Iv'e come to the conclusion that the majority of the people on this board don't know what they want when it comes to Madden.

EVERY single year, Madden is the worst ever, Madden takes a step back from the previous. Give me a break. If you're not noticing the improvements to this game, you're either blind, or you just have an agenda.

If Madden takes a step back every year, Madden 06 should be the best of this generation, but that's sure as hell not the case is it?

From over complaining about the lighting, to saying the infinity engine is a step back and actually makes the game worse? Seriously just stop it. I'll never get half of you people. No matter what game EA puts out it will be disappointing and the worst ever.

They really did nice with QB throwing on the run. But once again I feel that they are chasing the M08 wish list. It's just SO FAR BEHIND that it's hard to give them credit for an improvement like that.

This year's Madden is just straight garbage. Worst gameplay I have seen in a Madden yet. Coming straight from NBA 2k12 like I am (my personal gripes about that game's AI not withstanding), Madden feels like it was made by a bunch of amateurs.

I was actually letting myself get hyped for this year's game. Big mistake.
You serious? Wow... I think someone may be exaggerating just a tad.

I think the game looks promising personally.

I know that people have different opinions but 13 is a downgrade in basically all areas? Really?

Wow. I don't know what to say.

Apparently posting that Madden 13 feels like an arcade game, even though tons of people feel the same way, is egregious. My bad. It's not like I won't buy the game, gotta have Madden, but it played like **** in the demo. Deal with it.

Oh look, another bomb to Nicks. That was hard.

Aside from presentation, yes. However, it could play completely different when the real thing comes out.

So because YOU say it, and because you keep peddling your little review of a DEMO around here, we're all supposed to be in conjunction that the game is pure ****?

Sure, it has it's problems, as does EVERY video game EVER made. NBA 2K12, MLB The Show, ALL have problems. For you to say that it's a step backwards and pure trash is just you spewing trash out of your mouth.

It has problems, glitches, bugs, doesn't play 100% accurate to the game of NFL football, but guess what, no game EVER has and NEVER will. NFL 2K5 didn't, APF 2K8 didn't, and no game ever will.

But what we have here is a pretty damn good NFL sim that will provide a lot of fun for a lot of people. You're trashing it just to trash it.

Just played the demo for the first time. I really liked it. Only thing I'm dissapointed about is the kicking isnt as sim as I'd like.

Whats going to make or break this game for me is the game modes

I just didn't think it felt like a sim at all. Players change directions on a dime without losing speed. Tacklers bounce off each other like ping pong balls. It felt like arcade action TO ME. To each his own, I guess. I sure hope there are improvements for the game's full release, as I'll be playing a lot of it regardless and don't want to score 50 a game on the hardest difficulty.

Just for the record, I have not had this problem at all. I can see colors and jerseys and differentiate the two teams just fine.

I believe everyone who is saying they have an issue, but I just don't see it.

Like this they can keep making incremental, non-significant changes and market the hell out of it like it's a brand new title. Small changes every year.

Having said that, I disagree that it's a step backwards. That's just anger.

Is it mediocre though?... Of course it is. That's why it's only on consoles.
PC elitism? Really?

Unless this game has significant changes on the season ticket version, I am going to pass on Madden this year. I cannot get over how terrible the tackling looks. RTP on Madden is not ready for primetime.

# 1034 roadman @ 08/15/12 02:32 PM
My major issue is that tackling looks horrendous. There are barely no wrap up tackles, looks like a bowling bowl game.

I can deal with what's not in the game, we've know that for months, including foot planting and the franchise features from last year left out.

This build better be an old one and better be tuned before Aug. 28th.

Please stop spamming the thread with your reviews. Everytime you post a link I click on it thinking it is something different.

His comment wasn't pc elitism at all. He wasn't saying pc players are somehow better at the game or know more. He was simply saying that given nodding capabilities at home programmers would potentially be able to fix many of the problems in the game and expose deficiencies in the madden programming team.

This may have been the most hostile I've ever seen you! I agree though; the physics and tackling are wonky in this demo. I don't suspect this will be the case in the retail, but stranger things have happened.

# 1038 BigBlue72 @ 08/15/12 02:46 PM
I understand that there will always be people who won't enjoy this game, and they have every right not to. But to me this demo is fantastic.

The NEW physics engine makes the game so much different. Receivers actually go up for the ball and not rocket catch style. I threw a deep pass to Randy Moss and took control to make him go right over Antrell Rolls and his momentum carried him into the endzone. It's great to see tall receivers have an advantage over small corners.

I have seen instances where players just run into eachother for a tackle, but it's a brand new system. It's going to have some flaws. And they are extremely minor. The guys at EA disappointed for the first 5 or 6 years (to 10 or 11). Now 13 looks like the direction I've been looking for. Madden 05 was the last great Madden game. 13 is looking like the next to me. 12 was very good, but the catching has been a huge gripe for me. So far I love it this year.

Straw, you are aware that Total Control Passing is Left Stick, not right stick, correct. It says Right Stick in your review.

Just an FYI.

I hear you, when one of the loyal customers speaks up and is not happy about something, I would expect some customer satisfaction in return.

The tackling, ugh................, not all the time, but in replays, it looks like they spaghetti arms.
