This game is wonderful. It almost feels different, like it's not Madden. Lol. I know ppl have complained about the RTP saying they don't see the difference and yada - WHAT???!! I'll let those ppl have their opinions but my opinion on that is the either they're blind, are super Madden and/or EA haters and/or they don't know what RTP actually is. Heh. I wonder if some of those people were Backbreaker players and supporters. Hmmm...

The RTP is not perfect but DAMN it's pretty damn good for a first time being used in a Madden game. Anybody whining about it, eh, nevermind.
The presentation, the graphics, the graphical layovers and such, the audio, the commentary - GREAT improvements over what's been there. Also not perfect but, damn, I am NOT complaining.

Bottomline for me, the game is too effin fun, now. I can't wait to see the players collide on hits, trip over each other, u name it. I am enjoying Madden like never before and it's mostly because of the RTP. Almost brings a tear to my eye to see this finally in a Madden game and for it to be this good so soon.

Oh, yea, I'll definitely have my list of what's good, what needs improving and what can be added for EA AFTER I get down with the retail version for a week or 2 but I LOVE what is here with 13. Good stuff...

I played one game and immediately I thought, 6 years later, and this is the best they could do? I even had to play another to make sure what I played was actually serious.

What an embarrassment. Players look horrible. Scratch that, most of the graphics look horrible. Zoom ins look decent, but the rest, no. Can still do whatever animation you want at anytime. Infinity engine did nothing for me. Still looked like the Madden of old. Players have no sense of momentum whatsoever and just fly and skate around the field.

Have defensive ends outrunning RGIII on the flat? WUT!? What a joke.

Also, the AI is atrocious and the play calling is laughable. 4th quarter, Giants down 3 with 1 minute left on their own 18 and they are running HB draws.

It's a shame this is the company that received the exclusive licensing rights.

I am damn glad you got banned.. straight trolling at its finest.

Anyways..my impressions. It feels like a whole different madden with the presentation, commentary and physics. Wow..the physics add's so much to the realism of this game visually and physically....that added feature has given madden a fresh boost it really needed but i cant stress how much more "alive" the game feels with the much improved audio on-the-the-field sounds, crowd reactions and commentary.

The graphics...heck i do not know what they did but they look soooo much better imho now. The graphics, player models, etc look fantastic. The only weak spot i saw in graphics were the sky view of the stadium..outside of the stadium the cars moving lol...they looked like paper cut outs of cars moving hahahaha..but hey..thats nothing, i can easily overlook that

I am having a lot of fun with the game though..i hope there are more camera options in the retail build though..i want a closer up zoomed camera..with how much these graphics sizzle now..i would love a closer up camera...PLEEEEEEEASE have more camera options in the final build.

Great demo...a lot of playability..heck if a person couldnt afford the game right on release day...they still have the demo that is pretty nice on its own.

There are things i wish would get more attention...the running game..tapping the button to run accelerate and break tackles would be awesome but maybe they can get that in next year..there are other things i see that need improvement as well but for the effort made this year..i just feel i am content and happy with what they dished out this year. Sure it could be better..and maybe the sliders will fine tune this baby..but there are other aspects of the game that need improvement but i almost feel guilty complaining about them because of how much better this game feels now. I'll wait and see what the final retail build delivers and worry about the things missing this year for next year's game.

Day 1 purchase for me..no doubt!!

PS: FOR DEVELOPERS:
One thing i want to point out..i know its just a demo so there may be more cut scenes in the final build but after scoring a TD..they need to mix up the cut scene where the guy that scroed the TD is sitting on the bench and players come by and pat him on the back..i am seeing it way too much after each TD...this is where i stated so many times that these kind of cut scenes need to be mixed up with various other cut scenes..when you keep repeating the guy on the bench getting the pats on the back..that will get old really quick. You gotta mix that cut scene up with other related cut scenes..say like instead of him getting pats on the bench after each TD...maybe have the coach give him a pat on his back while he is standing..etc,etc...mix it up a lot more so it dont get old.

Again..i know its just a demo so "maybe" all of what i am saying wont happen in the final build..but just in case..i know its a fix to mix it up a lot more..just some advice.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

I realy dont understand why this happens...seems like every running play there are 6-7 defenders at the LOS and as soon as the ball is snapped they all run directly forward which leads to 1 of 3 things;

a. gain of 0-2 yards because one of the guys breaks off the block very quickly.

b. gain of 8-12 yards because one of the guys breaks off the block quickly, but a milisecond too late and there is noone behind the line for support because the linebackers run straight forward at the snap.

c. gain of 8-12 yards because I can just bounce it outside all day

The line play in this game is worse than in ncaa. I originally stated that this game feels very dynamic, but after playing it more it just seems like more of the same old stuff besides infinity engine (which is good IMO).

The running game is not more dynamic, it is very robotic. Seeing the same things over and over again is making me upset.

Second, this demo alone is the best Madden I've ever played, and maybe football game period. Graphics, physics, commentary, presentation, gameplay, etc, etc... everything is just great. The improvements these devs have made astound me. Madden 12 let me down a little after 11... But this game? Wow.

Enjoy guys. I know I will.
I've seen a number of people say the bolded, and I'm glad. Not b/c I wanted to see NCAA play second fiddle, but I think people raised an eyebrow when I said how much I disliked NCAA but enjoyed Madden.

The demo has its issues, but NCAA is simply not as well put together a game as Madden is. I'm looking forward to the retail to hopefully clean up some of the funky stuff in the demo. I felt the game was more polished than this in June, so I'm *hoping* this demo is an older build than what I played two months ago.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

I played the game. I played the Demo. Here are my pros and cons:

The Stuff I liked:

Infinity Engine - The on the fly tackling looks good for at least 70-75% of the plays.
CPU - The CPU QB play isn't as bad as it was last year. Then again, I don't know if I was playing on All-Pro or All-Madden.

The things I didn't like:

Play Action Blocking - The blocking is horrendous most of the time on Play Action. Way worse then people thought last year's PA blocking was. The trenches in general were able to almost form a pocket, but the blocking itself wasn't very good. Still can't get that much pressure from DE's.
Strategy Pad - The pre-snap adjustments menu/Strategy Pad either lags too much, it is to unresponsive, or it reacts very slowly.
Total Control Passing - The Total Control Passing isn't very good or comfortable. There are times where I'm flicking the thumbstick left and the pass still goes automatically to the right. There are also times where I want to throw over a LB and the pass seems to sail too much.
Running Animations - The swerving is too effective with fast guys. You already know the rest.
The Counter - The Counter seems too effective to me. I did like three plays in a row, all went for like 15 plus yards.
Player/Coach models - The coaches looked bad imo, and the players just had weird models in general.

Things that weren't good or bad:

The Commentary - It wasn't anywhere near bad, but they often said wrongs things (for example, I throw the ball out of bounds and they say that I threw a bad pass)

The Presentation - The pregame stuff, stat banner overlays, etc. were nice. But the halftime show - if you wanna call it one wasn't there. and the whole NFL flash logo thing in your face takes like 3 seconds which can hurt your shot clock, lol.

VERDICT:

I somewhat liked it, but I didn't really like it. It didn't feel that different. All in all, I would give it a 7.0 out of 10.

Re: Madden NFL 13 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

Just played the demo for PS3 and I will say that while it's better than 2012 there still is some improvement that needs to be made.

Pro's: Infinity engine, Improved passing mechanics, Tackling, Presentation

Cons: Running animations, skating, deep ball too effective, hard to defend the pass, no penalties outside of holding and false start

I will probably be passing on this one because it's nothing that jumps out to me that makes me feel like buying it ASAP
