I just seen it happen again. This time with the CPU Lynch being tackled while running through the hole. This time he tried to get up but was hit and fell back to the ground. was all I could do.

I've played about 6 games so far and there 3 HIGHLY visible issues that keep the gameplay from being great.

1. Players drop too many balls on All Madden. It make no sense for a wide open player with an 80 catch rating to drop wide open balls. Very few receivers in the NFL have such lack of concentration. This needs to be desperately fixed. Its been an issue this entire generation. You shouldn't have to modify sliders to correct this. It's common sense. Just watch an NFL game.

2. You should be able to zig and run circles while being a ball carrier. I understand this physics engine is new, but this is also an issue that has been around this entire generation. You guys need look into some type foot planting technology. MLB the Show and NBA 2k have figured this out 3 iterations ago.

3. Finally, the 3 stooges like tumbling after plays are over looks ridiculous. You guys have implemented a very good new physics system that goes haywire after a play is over. That has to be corrected before the 28th. It looks looney tunes out there.

I signed up for this forum tonight to post this one thread because this Madden has a chance to have almost perfect gameplay, but those issues standout like a lime green Lamborghini. A guy in the impressions thread posted, "Guys this is football!" I totally agree with this statement. But these issues make it look iPhone NFL game.

Early impressions:

Commentary is horrible. Horrible horrible horrible. I had the same multisentence line repeated on back to back plays, and a lot of stuff is still out of place.

Players tripping over eachother is funny the first time. Not so much the fifth.

Presentation is decent. I like the stat overlays.

The infinity engine is pretty cool. Need to spend more time with it.

It'll all come down to CC for me as far as buy/no buy though. This didn't tell me a whole lot.

Then a couple plays later, another WOW moment happened. Lynch got the ball off tackle to the right. Well my DE was pancaked at the snap and the OL went to block someone else. Well Lynch with no vision tries to run through the hole but falls over my DE who was on the ground. It really was a touchdown saving tackle if thats what you want to call it because Lynch was about 10 yards away from the endzone with nobody in front of him.

I was happy that it happened but I will be extremely pissed if I was the one running

Really liked the feel of the game. Destroyed the Giants but Eli ripped me up completing 20 outta 23 passes. They still couldn't manage to make it count and score. Player models and physics seem great. I'm honestly excited about this game for the first time since PS2 days.

Played a few downs and liked it so far. Really liking the run blocking over NCAA. The NCAA run blocking is a joke by comparison. It looks like they took the blocking from NCAA 12 and put in it Madden 13.

Running has been meh for me, there was a time where I trucked a guy with Lynch and it was awesome but otherwise it hasn't gone well for me. However that's fine with me with how easy it was run the ball in M12, I much prefer to air it out and can't wait to get my hands on the Saints with the new passing game that has worked well for me in NCAA

I've been getting smashed by the CPU on All-Madden. I just lost to the Redskins 28-7. Roy Helu Jr. went crazy on me with 179 yards on 9 carries. He was bouncing off my guys left and right. I had a pretty solid game with Russell Wilson though despite taking an L. The first thing I did was take Flynn out and put him in. I'm gonna give All-Madden some more burn, but my defense really isn't up to the challenge right now.

They didn't touch foot planting this year, possibly next year.

Just played a few games and I'm kinda so-so about purchasing this game. This game may be a breath of fresh air from all the other Maddens, but compairing this game to all the other sports games in terms of authenticity to the sport, like NBA 2K13, FIFA, NHL 13 and MLB The Show. Madden is still light years behind before having their game represent the football sport at the level of those games.

EA Tiburon gets no free pass from me. This generation was utterly wasted because of EA Tiburon poor development of the Madden series. This the game we should of gotten at least 4 years ago. Tiburon has been with EA for over 15 years. They have made good games in the past, but time has passed them by. EA won't let them go because they have made alot of money for them, but it clearly show that their development team lacks the talent to produce at the level the other devs at other studios are producing for their games.

The infinity engine in my opinion is just band aid. It don't have a huge impact in the gameplay like they are hyping it up to be. It just makes gang tackles look a lot prettier. Weight still doesn't matter. In one of my games. I hit stick the TE with a DB and he flew 5 years back like the DB had super strength. Oline play has not changed since madden back in the PS2 days. The only positives that I can say is that the catch animations are great.

The players still move robotic like. That's my main pet peeve. I know it's a video game, but if I see other games like MLB the show, NBA 2K, and APF 2K8 make their player move life like.. Why can't Madden do the same? It's inexcusable.

I'm just tired of Madden being behind everyone else. I just want a good football experience like i used to have back in 2003-2004. I enjoyed both Madden and NFL 2K4 and 5. I miss those days. It makes the football season even more enjoyable. This is not a trolling post this is my honest impression and rant.

GUYS!!!

I reealized that the old glith on punt returns and kick returns where you run around the field by going in circles works TOO EASILY!!

I TRIED ON A PUNT REURN on the FINAL PLAY OF THE GAME and it worked and I WON!!!
Did we really need this? Its not an impression and every one knows of this age old cheese tactic.

And no I am not debating this with you. We don't need it.

I am up 9-3 in the 4th, cpu makes a FG then onside kicks it. About 7 seconds left they have no time outs.. and they run the ball up the middle, game over.

That moment when you throw to a wide open WR and it hits him in the back because he never turns around to look for it

The demo has solidified my choice to take my money that I've paid on my pre-order and transfer it over to my Assassin's Creed 3 pre-order. Did not like it at all.

played 1 game and i must say i am really impressed with the infinity engine. little things like hitting a big lineman and you see the rb's body slighly twist and glance off. i saw the giants penetrate on a goal line stance and take gore out at the knees and it was a thing of beauty. I saw so many little things that just left me enjoying the game.

I enjoyed the audio, the commentary was spot on and the crowd noise was better than 12.

Game speed on default was way to fast but playing on very slow felt right.

overall this game is heading in the right direction, really excited since i passed on NCAA this year.

Why is Victor Cruz so dark?

Does anyone notice that when you kick a portion of the meter lights up for a spit second? What is that for?

Using this logic, it would be year one to any new feature or engine which should give them plenty of time to "fix the impossible task of programming a game to respect simple physics and football". Commentation, presentation, and the crowd ARE ALL GIMMICKS that are neither priority or secondary in the game of football.
So you expected the infinity engine to be 100% perfect? Despite all of the other overhauls they had to do to this game, did you REALLY think that it was going to be great the first time around? Name one thing that worked perfectly the first time around in ANY sports game? Even 2k had it's fair share of problems in the early stages of their work. Yes, Madden is a 24-year-old franchise, but you're acting as if they were working on the real time physics the entire time. They just now decided to put it into their game, and while it's long overdue, it wasn't going to be perfect the first time around. Nothing is.

Btw, you may think all of those things are gimmicks, but personally I believe they ARE a big priority to football games as it's something we see on TV when watching the games.

I'm glad one guy replied earlier but is no one else having the lighting problem? I honestly can't tell who from who when passing. One time I was actually covering the referee on a pass play!

I'm hoping this gets tuned because besides that I am really loving the demo.

This is killing me too. It's just about the only negative I can find.

This has turned into a must buy. I haven't bought a Madden since 09, and it looks like it's a huge improvement. I can tell the infinity engine instantly, but may be more evident to me since I've avoided Madden for so long. DL play is a blast, I feel like i'm actually making a difference with my player - as opposed to NCAA's DL play.
