I realy dont understand why this happens...seems like every running play there are 6-7 defenders at the LOS and as soon as the ball is snapped they all run directly forward which leads to 1 of 3 things;

a. gain of 0-2 yards because one of the guys breaks off the block very quickly.

b. gain of 8-12 yards because one of the guys breaks off the block quickly, but a milisecond too late and there is noone behind the line for support because the linebackers run straight forward at the snap.

c. gain of 8-12 yards because I can just bounce it outside all day

The line play in this game is worse than in ncaa. I originally stated that this game feels very dynamic, but after playing it more it just seems like more of the same old stuff besides infinity engine (which is good IMO).

The running game is not more dynamic, it is very robotic. Seeing the same things over and over again is making me upset.

First, this game is so far beyond NCAA and what that team has done that it's not even funny. There isn't a single thing that isn't better in Madden.

Second, this demo alone is the best Madden I've ever played, and maybe football game period. Graphics, physics, commentary, presentation, gameplay, etc, etc... everything is just great. The improvements these devs have made astound me. Madden 12 let me down a little after 11... But this game? Wow.

Enjoy guys. I know I will.
I've seen a number of people say the bolded, and I'm glad. Not b/c I wanted to see NCAA play second fiddle, but I think people raised an eyebrow when I said how much I disliked NCAA but enjoyed Madden.

The demo has its issues, but NCAA is simply not as well put together a game as Madden is. I'm looking forward to the retail to hopefully clean up some of the funky stuff in the demo. I felt the game was more polished than this in June, so I'm *hoping* this demo is an older build than what I played two months ago.

Just played the demo for PS3 and I will say that while it's better than 2012 there still is some improvement that needs to be made.

Pro's: Infinity engine, Improved passing mechanics, Tackling, Presentation

Cons: Running animations, skating, deep ball too effective, hard to defend the pass, no penalties outside of holding and false start

I will probably be passing on this one because it's nothing that jumps out to me that makes me feel like buying it ASAP

So I played 3 games and I just don't feel it. Haven't bought a Madden since Madden 10. Played the 11,12 and now 13 demo and I just don't see buying it. I really want too because I love football and want to play with some of the rookies, but the gameplay is just not what I expected. I put the Ncaa 13 demo on and I feel that played the same.

I'm playing the demo of Madden and I'm just like ok nothing is different except the tackles. I kind of knew the RTP, or whatever its called, was only on tackles from the videos that I watched. I was hoping it was on more things like the GC's kept hinting at, but I don't see it. I'll play tomorrow. Maybe I was excepting more and not really focusing on what is good. I'll let my mind rest and see tomorrow....

I just played a quick game on the demo as SF. I like what I experienced for the most part, and I was stunned to see a DFI penalty called. I will have to play more, but I do like what I played.

I was in the middle of playing my first game and I stopped just to post my impression. Without even finishing a game I can tell this will be my favorite Madden to date gameplay wise just from a demo alone.

The Infinity Engine is definitely a huge step in the right direction. Although I have seen some funky things like two players hitting each other and both of them flies backwards, and jittery movement while trying to get up but nothing bad that I have seen is game breaking. It seems like players are actually treated as physical objects.

Most, but not all, of the tackles look very good, im seeing realistic gang tackles, and not a lot of suction tackles. Im loving the stadium sounds also. I can hear crowd swells, and the stadium music is loud and actually sounds like it is coming from a stadium.

One thing that is going to drive me crazy is the play calling screens. It is just to small and all the assignments look bunched together.

Right now Lynch is a absolute beast. EA must walk a thin line when it comes to things like this. IRL Lynch is a beast also and most of the time it takes more then one defender to bring him down but at the same time I dont want him to be like Earl Campbell. I remember in last years demo on All-Madden, the CPU was beasting. Everyone, even Rodgers and Cutler was breaking tackles on a constant basis but everything was toned down during in the retail version. Thats why im also not concerned with things like Flynn torching me.

EA needs to turn down the big hits. Also was is there a loud crash sound during every big hit. It sticks out like a sore thumb
I will definitely tip my cap to EA for this demo. Im playing on All-Madden BTW.

Anybody not able to download madden on ps3? Or do you need play station plus?

# 728 oneamongthefence @ 08/14/12 11:02 PM
A few more thoughts...

CPU run game on all pro is pretty bad. All pro is the easiest all pro in Madden in a long time.

I saw this really funny thing happen. I was the Giants and I threw a pick. Cut to Eli walking away when outta know where he gets torpedo'd. I literally lol'ed.

Super linebacker is def gone.
I didn't see a problem with lighting on ps3.

I think the reason for no replays in the demo is pretty obvious. I couldn't imagine the amount of Youtube videos showing every flaw with infinity.

What an embarrassment. Players look horrible. Scratch that, most of the graphics look horrible. Zoom ins look decent, but the rest, no. Can still do whatever animation you want at anytime. Infinity engine did nothing for me. Still looked like the Madden of old. Players have no sense of momentum whatsoever and just fly and skate around the field.

Have defensive ends outrunning RGIII on the flat? WUT!? What a joke.

Also, the AI is atrocious and the play calling is laughable. 4th quarter, Giants down 3 with 1 minute left on their own 18 and they are running HB draws.

It's a shame this is the company that received the exclusive licensing rights.
i agree. im on the fence this yr. and to think, this WAS the final yr of the original contract. smh

I played the demo on All-Madden, cause that the difficulty I usually play. I played with the Giants because the fit my west coast style more than any other team available in the demo.
Maybe its just the difficulty but i experienced alot of dropped passes that a receiver should catch...
I also never got time to throw the ball. I looked at the giants line (which isnt very good according to madden) so maybe ratings matter???? but the seem to sack me every play, which again might go to the difficulty.
the gameplay is great, the sound is great. Overall a 9/10 so far.
Let me know if anyone has these problems on All Madden or should i just lower the difficulty for this demo...

Im ok with the post saying that this game is almost the same because that is their opinion but did I really just read someone say that it reminds them of a N64 game? Cmon now?

I played the Demo and think it was a lot better than Madden 12. I don't like how it feels controlling defensive players though. Even before the snap, it seems like the players are floating instead of taking steps.

Issues
1. After completing a pass and the WR fumbled, I could not challenge the play until I called a timeout.
2. How come it still doesn't have user controlled replays? What sports game doesn't have that?????

this game is awesome. they finally got it right. if they build strong off of this edition going forward it will truly be the best football game franchise ever

I'm going to give it an entire quarter, but I'm not liking the way it functions at 0 at all right now.
thats funnybecause i just played a game at SLOW speed --thresh. 0 ALL pro default and the final score was 7-3 ..i lost on gore 5yd TD run w/ 11 seconds left

I just saw Frank Gore trip over a blocker's foot and stumble for a couple yards. Now that's cool!

I said that , I was just kidding . The game it self is great . They just need to tweak the camera , lower the engine effect and tweak the graphics a little bit.

Manning is a monster in this game .

Had this happen once and actually had enough time to get back on my feet before the defense touched my runner. Definitely something I've never seen in any EA football game.

another thing to add is that i am really into the little details in sports games ...and to see a replay of the football spiraling through the air in slow motion so detailed to the point where you can see the grain in the leather of the ball..is well...its gorgeous...well done
