My guess would be because of the gang tackles from the IE. Its a new tackling engine so the stats are probably brand new to the code. I am guessing this is something they have had plenty of time to integrate since the finalization of the demo.

I can't believe the players have no weight when running... Press left on your joystick, He turns on a dime without planting his feet.. Same for right... It's Not good... I hate that they haven't fixed this yet.... With that said I am not having a terrible time with the game.. DOing pretty good... The issue above just gets me frustrated

man, its been soooo long since I have been here.. I took a few years off of Madden I was so frustrated with EA.

Decided to give Madden 13 demo a shot.. and I am still disappointed overall.
I mean I do see some improvements, no doubt about that.

I absolutely love all the immersion, cut scenes, and all the on the field camera cut aways. They look stunning.

But the actual game... it still looks like a cartoon when playing from this camera angle, and the gameplay.. while better than years past still light years behind where it should be IMO.

This game stills feels like a last gen game to me, with polished up hi def graphics.

I still don't feel like I am in total control of what is happening on the field, and I just don't get the umph! feeling when hitting, getting hit, or exploding through the hole running.

I dunno guys.. not trying to hate here (i am over that by now), I just want more at this point..

I dunno, maybe I will try slower speed as some say here and it will feel better and not so jerky.. but right now its looking like another year of no video game football for me..

So far I'm loving it.

Love the Infinity Engine. It's not perfect, but it's great to know that when, for example, Leroy Hill gets blocked and falls head first into the RBs legs running straight at him, the RB won't just bounce off anymore, he'll fall down.

Passing is nice, rushing doesn't seem too much different. All in all, unless I really want to play college ball, Madden is looking like it's gonna get a lot more use from me this year. Should be a good final product.

That's what she said.

Some tackles do look funny like pinball tackles, players bounce off each other and fall down like bowling pins.

I don't see the complaints with the graphics. Looks fine to me on 360.

Commentary is an improvement, but still needs work. I scored a TD on a corner fade, they said I was out and I was ready to challenge, but then I see I got the 6 points.

I like what I seen, but to me Connected Careers is what I need to see. The presentation and commentary made me think I was watching an actual game on CBS. There is still that issue of Phil talking for so long that it doesn't stop until middle of the next play. I also noticed again that the AI Clock Management hasn't been fixed, there is still that un needed timeout at 1:01 left in the 4th. Overall it was great and it does make me want to get the game despite wanting to stick with Madden 12 but I'll have to see what the reactions are to Connected Careers before I decide to buy the game or not.
Yeah i like what i see also looking forward to the connected careers

i'm impressed, plays pretty good, my only issue is that it needs better 'foot planting', but this will be a day one purchase for me now..... been yrs since i bought a madden game!

Finally got to playing and I must say I am impressed. The game is gorgeous and the commentary/audio is very solid. Sure the commentary might be a tad generic but id rather have it this way than have super specific ones that play every time that specific player gets the ball. Also Ea wasn't lying when they said they cut down on the amount of dead air The gameplay is much improved and the passing system feels good. I saw less skating and my oh my the catch animations are pretty. when it comes to the infinity engine ai was very pleased. Sure there are some bugs, I saw marshawn lynch break dancing a couple times and its funny to see lbs fling wrs of off them after a play but overall its pretty awesome. Im sold on madden 13, Time to head over to amazon and preorder haha

For all the Silver members, Xbox is offering a free weekend of Gold this weekend, so you may be able to download the demo then.

Well, i played the demo (on PS3 if it matters) and i feel disappointed. I absolutely hated Madden 12 and yes, i do think Madden 13 has improved a tad over the previous madden but it still feels disappointing to me. The passing is great as are the catching animations, the tackles seem okay i suppose, and no 60 inch verts from the LBs anymore (at least from what i saw).

Although those are big improvements most people (including myself) have been looking for over the years, the game still feels stale. The OL is still trashed, AI is still screwed up, for example: I did the redskins vs seahawks, i was the Skins and the Seahawks were about to score, Matt flynn threw a beautiful lob to sidney rice in the endzone on a fade route, my DB was nowhere to be found (couldn't use replay to find out why) so sidney was wide open, well, sidney doesn't even make an attempt, he just lets the ball hit the ground. From what i saw, penalties weren't added that've been missing for years either.

The game feels just like last year except passing is better, new catching animations and tackling has a few added animations.

A few weeks ago when i was getting my haircut at my local barber, i played Madden 10, and honestly, it felt great to play that madden, i didn't remember it being as good as it was but, when i played it i could tell a huge difference over madden 12 and it, and even the Madden 13 demo and it. I'm honestly considering just renting this madden (for the new career modes they've added/players) and probably just buying it on black friday whilst on sale and just buying Madden 10 from gamestop when i trade Madden 12 in.

Well, enough rambling for me.

I wish NCAA could be this good...having a blast with Madden but I dont really get into the NFL. Easily one of the best sports games i have ever played.

As goofy as this may sound but I love how this demo has turned out. This yr I really feel like I'm playing 2 totally different games with this and NCAA

Finally I have the feel that there is Pro & a College game. Thanks EA

Has anybody been able to record an assisted tackle? I haven't even seen one and have played a handful of games. Thanks.

I agree, I'm usually one to complain about how the PS3 looks...(like NCAA 2013 on PS3 compared to the 360) but this looks nearly perfect and I dont see how the 360 could get any better.

does not happen on 360

but does look better then last year for sure

Not seeing the jaggies. They are Very obvious on NCAA 2013 though.

Its funny to see EA and its infinity engine struggling in some of the exact same ways as Natural Motion did with Backbreaker. For those that never played it, the disproportionate response to light touches and the running back hitting the line and falling down were two of the problems with backbreaker upon release. It didn't take natural motion long to fix those two issues and I would not expect it to take EA long to fine tune their engine in the same way.

Based on the changes that were made to Backbreaker and the changes that FIFA saw from the time of their demo release to retail release I have high hopes for a rapid evolution to the infinity engine and don't think we will have to wait until Madden 14 to see massive improvements.

my only worry is the lighting at midfield seems too dark. with skins i cant even make out the colour of their jerseys. seems like stadium shadow but well overdone imo.
hey i completely agree with the lighting. hard to tell the 2 teams apart sometimes. or least with the Redskins Seahawks gm.
