elastic.. Hits and falls are sometimes over done. There are still sometimes when a player falls down for no reason.. But the tackling is MUCH improved over last year

If you start the game up and don't hit the START button, after a minute the game will demo a Giants 49er game on its own from the broadcast camera. You could also start a game and just before kick off switch the controller to the middle and the cpu will play it out. However the game will be from behind the QB.

Woah, woah woah. I have agreed that your opinion that you didn't like the game were fine to have but the statement that Natural Motion did a better job implementing a physics engine is just flat out false and this is coming from someone that loved backbreaker. It had literally the exact same problems. Running up the middle was impossible because if you touched an olineman you went down. Guys arms got twisted behind their back in the exact same way. If you think madden played better with canned animations that's you opinion and fine but don't point to Natural Motion having any more success than ea because this is infinitely more playable than backbreaker at release.

Whats with the lack of control for corner backs or linebackers when going to jumo for the ball.. Im pressing the triangle button every time the ball is in the air and my guy doesnt even attempt to jump! Even when i press the swat button -.- this game is really turning me off

CRMosier it has been stated all over this thread what we feel is bad about this Infinity engine. Please forgive me but I'm not going to re-write the problems with the IE.

Where there are moments that it does something nice, the majority of the time the engine has the game looking very sloppy and clumsy.

This is how I see it and if you dont see it that way, it's cool. I repspect your joy.

I've really enjoyed the demo thus far.

However, I'm looking forward to seeing the ZBS used by the Redskins and Texans better represented when the linemen are addressed next year. The smaller/faster linemen who utilize leverage don't get much love in this game.

Not sure if its a bug. But going to all-madden drops all of the human sliders to 25 while the CPU stays at 50. So catching, run block pass block etc are all lowered for you.

Are we talking prepatch or post patch?

Rememeber when BB first released the running game was fine, and the passing was not. Then the Greenhouse patch released and the exact opposite happened. Where the running game became a mess and the passing game was nice.

It all depends on when you played the game, and if it was with the greenhouse patch or not.

Me personally prior to the greenhouse patch BB physics engine was implemeted nicely, not perfect but implemetned better than Madden IE.

True?

Dont make me whip out my personal batch of BB videos! lol

Please make me I have some nice ones

NCAA and Madden controls....

Did I miss something? I thought they were making the controls for NCAA and Madden the same this year finally. I have been playing NCAA almost everyday and I'm here to tell you the controls are not the same... so am I "misremembering" or did they really say that?

Prepatch running was better but still had the issue with the rb and the o line. Running in space was much better but the reason for the patch was the passing game was completely broken. I would not consider that better implemented. Both have/had serious faults. I still play backbreaker to this day but would not exactly say either won the implementation prize.

What I will say after thinking about it was that they did do a much better job of limiting movement within momentum constraints, but they kind of cheated. The made you round off all your cuts unless you used the juke button but it did play out more realistic that the twitch of madden. Arrggh, you are making me start to see areas ea should have had fixed even in their first go

I think the presentation and commentary is great. Can’t ask for a lot more in that department.
IE is kind of random and doesn’t look tidy all the time, but the end result of each tackle generally makes sense, which is what we are after. What bugs me is the tackled player often lies on the ground for several seconds, like he is injured, and 2 or 3 players trip over him like infants learning to walk... not so much like pro athletes.
I am worried about the stats not tracking assist tackles and when sorting the stats the cursor flicks back to the name - eg. sort receiving column by 'drops' and it flicks back to the name so you have to scroll all the way back again to see the drops stat.
All in all, a positive step from my point of view.

Ive been pretty harsh on madden this year especially since they removed editing because they couldnt get it implemented perfectly and put in a new engine that many of us knew wouldnt be perfect.

That being said if they can tweak the physics on tackles and post play and make the game play and feel more realistic than the demo i will play and enjoy madden 13 until next year.
Approx 8-10 weeks. There is a retail video out where you can see a retail tackle. Running back tension looks better but there are stil wrapping issues.

It's a bit goofy the new engine. Game looks more like a Crayola creation now then it ever has.

It feels like Madden 2002 on crack. If you go back and watch old 2002, 2003 videos, you'll see the physics engine was kind of like that. Players just exploding away from each other instead of actually tackling them. On a one on one tackle, my running back does like a swan dive/belly flop/Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan-like selling move upon impact. Flying back unrealistically, and even the tackler did sort of a bounce back and flop. Just totally outlandish. However, it's not that bothersome to me so won't derail my plans on getting it first day. I just hope they work hard on this before retail, with patches and eventually going in to the next few years and next gen. Infinity Engine perfected will be something.

Anyone have problems user catching as the WR? User picks are all good, but on offense I seem stuck.

One more thing - after playing a bunch of All Maddens, I played one Rookie game, and you can really feel the infinity engine on it. Seemed to tone down a lot of the goofy stuff after plays everyone has been mentioning.

I have yet to really lab the looks of Cover 2 vs Man and Cover 3 vs Cover 1 and all that crap but I'll wait to read the Season Pass reviews on all that.
