-according to the commentators Russell Wilson is a veteran(several yrs under his belt), if u start him

-when u convert a 2pt conversion...the opposing them celebrates

-the I-formation power run is od against the cpu...using Bradshaw, lynch, gore w/8 carries for 200yrds

-gm plays better on slow

-default camera(zoom out)/ slow replays are annoying

-can u hot route a specific defender w/o actually being him ala 2k?
ex:i want the my MLB to ply zone while I'm using the DE

Number of dropped passes is beyond ridiculous when played on all-madden. 1st game 26 attempts 13 of which were dropped, 2nd game 16 attempts 7 of which were dropped. Anyone else experiencing this?

My Immediate impressions:

The commentary flows smoothly and surprisingly reminds me of the Al Michael/Madden days of last gen commentary. With some of the unnecessary dead spots, it could use some work to get to a FIFA/2K B-Ball level though. Overall, good commentary though.

The presentation is still so so. No half-time show after an entire gen is inexcusable and the replays are still weird/half done....pretty underwhelmed by the presentation. Needs more stat overlays.... ;(

The sound of the crowd is a real winner in the demo! I love the way the crowd swells up and down. A+ to me!

The gameplay is unfortunately largely the same even with Infinity Engine. For every moment of potential WOW, there are 5-6 moments of headscratching clownish falling down. I personally don't feel the IE creates a big enough difference in the gameplay from last year. Players still cut on a dime and zig zag when running.

I do appreciate how the fumbles get kicked and bounce off of players. Very cool moments are produced within the game.

All the QBs feel the same...I don't feel a difference when throwing with Alex Smith vs. Eli Manning or RG3....RBs feel the same too. I expected to feel Gore and BRandon Jacobs power running styles differ from Helu...but once again disappointment.

Overall, not a bad demo, but Madden definitely doesn't warrant another purchase from me this generation. They are going to have a ton to prove going into next gen. Madden 14 won't be enough, we need competition pushing boundaries again. If you don't own Madden 12, then I would say purchase 13....if you can deal with the lack of editing/customization.

Demo seems pretty cool to me. Looks great, plays smooth. All-Pro is way too easy though. Can't wait to get the game.

I definitely see the jaggies on ps3, it's only on zoom outs, when the play is action, jaggies are everywhere. On replays and zoom ins, I don't see jaggies, which I find weird.

Yeah, All-Madden seems unplayable to me because of all the drops. Last game I threw 15 times and had 6 drops.

I don't wanna read through the 800+ comments but to everyone that has played both 360 and PS3 versions, have you noticed that the PS3 graphics are finally on par with 360? No jaggies!

Good job EA!

I know. I know. It's not all about graphics but when you play on all platforms like me including PC, these type of things are taken into consideration. I'm still going with 360 because I'm loving the Kinect function which I am really quite surprise at how responsive it is.

You have to edit your human catch slider. When you set it to All Madden it sets your human catch to 25. Just increase the number and open receivers will make the catch.

So far, I'm enjoying it.

Graphically the game looks great, the sound is much improved from years past, and I really am enjoying the passing system.

The only negative for me thus far is the AI's play calling. I was up by 7 with a minute left, G-men with no time outs and they called 3 running plays on the drive. I'm sure it'll be addressed in the retail version, but something to keep an eye on.

If they would have added 2 player coop in CC Coach mode I would have purchased. It's entertaining enough to play, but the changes are not significant enough to warrant the removable of coop considering they allow it in play now.

Add 2 player coop into CC Coach mode and I will purchase it. Otherwise, not worth it to me. Key words "To me". Everyone else, if single player is your thing...Enjoy!

Have played the first half of SEA at WAS (me) twice and already I'm a HUGE fan of the infinity engine. I just wish they had coach mode in the demo but even without it this Madden is GOOD...so far.

So the last Giants-49ers game i played i was the Giants and this game i was down 21-7 at the half and came back to tie it up and go into OT. On my first drive in OT i get to the redzone and inside the 5 and Bradshaw fumbles it and one of the 49ers picks it up and runs it a bit out of the endzone then somehow we manage to bump him back into the endzone and get a safety.

It was a crazy way to win the game. Next game i'll have to try some sliders but i want to make my own. Does anyone have any advice for me since i have never messed with the sliders besides the speed threshold which for me is always at 0?

I just threw for 393 yards in the demo with Eli on Pro. When I try on All-Pro I feel like I can't surpass 100 yards lol. Maybe I am just terrible Anybody else having problems passing on all pro?

PS3 Review

I have played two games thus far. One on pro level and one on all-pro level. Have yet to tweak the sliders or game speed.

Madden 13 has a vastly different feel to it than madden games of the past. So far, some of it feels great, some of the game doesn't.

The overall look and presentation of the game has improved and it feels like a new game. Unlike NCAA 13, which is staler than 10 day old bread. The camera view does need to be tweaked. It is too far away from the action. The sound and lighting are better and the new broadcast team is an improvement but it's not a huge leap or where it should be. More could have been done when it comes to pre, halftime and post game and the game has just the bare minimum when it comes to immersive cut scenes.

As for the gameplay, The Infinity engine is a step in the right direction. It's just not a large step forward. More like baby steps right now. Post play collisions between players is kind of comical but it's not a deal breaker for the game. The running and foot planting are still poor. It leads to akward tackle and blocking attempts. Better than poor canned animations, I guess The AI for receivers has improved greatly. Receivers will adjust mid air for the ball and position their bodies correctly to make a catch. This might be the most impressive part of the playing experience for me thus far and it clearly favors the offense. I wish Madden had distinct player styles. You do notice a big difference when it comes to power backs gaining extra yardage when there are collisions with defenders.

I have already pre-ordered Madden 13 thanks to credit at gamestop. I am hoping that online franchise and connected careers hold my interest and make this title a game that I will enjoy playing for the next year. So far, I would give the demo a 7.5, It's not great but it's not a bad game anymore. It's really a mixed bag to this point.

Anyone seen any injuries so far? Still the same animation with the new engine?

# 697 UMhester04 @ 08/14/12 10:21 PM
Another thing I am really noticing is that when I call a run play the linebackers will immediately run straight ahead of them when the ball is snapped instead of flowing to the ball. Leads to way too many outside runs that should never ever happen

The player graphics look WEAK to me. The new engine is good, but still a downgrade with the graphics, IMO.

No doubt. I had to adjust sliders in Madden 12 too. I guess I was just kind of hoping that I might be able to play on All-Madden out of the box. There's just way too many drops on default.

Nope, I wasn't user catching when I saw all of those drops. I was just letting the CPU do it.

# 700 jenglund @ 08/14/12 10:27 PM
I guess I assumed when adding physics, they would've added better foot planting and momentum. I'm only a few plays in and I feel like I'm skating around like Sonic the Hedgehog. That is hugely disappointing.

I'd love to someday run with my RB where I have to pick the hole, make one move and take what happens. Not be able to move leftrightleftrightback all over the place.
