While Live fans are just happy to have a game, us 2k fans criticize 2k too much, not saying some of it isn't deserving because it is, but just the fact that most of us can't accept that we saw a early build and its not the final product is troubling. I mean live fans are defending that preview, they understand that their game is only 60% done, it seems that most of us can't grasps that, what we saw isn't the final build and is already making a decision on a game that isn't even released yet.

@ jersez just wait till after the game releases ....the explosions in here is really noisy ......god help us if the color palette for a head band is off color....the madness that comes from a small thing like that is terrorism

Just a small update... I figured out why Manu blasted through the D in that vid. I fixed it this morning. Rest assured there will be PLENTY of contact in NBA2K13.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and showing that you actually listen to what we have to say. I love you guys at 2k and this is exactly why.

What happens there?

Do you mean the terrible layup animation that the player triggers?

Meaning no matter what when I press the melee I will kill my opponent, when I press a button in a sports game I'm not guarantee anything. They have to add so many things to the game just to make it look realistic. I don't expect 2k13 to not have issues, because I understand that sports games are highly complex. That's why Live 13 after two years is still not up to par. If game development was easy then everyone would do it. Stop comparing sport games to other genres of video games because they are not the same.We have to be reasonable people.
you could miss the meele ya know, its happened to me before

Also, are we more likely to see layups like the one Westbrook did if we get contact while driving to the rim? Those are the types of layups I like to see in traffic (They don't have to necessarily go in, which goes without saying).

Also, a lot of us were mightily irritated when this happened:

Is this fixed? This happened at the most inopportune times. I almost broke my controller in frustration
We've completely reworked the way we handle contact on drives and shots. Can't talk about it now, but yes, the Westbrook layup is an example of the types of finishes you'll see at the rim this year.

I know you can't answer everybody, and I'am very thankfull that you did came by, but is the speed issue one of you guys priority to fix?

Having to manual double clutch after contact to trigger a strong finish animation that improves your chances of making it would be glorious.

This please!

From my point of view, the gamekillers in nba2k12 are:
- No contact in almost all the up and unders. When there is any of it, it's always a defensive fault :[
-speed of big men, to high! :[
- no contact in a lot of modified drives to the rim :[
- no intelligent move off the ball by your AI teammates - the team needs to have a clear system ( more off screens or more pick and roll/pop, etc! by some kind of sliders or easy on the fly menu/option in every play ) :[
- no intelligent defense - i don't want that my big men, for example, go to the 3 point line covering birdman or mcgee. Even if I put the option manually to not do it, they will do it or the space is not enough
- More effective step backs and running fadeaway shots. I'm not saying to make them a lot more easier, but a little bit more effective, creating more space between defender and attacant. Momentum in both players is needed i think in these cases.
- apart from Ginobili no contact drive to the rim seen in this demo of E3, there are a some more no contact animations under the rim in nba2k12 that are easy buckets. They need to be fixed, please =P

In my opinion, if with all these had been fixed, nba2k12 would have been the best basketball game ever. Let's hope that nba2k13 can deal with almost all of it =]

Thanks. I saw this thread already. It's already much better now but I'll continue to refine the layup anims over the next few months

I knew that when it was announced it would be shown at e3 that the gameplay would be a pretty early build and would be closer to 2k12 than 2k13, so I wasn't expecting to see much of anything new. At this stage the court movement still seems as slow as 2k12. This is just a guestimation, of course. A big thing for me would be that the basic 'change of direction' movement around the court and passing aren't really slow or delayed.

I did like the Westbrook layup and the fact that Parker got blocked on an up-and-under attempt when the video first started. Hopefully those are more defendable than last year.

I can't think of a year this generation where 2K didn't improve the aspects of the game you mentioned from the previous year, so there's no reason to think this year will be any different. Hate that it has to keep being repeated but it's 4-5months from release. I remember the year they announced Michael Jordan would be in the game, the first released images had Michael Jordan looking near as muscular as The Rock. They said it would change and by release it did; in fact they nailed his change in appearance at different times over his career. I know some people have issues with how a player like Kevin Durant is modeled, but that shouldn't be extrapolated out to the entire game. For the most part they do a great job with getting players' look/signature styles correct.

Still haven't seen all of the gameplay video but from the bit I've seen I didn't see a lot that jumped out to me outside of slightly smoother animations. Not worried as I know the 2K team will deliver as they have in the past - there's no reason to forget the game's track record.

Beluba, i hear one of you guys focus was passing for 2k13.

Be nice to get those beautiful in-air and grounded wrap around drive and kick pass out animations, back in the game that were in nba2k11.

I really missed those this year.

Pretty sure 2K13 wasn't playable to the public... usually isn't till they go over to Germany.
