MLB 10 News Post

V.3 is finished and is currently up on SportsConnect under the name of "strut24v3done". Please remember to vote thumbs up to the file when you download, so any impostor files aren't mistaken.

This version has everything in v.2 PLUS RAZR's pitch and stamina edits and strut24's stance/delivery updates. ALL stances/motions are done as of June 11. Anyone called up after that, has not been added yet but will be added to my IN SEASON thread. So guys like Joe Martinez, Enrique Gonzalez, Daniel Nava, Justin Ruggiano etc have NOT been done yet. Here is the link to the In Season thread: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...s-rosters.html

Here is a Word document of all the changes that strut did to the rosters: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ml24bf

What is going on with the file now, you ask? JaSnake is working on v4, which will include updates to the stock SCEA players to update current real life performance. There is no ETA at this time for that file.

Here is HustlinOwl's Franchise File, which is for users that want a 30 team user controlled franchise file: http://www.mediafire.com/?okncwnj2wnm

Here are RAZR's slider suggestions for these rosters. These sliders may help users who are having issues with USER VS CPU IN GAME stamina.

Quote:
For those who don't mind changing sliders use these for what I believe to be the fullest experience of the stamina edits

USER
Pitch control 1
Consistency 7

CPU
Control 5
Consistency 3
Strike Frequency 0
Manager Hook 4

and
Starter Stamina 5
Reliever Stamina 0 for both user and cpu

For those that prefer to stick as close as possible to default use these suggestions that SoxFan posted

Starter Stamina (User): 6
Reliever Stamina (User): 3

Starter Stamina (CPU): 7
Reliever Stamina (CPU): 5 (default)
Manager Hook (CPU): 3

I just think that tweaking with the stamina drastically like they did is unnecessary. I AM NOT BASHING ANYONE OR ANY WORK DONE TO THIS ROSTER SET, so please don't make a useless post saying that i am complaining. Unlike bondsfan, I actually like the pitch edits a lot (except for there almost being no straight fast balls), but i disagree with the stamina edits. Otherwise, this roster is seriously UNREAL. If SCEA hired them to do this, i would definitely pay whatever i had to get my hands on these. I hope there is a V4.1 to fix the stamina edits, but if not, then i don't mind at all. Yet again, thanks again to all involved in this project.
Pitch edits and stamina edits have been part of these rosters since i can remember (07) this is the first year that i can remember people have had a problem with em. SCEA made some changes this year that effected parts of the game that they weren't expecting.

Alright guys. I am doing some testing now with an early build of v4. I will post results as I get them...

Update #1- doing at least 5 seasons using the same numbers I was using earlier. These are on default sliders with injury frequency at 2. The first sim seemed good. The second was even better.

thanks for the response runandshoot. i am just trying to help everyone figure out a possible way to solve the franchise stats problem that some people are running into. i have gone deep into 2 frannys with V3 and have had some pretty ridiculous numbers myself. A-rod hitting 60 dingers a year and 150+ rbi's.

v4 is looking like it might have solved some problems. I will post my findings when I am all done.

ALRIGHT. I think v4 might have fixed the simmed problems. Here's my data. I found the best results when I was simming with DEFAULT sliders. Here are my results:

I think v4 should be good to go if JaSnake says so.

Looks great. Maybe they shouldn't have released V3. We are unpatient fools.

BTW. League leading ERA is up now Ubaldo has given up 6 ER against the Sox, so the sims are even more accurate ;-)

Just wondering how long testing takes. Just got off work so just wondering about starting my franchise.

# 394 authentic @ 06/24/10 08:42 AM
Are we really having only certain people test out these rosters? Thats a joke hahahaha

# 395 Dean3790 @ 06/24/10 09:22 AM
I'm not testing the complete version. It's missing some player re-rates. JaSnake and TD are the only guys that have it still.

# 396 JaSnake16 @ 06/24/10 09:32 AM
Actually TD is the only one with it, I have not seen the edited build but I know what hes been doing with it. Ill have an update later or hopefully an announcement. Glad to hear though that that early build is netting better pitching stats. There were players still left unedited in that build and also defensive ratings in the NL unmodified which will make a huge difference in the end product.

Yeah, I mean, the stats aren't perfect, but they are definitely realistic. If we didn't have those perfect games and no-hitters this year, they would probably be spot on.

Lol. When I don't throw at least a one-hitter in the first series I play, these rosters are officially UNrealistic

does this mean you've put into v4 what was meant to be on v4.1?
did you soup up starter staminas across the roster?

Starters staminas were NOT touched by me in any way. My spreadsheets covered all of the other pitchers ratings with the exception of stamina and that was affected in that early build. SCEA really wasnt as far off with pitchers ratings than they were for hitters ratings compared to the DB. But there were differences. 4.1 will contain all different stamina ratings with the other ratings remaining the same from V4.
