Madden NFL 13 CCM Will Not Allow You to Play Other Games on the Schedule, Only Yours

Because I have been asked about this via Twitter and email so often, I wanted to make sure people were aware.

Justin Dewiel, Community Manager for EA Sports, just confirmed via Twitter (just follow the timeline), if you coach a team, you can no longer play other games on the schedule, only the game(s) on your own schedule.

For example. Rgiles asked if he could coach the Cowboys in CCM, but play the Patriots vs. Browns game.

Justin stated that it is not possible, because CCM is based around you and your character (coach or player).

judging by their tweets, they don't very much IMO

For me, the battle is to now make sure the features we lost gets back into the game asap for 14....

None of that adding it back in piece by piece slowly over the course of Half a Decade either

This is just another example of taking more control away from the user and its sad.

Fortunately for me, I have never played other teams games during my franchise so It doesnt effect me at all...

How would I know if they care or not?

And yes, I too want to make sure it is back in next year as well.

Last year they flat out apologized for the audio and let everybody know they had it high on their list of things to work on for 13

Im looking for the same level of recognition and commitment moving forward for the features that were lost

Right now I dont get that kind of feeling from them....Its more of a...

"well those things were just a headache anyways to program...Hopefully we won't have to deal with them for a couple of years because they'll be distracted with the other CC Mode things we added"

You won't get that. Look I'm pissed more than most about the lack of editing, 32 team franchise and a straightforward ability to play other games. The thing is EA knows we aren't happy and they (especially Looman) has made it clear that they don't consider these features to be important enough to add this year.

The bottom line is we have a workaround for this issue so continuing to gripe about it is useless. Hopefully they will make the change next year but the workaround makes it so that this issue has been minimized.

The game isn't even out yet.

Are you really expecting them to come out in June and say what is a priority for next year?

That doesn't make sense. Even if they came out today and said it would be back in next year it wouldn't make any of us less pissed off about this year.

They should if they care about it enough......Like the audio...they said more or less that they know it hurts us this year but we have big plans/investments for this in the future.

Right now they remain put off by why people think this is a big Deal....and have given no indication that they're going to make time for this in the future.....History with this series has taught us that a

"Some of that stuff may make it back in eventually"

means don't expect that feature to be back for years if ever

If people keep their gripes and disagreements with this direction for CC Mode contained in threads like this one that aren't interfering with the other parts of the boards....I see no reason why people should stop discussing how they're going to deal with these issues in future Maddens...as long as it doesn't get personal

And Yes It would make me feel better if they guaranteed this stuff is coming back with a Vengeance for Madden 14...I think most are happy with the additions they made to CC Mode but are terrified that it cost them their Offline Customization for a long long time..

I can't speak for anyone else but I could take the hit this year and really look forward to 14 if I knew all of this stuff was coming back next year...Id quit worrying about it here in this thread and the others that are dedicated to missing features

This is just an honest question because the only people I've seen say things like this is the gamechangers and I don't put much stock into them as knowing the insights of the game's future.

Im just curious as to if you've seen actual game devs comment officially on that.

I'm not saying it's interfering with the rest of the boards and it's fine to be secluded here.

I'm just saying it's a waste of a post.

EA isn't going to hear something that they haven't already heard. If you guys want to waste time now and vent, have at it. Just keep it respectful.

Sure, it would make us all feel better to hear that.

You are being unrealistic though if you expect to hear something like that in June before the game has even been released.

Totally different situation and also a new leadership team is in place. History isn't always repeated, especially when changes take place.

@Big the reason they rarely guarantee stuff like this is gonna be in next year is bugs and other things can come up that they may not be able to fix in time. first lesson of customer relations is never guarantee something till you have it ready. i play wow and other mmos and they do things similarly when they bring servers down. they try to put out a general time for things to be back up but never guarantee anything till they are up

One look around and you'd get the reasons that have been stated time and time again. Easier to just spout off crap and have zero quality input though.

I think you misunderstood. He was saying the guy could look around to find the reasons (i.e. the answer to the "why the ___?" question posed in the guy's mini-rant). Skyboxer wasn't telling him to look elsewhere for a football game.

this is very sad, I only play madden offline and control all 32 teams, do all scouting, all the off season stuff including the draft. I have been doing this ever since madden on the last generation console. I cant believe they did this so now I have to play madden 12 for another year but im not buying a game that i can only be one team its just stupid and boring for madden. I guess my money is going to be on NCAA and I have a bad feeling i will be saying this for that game next year.

I'm certain the Madden team will have all of the numbers, names, players, and ratings correct and have fixed both the cpu trade and draft logic. You won't have to lift a finger to make any adjustments.
