When it comes to NBA 2K, the The Dark Knight line is most appropriate, "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

Despite it all,i will give some credit to 2k and their work this months..

PD: Perkins running the floor faster than small players OMG!
This version of the game was probably create towards the begining of the year so the final version will be more than 2 months ahead.

It is June people. It is June people. It is June people.

The game is 3 months+ away from being finalized.

This video probably isn't even from yesterday's most recent build.

With contact 2K has to understand that in today's NBA any slight contact between ball handler and defender is a foul.

This is my main problem with bumping especially after watching that heat Boston series were every little thing is a foul.

If a player is going toward the rim and you bump him in any direction that should be a foul

So what it is June, 2K still hasn't addressed some of the problems that greatly plagued 2K12.

I understand what 2K is doing by showing a short video to show us something.
The problem I have is that they showed us a few new animations but 2K did not take out some animations, especially the bad ones.

People can be upset or disappointed

I didn't expect to see much difference on a build being shown this early and my expectations were met. Loved the layup by Westbrook. Also liked the momentum model present when Ginobli had to shift his weight a few times to try and catch/stop Westbrook before that layup-Never saw that in 2k12. Not much else to speak on outside of that. They still have a ways to go before release so I'm not going nuclear on a video in early June based on a build that is probably from May or earlier.

Terrible decision with that dunk contest control scheme though...Hopefully there is an option for the classic controls(Really liked the previous scheme)

The jury is still out on double teams, speed differential, art updates, coach mode improvements, passing -my main concerns for 2k13.

You do know that for sales purposes 2k also has to appeal to casual gamers as well, and who knows maybe there will be multiple ways to play the dunk contest, they told us very little about the mode.

Got to disagree there. There are many instances in the nba where ball handler and defender collide IRL and no foul is called. Without the bumping animations people on defense would have zero weapons to defend against paint whores like the Heat in 2k. As long as they have momentum on defenders meaning if you shift your body one way and the handler goes the other, the defender can't easily morph back into position then the bumping animations can be balanced and not overdone. Giving the ball handler a window to dribble away from the contact when a bump animation triggers and more stopped dribbles will also be welcomed.

You have been here since 2009 so I am a bit disappointed that you clearly don't understand that there will be multiple builds before the final, to get a game ready to present this early they probably uses one of the first builds, Mike Wang already came on here to confirm this but just ignore him.

still they don't fix the jersey, many players are now wearing tight jersey, like howard, drose, westbrook and etc.... the jersey still look buggy for me...

@teebone21 don't worry about it. VERY early build. We'll get it cleaned up before ship.

In all honesty, anyone who is expecting 2K13 to be noticeably different than 2K12 (or 2K11 for that matter) is going to be disappointed. For many this may NOT be a bad thing but for me in particular, I'm not a big fan of redundancy.....especially when you're charging the customer another $60+ for essentially the same "pig" but with different makeup.
Here's a solution for you buy the other game, don't you love free choice and options

I think the biggest changes are from titles 2 years later. For example, 2k7 to 2k9, then 2k9 to 2k11 - all three games were classics and my favorite 2k sports games. But with the praise 2k got from 2k11 I don't think they have the incentive of building a new engine and drastically changing the way the game feels because as you know, it's the first time a basketball game or any sports game for that matter got above 90 aggregate review scores on Metacritic. So what we'll see is just a few tweaks here and there, the inclusion of some legends and that's about it. They're already ahead of EA and so we won't see a ground-breaking game this year in my honest opinion.
