Your previous post sounded like typical PC elitism to me.

Sorry if that's not what you meant.

People are talking about the demo like its a beta version. I think you guys forget that the game drops in less than 2 weeks. Do you really think they are going to fix all the major issues? Set your expectations accordingly as some of you who state "its just the demo" are going to be very disappointed when the game is released.

Yes it is a demo, do you think the demo is made from the final build sent to be manufactured? I highly doubt it and that some of the issues expressed might have already been fixed/addressed.

We've been asking for physics. They give us physics and they get bashed for it. It's either not good enough or should have already had it years ago (I guess NBA 2K should have had it years ago too). We ask for better presentaion. They've made leaps in this department the last 2 years, but they get bashed for it. Darned if they do and darned if they don't. EA just can't win.

I honestly don't understand all the hate in this thread. Many years this game has been, well............. just plain bad. Madden is moving in the right direction, but many have nothing good to say at all about the demo. How in the world could someone not see any positives from this years game? If you can't enjoy this years game, then I guess you'll never enjoy a football game ever.

I don't know if this has been asked,
But when you edit the User Sliders to adujust them,
Why does the Gameplay Menu say your on Rookie setting?

Pros
Passing is better
Physics Finally
Presentation Better

Cons
Zig Zag Running
Blocking
AI Play Calling

Im still on the fence about this game but at least they are moving in the right direction.

dont really like this game the physics engine is kinda dumb after play is over players are tripping over each other which is annoying an if running back runs into one of his linemen he falls right down i seen that in the seattle vs washington game.. looks like the physics engine still need to be worked on more also need work on a better tackle engine too

The only thing missing from this game is Jim Nantz screaming "BOOM SHACKALACKA!!!" because there is nothing "real" about this game.

Also, I have and do enjoy football games plenty. Madden is not a football game. Its an abomination, a Frankenstein's monster of sports video games that unfortunately has the exclusive license of being called an NFL game.
Real foot planting needs to be in the game. I'm not sure how hard this is to do, I'm not a developer lol but I would like to see this. However, I am happy about the progress that has been made and I'm hoping that things like this will be worked on for next year. Heres to hoping!

The Demo is going to be very close to the final build. Its called a Demo for a reason, to give people a sample so they buy the game. If it was called a beta, then its to find the bugs and fix them before the release. You really think a code revision is going to happen 2 weeks away from release? They probably have already started printing the game. Like I stated before, don't get your hopes up.

Something else that I loved was that the defenders seemed to take realistic angles. I broke out on a run from my own side of the field and the Safety came all the way over and forced me out at the 5. Yes, I know that they've halfarsed the angles in the past but the RTP engine has perfectly handled that part of the game.

Here is a problem I think some are having, Do you want people to judge the game as it is, or judge the dev teams effort/feature list ? Some of you are blurring the lines between 2 distinct things.

Yes this team added some things we all wanted to the game, but thats not the thing being judged in this thread. Its the game we are playing.

I am not going to give my full review till I put some more time in with the demo, but from what i have played so far this game needs a lot of work. Some of you seem to be content with the fact the game has somewhat of a physics engine in it but ignore the fact it DOES have some issues.

The demo is at minimum two weeks old. The devs have already talked about significant changes not included in the demo(replay changes, camera angle additions) and all of ea's recent games have changed fairly significantly from demo to retail.

WOW a whole 2 weeks! Continue to fool yourselves. I for one will not be surprised one bit when the MAJOR flaws are still there. I'll still play the game, but giving people false hope by saying its "ok, its just the demo" is misleading.

I'll buy it on release night.... Like I do every year....

Physics are great, the commentary is going to get old very fast for me...You can get most of the realism in gameplay by tweaking the sliders obviously..

It all comes down to Connected Careers for me as to whether or not I feel this game deserved my 60 dollars... i have high hopes for it...

Notice the at minimum part. Since that is the amount of time required for certification I only wanted to use facts. Just like the other two examples you chose to ignore when composing your conjecture.

Get back to impressions people, good grief.

Glad you posted that. I was wondering if you had gotten a feel for that since you played it at various points through development.

And I suppose those other two examples are major flaws? I'm talking about game impacting issues such as the IE acting strange during gameplay that wont be fixed by the time the game hits the shelves.

I personally thought they were flaws when I played. They both kind of took away from the immersion and presentation they were trying to improve.

My point was that FIFA experienced the exact same issues with wonky physics performance in the FIFA demo that were largely resolved by retail. No reason the same thing can't happen with Madden.

The first game I played I was not that impressed. The second game I played I started to see some thing I really like. Definately some strides being made but until we have competition again the improvements will be incremental at best. Going in the right direction though.

One small thing I was happy to see was the beautiful slo-mo replays that reminded me of the first madden on the PS2.
