Pretty spot-on review.
That review was a little too negative. I do agree about the announcers talking about your defensive adjustments being something I do not like. I don't need the announcers telling the guy I'm playing the adjustments I am making to shut him down. The only time this would help me is when I show blitz when I'm not really blitzing.

That was probably the worst review I've ever read. As a matter of fact I stopped a quarter of the way through. Sounds like its written by a bitter 5 year old who wants to complain about every little thing.

Complain that the score bar is blue? Guess what, NFLN's is mostly blue, so is CBS, and Fox.. It was done in an attempt to make it look more like real TV presentation.

Give me a break.

I love everything about the new presentation so far. Makes it seem almostlike you are actually watching a game on CBS. I'd be EA's deal with ESPN is really the only reason there isn't CBS logos plastered all over the in game presentation as well. AFterall, there's already Simms and Nantz there now.

did u guys notice any progressive lighting like EA said there would because I didn't notice anything?...according to them it's a play by play thing instead of quarter by quarter thing like '12.....and on another note, the tackles do look "wonky". especially when the RB's runs into their own lineman. they get knocked down immediately like rag dolls. kinda silly BUT it is just a demo right?....r..right??

The crowd noise is also really good. I do have some concerns though. The cpu was way too easy to beat. I played on All Pro with the 49ers and beat NYG 27-0. Eli Manning had 0... that's right 0 yards passing until the 4th quarter and I was able to sack him at will. I didn't touch the sliders or anything. I know some of you will say that I should be playing on All Madden, but I haven't played a Madden game since Madden 10, so it's been a few years since I even touched Madden and I havent played NCAA since NCAA 11. Also, the physics does some crazy stuff during tackles and especially after a play. I had a Ray McDonald pull a full fledged Exorcist head turn while making a tackle. And after the play it just looks like a train wreck. Also, the lighting is horrible in the Redskins - Seahawks game. The teams look waaaay too dark in the bright sun. With all of that said, I can live with those issues. The main issue for me that has me rethinking buying this game is that I was just plain BORED with it after a few games. Nothing about it made me want to be like, "I've got to have this game". The presentation is okay, but I found myself skipping over most of it and I'm a huge presentation guy. In other games I sit through all of the presentation elements before I play a game, but I just kept trying to skip through Maddens. The only way I'll buy Madden is if I really want to play with the 49ers. Other than that, I may skip this year like I did the last few. I'm not saying the game is terrible, but I just don't think it's worth my $59.99.
LMAO!!!!!!!...their ALL demons this year!!

Where are you finding the option to change it to slow?!

Total Recall 1990 Quato "open your mind....open your mind"
I have approached this game with a open mind and yeah it is 8 games too late for most but this is what madden should have been when it 1st came to next gen. A lot of people feel its a little too little, too late, so they will never see past the numerous flaws. I know for a fact that 2k5 was the most perfect football game ever. With that being said it had a ton of flaws, money plays, and glitches...and I mean money plays. I had 107 sack seasons with Corey Simon, 28 picks with my safety, so it was not a perfect game.

My point is this is a new dev team its not dumb a$$ Ian Cummins and they seem to actually be making a decent attempt to give us a much better product so I will give them a chance. Its the 1st year and it sucks that we had to wait so long for some next gen football but it is better late than never. I can appreciate the effort and thanks to the new devs...just keep moving in the right direction.

Same here that review was painful to read. I did read it all, but that review was poorly done and very immature.

I do agree with some of his gripes. I just dont agree with the delivery.

I finally dl'd and played the demo this morning...

When the Giants were in hurry up mode, and I had my defense in man coverage I noticed on two separate plays that my defenders lined up on the wrong side, leaving receivers wide open.

I am not amused.

There was no big head mode activated, genius. He just had a giant head for no reason.

@thbends

Pause the game and go to settings, its there. you can't do it pregame. As for the progressive lighting, I'm going to assume b/c it's a demo they didn't include it in. NCAA didn't include field degredation in its demo and it caused a stir. I wouldn't worry about it. This is the football game of this generation.

I didn't want it to be negative, that's just the way it came out. Yeah, the announcing drove me NUTS in terms of play adjustments, but perhaps that won't be so online?

I have to try the game on slow tonight and see if that makes it better. Hopefully with feedback, EA will make the online game slower, too.

Seems like you spent more time writing that poor review instead of actually playing the demo. Little too eager to get your bashing in and spam it instead of going through the entire thing.

Ok saw this was a pretty hot thread so I guess I will input my thoughts on the DEMO! DEMO! I repeat DEMO! Now this is what I see, I was the Ny giants last night every time vs the 49ers, Giants are my team so I was actually quite excited to play them in the demo. Now I am an ncaa guy but have been anticipating this game for some time now, I feel that the game is a major success over the previous titles. I have been playing this game since the genesis and I have never felt as "in the game" as I have felt in this demo, I usually play on all pro but I am desent at all madden, Last night I played on just all pro and got my tail kicked all over the field I left the settings as they were and did not tinker with anything and I actually lost to the computer, and for the first time I did not get upset or want to break my 2000 dollar television, Why? because I was not cheated the computer beat me fair and square all 6 games and I repeat all 6 games, so I think the AI is greatly improved, the engine is great I like the different looks of tackling animations and I am seeing some very real stats after each and every game that I play. I could not run on the 49ers to save my ***, I think I was 13for 40 yards the entire game, that stat my friends is real without even adjusting the settings one smidge. field goals are nice and they are difficult, If I did have a gripe it would have to be that After the play was over the animations got a little silly, but keep in mind it is a DEMO! not finished ware. This game feels good I may have lost because I was lost in how awsome it is to use the kinect feature I was calling audibles to my hearts content and all I had to say is things like o-line block right, cover davis while on michael boley, this makes the strategy of the game much more realistic in my opinion this game is the best product even in the DEMO that has been released by EA thus far and to critisize a game that is not even in full effect as of yet is well, silly!

Yea I could never play Madden at normal speed, I switch to Slow.
I think Online last year was , the speed was set to slow on default also. I don't remember, but at slow speed you could appreciate the new animations and IE more.

Ok, dude. I didn't want to be writing a negative review, it was just a disappointing demo. Comparing it to last year's game, it's a downgrade almost across the board. If you don't agree, that's your call, but reading many other folks' opinions, it seems I'm in the majority.

I can see how it can be annoying as I thought it was dumb at first but then all of a sudden I found it amusing being able to trigger commentary. I started showing blitz JUST to hear Nantz say "I smell blitz!". It's awesome if you can get a chuckle out of it!

How old is this build anyways?...the infinity engine does need to be toned down a bit. especially after the play. it's pretty comical watching guys fall over each other as if they're blind. they are so oblivious to their surroundings.
