Madden NFL 13 News Post

Because I have been asked about this via Twitter and email so often, I wanted to make sure people were aware.

Justin Dewiel, Community Manager for EA Sports, just confirmed via Twitter (just follow the timeline), if you coach a team, you can no longer play other games on the schedule, only the game(s) on your own schedule.

For example. Rgiles asked if he could coach the Cowboys in CCM, but play the Patriots vs. Browns game.

Justin stated that it is not possible, because CCM is based around you and your character (coach or player).

No, you retire and assume the other role without starting a new file in connected career. It's what my friends and I are looking forward to doing. Start as superstars, play a season or two for some organic roster turnover, then switch to the lowest rated teams. When one of us wins the Super Bowl we start the process over. Same franchise, no restarting.

I believe the downside is you accrue XP per position. You can't bank XP as a RB and then start out with a head start as Browns coach... XP starts over, which makes sense.

So...if you kind of think about it, CCM is just a glorified SS mode...epic FAIL!

No. You now have a fully fucntioning salary cap in online franchise. Which is something that has been asked for since Madden 10. I'm not really all that fond of some of the things taken out of the game as far as custimization. But as an Online Franchise player I can't agree with that statement at all.

Yes, the offline franchise player, the one console family (roommate) franchise player, the fantasy draft guy, the import NCAA rookies guy, and the roster edit guy are getting shafted and it sucks for them I am happy to finally have online franchse be the same as offline. Doesn't make the groups I just listed happy, and I feel for them. But CCM is more than a "glorified" SS mode.

no, it is a GLORIFIED SS Mode lol..I'm exaggerating it ofcourse but to only be able to control 1 team and not being able to play any other league scheds crosses SS mode ability. those groups you've just listed is a pretty deep one imo as far as consumers go. but hey, it is what it is...an EPIC FAILL

Personally, this is fine with me.

However, where EA messed up is they should have left the stand alone Franchise mode.

It is clear that it would have solved all of these issues.

XplosiveRunna is right in a way. CCM is an all out SS mode. You can be a coach, for instance. It is kind of like Franchise mode, but not really.

If EA had CCM and Franchise Mode, we would all be content.

Although these issues aren't issues for me, I know it is for some, many...basically, 1-2 steps forward, then 1-3 steps back.

I would even buy a second disk to make this happen.

One thing I don't like (sarcasm) is that they have kept the current trades fro draft pick going. I was looking forward to using the Redskins in the OS Vets and having my first round draft pick(s). Oh well, it looks like the rams and Strohems will be enjoying that "feature".

Actually online franchise ISNT the same as offline franchise. Online you can play a multiteam franchise. Offline you cant.

us there at least still off line franchise mode why don't you just give the consumers of this game what they want??? is it that hard?

O.o...what if that friend doesnt have online??...or is a roommate etc??...wait, i think i know the answer....it just means were s*** outta luck this year....

The profile that has the live gold will have the online pass, the second account will be a silver account and not have online pass, they can't share rosters so after the first roster update they will be incompatible.

Silver is free but doesn't include online multiplayer
Gold starts at $5 a month, gold family (up to 4 gamertags) $9 a month.

Gold you have to pay for...you can get 1 month 3 months or a year...but certain stuff you get frm games require gold..like you couldnt dl the ncaa demo if you didnt have gold..i dont think you could even dl roster updates frm madden without gold last year

Silver is free...and basically all you can do is just recieve title updates with it regarding madden last year...atleast with Silver on NBA2K u could still get updated rosters..dl user rosters, sliders, created players and etc...

on silver you get demos a week later.
you can watch and rent movies, and use the apps from the apps store if you have accounts with hulu plus, netflix, zune, hbo go etc. you can get title updates, but anything requiring an online pass would also need live gold.

Maddens rosters require the online pass code sold with new copies of madden so if you have one live gold account and one silver only one will be able to get and use the online pass code, and thus only only gamertag will get the updated rosters. Wouldn't matter if the other had gold either as you'd still need 2 online passes. The second costing $10

Your completely missing the point...how the hell can the friend play in the league if he doesnt have ONLINE!!!!!!

You can say things are cheaper and give prices n etc but whether its $20 $10 or even $5...some ppl dont want to waste that on to play a game online...life is hard as it is for some ppl...i cant stand when ppl throw that "well its cheap, it only $5" ish out there...especially knowing just how hard it is for the avg person to make ends meet outhere is...

If you can't afford it, you don't buy it. Simple as that.
