Madden NFL 13 News Post

Because I have been asked about this via Twitter and email so often, I wanted to make sure people were aware.

Justin Dewiel, Community Manager for EA Sports, just confirmed via Twitter (just follow the timeline), if you coach a team, you can no longer play other games on the schedule, only the game(s) on your own schedule.

For example. Rgiles asked if he could coach the Cowboys in CCM, but play the Patriots vs. Browns game.

Justin stated that it is not possible, because CCM is based around you and your character (coach or player).

Sounds like you're describing people whose money would be better spent on something other than consoles and video games.

You're absolutely right on the bolded part, but I don't know that bypassing Microsoft's XBL for roster sharing is something that can be done (I could be wrong, but I haven't had a 360 for almost three years now).

Madden 13 ends the work around.

Accurate Rosters should be available for free for Sports Games. And a way for the customers to keep rosters up to date should be available for free, like being able to edit your own rosters.Sharing rosters should be built into the game, we shouldn't even need a special service from Microsoft. Who says? I don't disagree with you, but companies doing things like this are not rare or exotic.

I had been looking for a good western video game for a long time. GUN was just to stupid for me.
Did you ever try it out? I remembered liking GUN but not being able to get into RDR.

No offense, but that makes no sense whatsoever.

Since when has there not been a chance to play an NFL football game?

There is a much larger underlying argument that you are missing.

I'm fairly certain that anyone who can't afford $5 for an add on would be smart enough not to pay $60 for a video game.

I know the industry is going this way, I don't play anything other than sports games but read enough to know that other genres are costing more on top of the game price than ever.

The problem is things that have always been a part of the game no longer are and we aren't paying for extra maps or things like that.

I play a game like the show and know that the only things I would ever have to pay for would be add on's that arent necessary to game play.

Madden is taking things that have been a staple and either flat out removing them or saying you can still do it but you have to pay for it.

It isn't right and the "it's only $5" argument doesn't hold any water.

I thought I read somewhere in here that it's only one team per console/XBox Live ID.

Or people who prefer to play offline with their kids, their friends, their college roommates, etc.

I have seen this posted a few times but haven't seen it mentioned in any official capacity. Where did this idea come from?

Gotcha. I misunderstood what you said.

Essentially, anyone wanting to play in an online league with their roommates can't do it. What a crock.

Not really relevant in this case.

In my 9yrs on these boards...i have never seen it as on edge like this...well maybe i have since the "other game" was put outta commission...and dat still fits around that time frame a little

This has just been a horrible development on something that just looked soooo promising to me....

I mean, they took out EVERYTHING i absolutely love to do that makes my franchise enjoyable to me, completety destroyed how i usually play the game...i mean im insulted guys, almost to the point i feel they were specifically aiming at me and telling me to "F*** off!!!"

im hurt...just hurt (._.)

that wasnt needed there man. what about the people who cant or choose not to play online? the only time i play online is a one off game against someone and even then that's very rare. i like playing offline because i can do things at my own pace. i was in a online league for NBA 2K12 and that didnt last very long. we just stopped playing the league.

i love what they did by giving us storylines and things like that but i dont like that loss of control. however i will still enjoy this game and hope that some of the things they took out can be patched in or something.

To you it isn't but obviously to alot of other gamers it is.. I'm glad they did improve online play but offline shouldn't of taken a hit in the process.

So, since you can't PLAY any other league games other than your own (offline Question), canu atleast SPECTATE (watch) any other league games? (CPU vs. CPU)

No. Only the games in which you are the teams coach or a player on that team.

There is always the play now games...you may be able to watch cpu vs cpu there. Problem is, it's a "spectator" feature that the online players won't have so we may never see it again since both modes will be synchronous.
